Love your skins. At first I couldn't even tell they were at a higher resolution, you did such a good job matching the already existing Minecraft aesthetic. (That's a good thing, I don't normally care for higher resolution textures)
I would like to make a suggestion. Could you improve the chicken skin? Right now I think it looks a lot like the default with a lot of noise. There's a number of wild birds that can be substituted, like quail, or even the red junglefowl, which are the ancestors of the modern chicken: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Junglefowl
Your creepers are truly terrifying. I think it's the gums.
Have you thought about a vengful ghost theme for the ghasts? Your meaty ghast looks great, I just prefer the ghostly ones.

Thank you. I will certainly take a look at a few alternatives to the chicken. To be honest I just had no idea what to do with it and i played around with a few alternatives and none of them worked out. I just started a "secret project" which I will be announcing once I have a little more to show for it. I have kinda been all over the place with what to do with this pack. I think it would be best to improve what I have before taking on anything else with the horror pack. That being said. I will play around with a more ghostly ghast and I will definitely be replacing the chicken.
Okay, so I'm having some real trouble installing this skin, and I've searched all over without finding anyone who posted something that would resolve my problem. I downloaded the pack, unzipped, deleted that thumbs file, expanded the Minecraft.jar file, replaced the mob skin files with the ones from this pack, then opened Minecraft, only to see that nothing had changed. I've tried this with both the Minecraft.jar file in the textures folder and the one in the .bin folder without any success. It seems to me that you would need to make that Minecraft file a .jar again after expanding it and replacing the files, but I don't know how to do this and I don't see it listed in your directions.
I also tried this with a texture pack other than the default one, however when I did that and tried to select it in the "Mods and Texture Packs" option in Minecraft, the zip file no longer changed any of the textures, let alone the mob skins.
I'd really appreciate any help, starting to feel really frustrated but I really want these skins.

Okay, well I just tried it myself and I didn't have any problems.. that was the old fashioned (.jar) way. I wasn't currently using the skins because I have been elbows deep in my next project. I know that the texture pack way doesn't seam to be supporting high resolution skins but placing in minecraft.jar still seems to work. When you say "expanded" what do you mean. I have never heard anyone say anything about needing to convert it back to a .jar. That being said,
1.right click minecraft.jar
2.select "open with" winrar archiver(or whichever program you use)
this should access the .jar without converting it to anything else.. I am not sure what you are doing that is doing that...
3.Open the mob folder and drag everything over(minus thumbs.db of course)
4. enjoy.
I am not sure what else to say.. If its in the right place in the jar it should work regardless of the texture pack you are using, unless that pack includes a mob folder which has 16x16 mobs in it. Some texture packs include a mob folder even if they only have the base game mobs in it.. so play on default to test. If you are using a mac the process may be slightly different... but I wouldnt know the details.. I am sorry I can't offer more.. good luck!
So I just applied my texture pack the cheap way (by placing my Minecraft App in the texture pack's folder), then added your skins to that pack, and now they work. The problem might be that I'm on a Mac, but I got it to work so I'm satisfied.
I'm using it with a modification of Doku's RPG texture pack, which looks absolutely stunning. I'll definitely recommend these skins to everybody.
You sir are one amazing gentleman, keep up the good work because this my friend, is some epic **** right here!!
I am in the works of something WAY BETTER... a complete themed texture pack with the works. GUI, particles, terrain, mobs, art, etc etc... A friends of mine is doing the sound since the sound mod as been update for beta... I am not prepared to post anything about it yet but it is well underway... Due to this project I am calling this set done for now... if Notch adds a new mob I will definitely make a version of it for this pack, but until that happens my focus is on the other project.

Wtf? I downloaded the pack, and I opened mobs in each file, and removed and replaced with your pack, sstarted up the game and NOTHING has changed! Why isn't it working?
You have to put it in minecraft.jar, I will update my OP tomorrow when I have more time. If you do that there is no reason for it not to work.. you do not need HD texture fix for mobs either. however, since the mobs are 32x32 scaling they do not work in the texture pack folder.
yeah..I left my computer on for a long time and had this skin on and now there are many things out side my door and they won"t go away! >.< How do I remove the skin.cause I might have read the instructions wrong and move everything to the mob folder. HALP! (many spelling errors XD)
quick sugestion this one and gloomcraft = good looking horror thing lol my freind showd me a screenshot of his place with this and gloomcraft and it looked kinda creepy with the greepers in a dark castle (he forgot the torches in some places one room was lit all the rest welll were dark
