Hi would it be possible to get a 256x256 version of the standasrd terrain file. Because there is a couple things i want to change and they are on my old painterly which is in a 256x256 format terrain.
Let me know when you're done with the doku thing and i'll make a video on it, also I have a few suggestions, which may take some work(or help) to do but it'd make it much better.
#1 I don't like black borders on stuff
#2 I don't like the idea off having ruby and gold on stuff that we don't craft out of those materials. We craft diamond tools out of sticks and diamonds.
No_Man, or anyone else for that matter, would you be kind enough to upload your texture pack? I really like the look of some of these customized texture packs you guys are posting screenshots of.
The alts are all in my sig, unless you mean the combination I use for the game....

So...after looking at all the armors I have in game now, I'm really liking how each armor has it's own feel. Sort of like a theme. We have the samurai armor, which looked amazing to begin with, followed by the Orcish Iron, which we have several alternates to, and then we have the awesome diamond and gold armors...
...the only one I'm not feeling (not to say it isn't FANTASTIC, just doesn't fit in with the themes) is the chain armor.
I propose that we fix this.
GERUDOKU PIXEL ARTISTS...ASSEMBLE!!!
I'm thinking of maybe adding some cloth to it, like a tabard or a belt over the chest? Maybe stylize the helmet a bit...

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have been searching the net for some time for an editor that would show me a grid of what I'm drawing. you know, so you can see if the edges mach up. well I found one: http://tilestudio.sourceforge.net/
I may just be blind, I could be using something with it already I don't know, but I thought I'd share it.
and here's a new netherack I made just fooling around with it:
Should I add it to the alts?
Also, I was thinking of doing the multi-tile textures like this:
would that work with the generator? I think it'd be better because you can just pick the matching set rather than each side, which may not match.

I say do it, make as many alts as possible. Even if its just a color change.

Hmmh, it won't work right now, but I can make it work, I have to do the same thing for beds anyway.
But it will take a ton of space if for example the only change is the colour of the top.
But for now, collect them like that.
Just, nothing else on the chests sheet :tongue.gif:
I know there was some other versions of the block break animation, but I'll be damned if I can remember where. These are the two I use though. The original GeruDoku and one I found somewhere.. sanguine I think? not sure.

I think it'd be epic if you could "Preview" a texture by clicking on it and having it show you an ingame use of the block/item that way people can see what it looks like in action. I'd be willing to take the pictures for you if you like.
I like the preview idea, if it's not too taxing to implement. For most stuff, though, it would probably make more sense in the long run to script some kind of basic texture mapping visualizer for cubes. It might take more work up front, but screenshotting a dozen different variations of each block type would almost certainly be even more of a pain.
Obviously for irregularly shaped objects, screenshotting would be the simpler solution, but for anything cube-shaped, scripting the page to create a preview on the fly would probably save everyone (by which i mean john_edward) a lot of sweat ;D

Would it be possible to set it up so that you could choose the chests wood color, then tack the locks and colored top on top of that? there, so far, are only three colors for the wood, but the locks have a number of variations. I think it'd make things simpler as far as choosing the color you want if you could pick each separately and have the generator put them together.
one more thing, updated ores food and crafts2 -and doors -and crafts1 -and gold items -and wood items

I always thought the iron armor didn't fit because it had the least amount of detail.

Look back a few pages. We fixed the crap outta the iron armor.
