This is so amazing. Glad I looked to see if there were any mods/texture packs that I'd like.
But I'm new to this game. Just bought it yesterday. How do I install this without replacing the original? Or do I have to replace the original?
It's really easy, just start up minecraft, go to texture packs button, and in there there's a button to open the folder, click that. Now drag my texture pack zip file into that folder, go back to minecraft, select my texture pack, and voila, you're in business :biggrin.gif:

yeah, I figured it out. Thanks thought.
My god is it beautiful. The only thing I'm not too particular about is the snow. Such as when you are on top of a mountain, and you're looking down and everything is covered in snow. It's hard to judge your height unless you're already going down. lol.

Glad you guys are enjoying the texture pack :biggrin.gif: I'll consider changing the snow to make it more detailed slightly so you can see depth better. I'll also definitely consider reworking some of the items. Thanks for the feedback :biggrin.gif:
I'm also going to keep messing with the mossy cobble and some other things when I get time.
[EDIT]
Ooh, also looks like I'll be fixing the non-transparent leaves. I saw a video of someone playing and saw the problem someone mentioned earlier in the thread. That, I'll fix when I update along with those other things most likely.
I commend your painfully longwinded albeit lulzy approach to marketing, ShortStuf7
I'll assume that to be a suggestion to shorten that first post :biggrin.gif: I'll do that next time I update as well. A friend of mine suggested the same today. Some of the pictures aren't really necessary anyways.
the texture pack is great, but i get this problem!
[snip]
That's really odd and I'll have to say that it seems to be the same problem that another person had earlier. The only way I know this could happen is if you have a mod that disables or somehow alters the functionality of the misc/foliagecolor.png and misc/grasscolor.png files, or somehow the file has been removed from my mod's zip. I don't know of any other way this could happen except from those two options, or some other weird bug.
Things i don't like about this texture pack are the mobs, i think the zombie looks a bit silly
i don't like the new creeper (i want it back!) Spiders are ok. All the other animals except the cow are great.#
Everything else is also great, its not as ugly as minecraft is as the textures are smoother. Perhaps have an option to keep the mobs the same?
EDIT: Also is that clay red? If it is i have to say i really do not like that, sure it's visible but it also doesnt look very nice its too red (in my opinion). Perhaps a better colour is suited? I suggest a more earthy red or make i grey again but put white spots in it and call that chalk?
The clay is red, yes and I like it that way, and will most likely remain that way. I felt it was relatively fitting due to bricks being red and earthy clay being red, at least in places I've been in the US. If you want the original mobs, or mobs from any other texture mod, all it requires is that you take the original mobs folder from minecraft's extracted jar, or from another pack's zip file and put it into my skin zip and overwrite them.
The process is fairly painless to do. if you need a more detailed explanation, just ask and I can maybe run a tutorial or find a link on how to combine mods. Again, its pretty simple and painless to do on your own. Unless there's an overwhelming want for the old mobs in my texture pack, I doubt I'll develop two consequent mod versions at all times.
Thanks for the support on the rest of it, as well as the feedback :biggrin.gif:
I love this texture pack a lot - it's one of just two edits I use. It's not overdone or oversimplified like others.
I did modify it a bit/remove some (GUI, mobs), but it makes the game feel like a render with a lighting mod.
Great texture pack ShortStuf. There's so many 'simple' packs out there these days that it gets tiring to look at them all, but this is a breathe of fresh air. It reminds me a lot of Freden's pack, but has it's own unique look that I absolutely love. Amazing work
Thanks for the support and the great feedback everyone :biggrin.gif:

Sorry if im bugging you but i found an error in the Texture pack discription, it says v1.1 instead of the most recent v1.2 I know i have v1.2 becuase i clicked on the v1.2 link, unless the link is broken and sends you to the v1.1 download...
[snip]
I really think thats the last thing this time, but don't count on it!
I just updated the v1.2 download, it was the right texture pack updloaded, I just must have forgotten to change the pack.txt to say v1.2! It's fixed now :biggrin.gif:

I finally got time to do this. Update 1.3 has fixed bricks (the white area is less eye-jabbingly bright), mossy cobble now looks more mossy over without looking too messy. I also modified the snow a little bit, basically just upped its contrast so it is more visible where the hills and such are from the top of a mountain as requested. I tweaked the glass just a little bit so you can see a little bit better through the window. I fixed the fast leaves problem of black spots that looked terrible, and also made the fancy leaves more see-through as requested.
The armors are at the bottom. I modified all the armor item images as well as the actual armor items, mainly changed are the helmets, breastplates and arms. I didn't vary a ton from what they were in the last version, but they are each different from each other now which makes them better :biggrin.gif: I'm pretty happy with them at the moment, but have a feeling I'll still end up coming back to them later down the line to make the legs more like the helmets in differentiation. But enough talking, to the pics and download!
With the new diamond armor, it makes the character look like he has big...
I'll let you come to the conclusion yourself.
Anyway, I really do like this pack.
Great work!

Could you make a terrain.png for me without the biome grass (leafs are okay). I want to use Bettergrass and SDK's guns and ammo mod, but these 2 conflict with each other, the game doesn't apply biome collors on the side of the grass blocks, they stay grey. I tried it myself, but i failed really hard. If you would do this for me I would be very happy.
This is still one of the best texture packs so far!
Before I do anything, I'm going to make sure I understand what you'd like :biggrin.gif:. You want the terrain.png with a green version of the grass.. right? If so, sure I can do that in like 2 seconds and upload it for you.. otherwise re-explain
