Personally I prefer the cartoony/simple texture packs.
High res/Realistic textures + low graphic blocky game = ugly
This. I wish people would do 128x128 with a more... cartoony feel too it. Then again, I think that might be a bit too much in the way of detail so 64x64 would probably be better.
I can kinda see the borderlands look in it. Especially in the dark borders that make the textures really pop out. Great texture pack for a 16X16 though!

You should try a 32x32 pack that's basically the same only with thinner black lines.
I really dig this, but I think the black lines are too thick. :sad.gif:
I have no experience in HD packs, but if someone would be willing to make the 32x32 pack, I would be extremely grateful and I would make sure to provide a download link for it and everything. It wouldn't be too difficult from what I understand. Thanks for the advice!

It'd be the same thing, only the terrain.png size would be twice as large in width and height ( and each tile would be 32x32). Installing such a pack would be the more difficult part.
And as someone else mentioned - it isn't technically cell-shading (though it has the look of such and thus could be described as having a cell-shading style).
Cell shading is a rendering technique used to make 3-D models appear cartoony by removing lighting and shadows for 'synthetic' lighting. After the frame is rendered, the rendering engine draws black lines around models based on distance from the camera.
I'm having trouble getting the DL link to work. Could you just post the terrain.png for now?
I wanna try a 32x32 conversion(that should be easy enough for even my limited skills), but I need the original.

Okay, thanks for the definition. I'm still claiming it as Cell-Shaded because it's the closest thing Minecraft would ever get to that, heh.
EDIT: Also, would I have to resize everything, or would the 32x32 terrain by itself work?(while everything else stays 16x16)

I really do. I will probably end up using it once you get a little farther along.
But this is not cell-shading
I think it is now, right?
Looks good :smile.gif:
Wow! Thanks for the screenshot! Nice city you got there by the way. Mind if I use that as a screenshot?
Go ahead, it's a SMP server

because I'm curious how 32x32 would turn out. :smile.gif:

I put borders around the items, sun and moon, and I changed the title screen. Changed the mouse to a dot, also.
Being butthurt over a game = lulz
That's nice, if you update your texture pack (that's version 1.0) and get more screenshots, I'll feature that on the front page. :tongue.gif:
And also: I'm working on the 32x32 terrain right now.
