@Koolwitak:
Ah, 'Mixcraft' and now that artist is paying me a compliment? Many thanks! I'll have to give your texture pack a try now, it looks very nice, I love the wheat, it looks like it's blowing in the wind and thats a beautiful thing. I'll give your pack a bump while I'm at it (not that I think it needs it with 1k+ posts! Haha now thats a thread! But every little bit helps right?).
@Gikon:
Thanks alot I'll keep you in mind. Much appreciated.
@Glimmar:
Thank you :smile.gif: I agree that gaming communities (and communities in general) should show this sort of team spirit, it's quite refreshing, and as for the artwork; there's nothing like adding pressure! Hehe, perhaps I have set too high a standard for myself! We'll see...
@dannyboy6896:
I was hoping to do the period justice, I'm glad you think I have, and that you like it :smile.gif: And since you're giving away cookies I'll have a chocolate chip one, if you please.
@ Everyone:
Thanks for your support and your interest, I'll be sure to show that it doesn't go unnoticed or unappreciated by making the pack better and better, polish here, shine there, and plenty of elbow grease all around. Thank you so much and I hope you all enjoy your stay in Ancient Egypt.
I'm really liking your texture pack, except for the blocks that are incomplete or temporary. I was wondering if you'd like any help? I've worked on texture packs in the past; my only completed and released one, however, was Apocacraft (Which was functional before indev was phased out, so ancient history). So I'm not inexperienced, though I am generally unmotivated.
I had some ideas for the metal blocks, trees, reeds, and a number of the items. Let me know if you're open to contributions.
@LuciferZ: Foul anti-christ! I'll accept no help from the likes of you! Hahaha just kidding! Just kidding! As a matter of fact, the metal blocks and trees were at the moment a stumper (oh the wit!) for me, any contributions that you might make would be greatly appreciated now and even perhaps after I get around to doing my own, since everyone has different tastes some players may prefer some of your blocks over mine. There can never be enough options to choose from in a game like this, it's pure (and in some cases, unrefined) fun, and more options make it more fun!
@Everyone: +3k views! Thank you all, at the moment I've been having a kind of painter's-block (and since the game is made of 'blocks' it has been worse...like this joke...) so I will be a little slow to update to pack. I have some things but nothing polished enough, or numerous enough, to merit an update. Soon though!
Take care and have fun,
Heftig
PS: LuciferZ, just for my own curiosity, which blocks to you perceive to be 'temporary' and 'incomplete'? I would like to know in case I have to re-do any ones that I feel are 'finished' hehe, thanks for your feedback and I appreciate your offer.
Well, by temporary and incomplete, I mostly meant the ones that had been left as the original textures: Mossy cobblestone, trunks and metals, etc. The only altered one that I would call incomplete would be the crafting table.
I'll start on some of my ideas today, and PM them to you when they're done, for your consideration :biggrin.gif:
Hello everyone! I hope everyone has been enjoying the pack so far! I have just updated the pack with new lava and water (I didn't like the older ones, they just didn't seem to look right), I also did the cracking animation finally, it was one of those things that was like "Thats what I'm going to do next, right after I finish this" and then I'd start on something else...ah well it's done now.
I also added more Artwork objects to allow players to fancy up their temples and pyramids with fancy stone detailing, hide their tombs with 'false doors', and hold up their favorite mine shafts with sturdy timbers. I've uploaded this preview image;
Oh yes and I made some buttons to change the interface. Hope it all works together the way it should.
Take care and have fun,
Heftig.
PS: Note to any would-be-contributors. Please feel free to post any images that you feel would compliment the theme of the pack, the game is supposed to be fun and the texture pack is supposed to be enjoyed, more content will liven things up and and variety and more options for players to try out, that's all part of the fun of modding in my opinion. My own favorite pack is a combination of John Smith's, Doku's, and Painterly! I'm surely not the only one who loves to mix and match! So please if you have something you would like to add to this work feel free, I'd be grateful for the support and the contribution of your time and enthusiasm.
you should of made the timbers transparent (IE: no background), though I do not know if the picture frame supports transparency.
Alas, I wanted to do just that, and not just with the timbers, I wanted carved archways to paste over doors, I wanted draperies to cover passages that lead out onto grand balconies overlooking the Nile. But it was not to be, several factors drove (drove I say!) me to drop the idea of transparent overlays, I'll give you a few just so you know;
1). The most important, the large plate of Wood (which I changed to sand) in the top right corner of the kz.png is applied to the edges of the artwork, this in it self would not be a problem, however the interior edges (of the tiles) are also textured with this 'sand' image, so any transparent opening in the artwork becomes a sandy grid.
2). Arrived at attempting to solve 1), Delete the Wood entirely leaving it transparent, now again this isn't all bad, but from the rear the artwork now contains no image (magic drapes! Only visible from the front!), also the edges of the painting are now transparent, and mummies now rest inside windows into another dimension (not attached to the wall as the shelves should be).
These two factors lead to me to choose not to 'go there', as the saying goes. Of course this is just my way of doing things, other people may have other ideas, or not care about the logistics, thats fine too, if anyone has anything they want to share with all of us (suggestions or content) please feel free to let us know. Always glad to hear from the community (good or bad, I can take my medicine).

Wow, I'm impressed..
Now all we need is to be able to add custom music! The music from the trailer got me hooked.
I had a few songs in mind for the video but this one always jumped out to me and said 'Epic', so I'm glad you liked it, Mr. MacLeod has some 'Middle Eastern' music (if only a few songs), however I'm not even sure if the ancient Egyptians even played that kind of music, they may have 'rocked' on some form of lyre to their own equivelant to a Rolling Stones concert, dirty lyrics and all! We have no way of knowing after so many years...but it's a good idea nevertheless!
Alright I've rambled on enough, take care and have fun everyone,
Heftig
Hello everyone! I've been scarce lately but things have been busy around here with winter setting in and work needing to be done, but I have not forgotten the mod or my fans (however many there may be lol) and I have been working hard trying to add content to support the relatively new and absolutely stunning Fancy Pack which I discovered only a short while ago. I have however added (finally) my own set of tools and I am posting them here so you can use them right away, I also re-did the Skeleton (at the suggestion of one of my YouTube viewers) and now they are Servants of Anubis, dressed in royal headdress's and golden amulets.
I have not updated the Pack at it's various mirror's yet, these two images will be included in the next update but I am waiting until I have finalized the Fancy Pack additions to update, which should be done within the next week, we'll see!
Here's the two images, copy and paste them into their respective folders;
Now with HD Tools!
Tremble with terror at the wrath of the gods!
I thank you all for your support so far, I look forward to hearing feedback and as always, take care and have fun,
Heftig
EDIT: Jeez this is harder then I thought it would be... uh, help?
EDIT 2: Wait, I just realized that one of the painterly pack's cobblestones represent this pack's brick, editing time (>^.^)>
Hello there, I have just started using this texture pack and there's something I realized right away, no mossy cobblestone texture, I will try to fix this for my own needs, if anybody wants it, Either email me at [email protected] , or PM me.
Update! Now with all new items to go with the Fancy Pack mod! Get it now enjoy Egypt like never before! Also there's a new poll, I want opinions so I can make a better pack and hopefully appeal to a wider audience. The pack has been brought up to date at both the site and Fileplanet and everything should be in working order (hopefully).
Thank you and let me know if something doesn't work right, take care and have fun,
Heftig.

Did you still need help with the pack? Let me know what the problem is and I'll try to help. Also, I see the resemblance between my cobble and the Painterly blocks, I guess there are only so many ways to make big blocks of stone, or maybe I was influenced by the Painterly Pack, it's my favorite native-resolution pack, hehe, maybe I'll change the cobblestone someday just to be different, but I sort of like it the way it is. Oh yes, if you have something that you think would go with the pack go ahead and post it, don't be shy! All contributions are welcome.
Lovely set of textures here. The only element that I do not like is the change to sand to make it look like grass, voted as such in the poll. Really bizarre to see 'grass' growing deep in the water as if the whole world was flooded a very short time ago. I am not likely to use this texture pack as is thus; very easy though to just change a single blocks texture though. May use it and do just that for a desert-themed area I was thinking of building.

Thank you for your criticism, and for your vote, I had hoped the poll would drum up some input since the posts were mostly just compliments, which are nice, good for morale, and greatly appreciated, but not so good for making improvements hehe. I was always thinking about posting an alternate texture pack of Egypt that was less of a drastic change (changing the grass and the sand would be considered drastic) and more of an improvement or compliment, I'll go ahead and do just that after the poll is complete. I'm waiting until all the votes are in and then I'll update based on all the feedback I receive. I'm even considering making another pack that is this one calibrated to 16x16, maybe it'll be too tricky, but I might give it a try.
Anyway thanks again, I'll be kind of scarce over the next week since it's Christmas, but I'll be checking the thread even though I might not post, unless someone has a problem that I can help with of course.
Take care and have fun,
Heftig
PS: I would have to release Fancy Pack content the day before the beta update came out, hehe oh well better luck next time...Keep up the good work Notch!
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the holidays as much as I did!
The poll is nearing a close and your feedback has been greatly appreciated and helpful in shaping future updates. It appears as though by and large I am doing something right, by the looks of the votes, but nevertheless many new alternate options will be available in the next update to accommodate different tastes, it might take a while as I recieved Elemental: War of Magic for Christmas and it has captured my attention like few other games have, despite the few minor bugs Stardock and it's crew have yet to vanquish, and much of my spare time has been invested in exploring this games seemingly rich and nearly limitless potential over the last few days. Stardock is good to modders.
Anyway thank you for your votes, your support and your comments, I hope you are enjoying the pack and I'll be getting that update out as soon as it's ready.
Hello everyone! I finally updated the pack with a load of changes, now we have Olive Trees, Cedar Trees, vases of flammable Naphtha, and lots of others, the biggest change is the return of Grass as, well, the Grass texture, alternates featuring Sand as Grass are included in the "Alternate Terrains" folder within the .zip
Anyway please let me know what you think of the pack, and enjoy your stay in Egypt. More updates might come in the near future, but I can't say, RL and all.

Heftig, my friend! Glad to see you lookin' in and still making cool textures. It's nice to see you back in Minecraft. Real life is definately more important though, I just wish i could put that thought into practice. Anyways, for your hard work:
Glimmar! Thanks for your support! It's good to be back and I love what you are doing with your Steampunk pack, it's still one of my favorites, the bed with 'straps' on it so you can make bio-steam-enhanced monsters on it was an excellent addiction...wait, did I say addiction? I meant 'addition' heh heh, addition...well anyway I'm playing Minecraft again so I'll probably be sending you some Victorian goodies later on, if it's good enough of course.
Take care and keep up the excellent work :smile.gif:

Thank you! I appreciate your support and praise, glad you liked the pack so much, I am still working on it making changes or additions as Notch( ) expands the game, with spring arriving though, work is beginning to pile up around here so updates might be slow. I am however planning a fairly decent update sometime next week, primarily focusing on the GUI (finally) and some other 'interesting' additions. Stay tuned! And have Fun!
Grand new update! Bringing most of the pack up to speed on Notch's new stuff, and completing alot of stuff I had missed in previous update, see OP for details, comments welcome! Hope everyone is having as much fun using this pack as I am having making it!
