A-ha! Maybe gunpowder could be concentrated dragon fire, and TNT could be a large crate of it or something?
The dragon creepers dropping shiny red-orange (not redstone red, but it would look the same as regular gunpowder except slightly bigger and with have red orange and yellow in it) dragon powder!!! Then BAM, you got Dragon Sticks!!! what say you to that?
Hmm.. I like it! If you really wanna get morbid, you could have it as a crystallized dragon heart. And Creepers could be animated golem-like dragons, like beings made from natural materials like leaves and twigs, animated by an unseen force with a volatile dragon heart within their body to make them explode? And Ghasts could be deceased dragons, which is why they drop the hearts. And TNT would be a crate of said crystal hearts.

Nether block ideas! NEEDS! The idea I have for the Nether is dragon lair of scary doom, ghasts as undead dragons, zombiepig men? BAH! HALF DRAGON-HALF PIGS FROM THE DEPTHS OF HELL!!!! That's what's up. lol
Tendrils of light? Wisps of smoke? Maybe Ghasts could be souls of dragons instead?
That does sound a lot more pleasant. :smile.gif: I like the wisps of smoke idea.... but the pigmen must be dragon/pig hybirds, just because I know I can do it. :smile.gif:
The textures are going nicely, but what are you going to do with the mobs? How will you get them wings :biggrin.gif:?

I don't know If I can give them wings... I know for the Player Skin you can give them hair and stuff by doodling in the white spaces, but I don't know if that holds for mobs, but I will try my very best to give them wings!

As I said though, until I get done with the terrain.png I don't wanna poke at anything else as I have a bad tendency to do the fun stuff before the important stuff...

Ghasts as angelic dragons, but red and dark..
White wings on their sides, with the face of a dragon on the front.. the tentacles will be.. ah.. crap.

You might try using the negative space created by the ores to make simple dragons shapes or outlines.
