Hey I have a few questions about the way you install this.
How do you use this texture pack if you don't want to change the minecraft.jar file at all?
Since Notch has made the game support texture packs, I was wondering what to do in order to get this texture pack along with the water/lava and other stuff working.
If I have to use the patcher, what do I do with it to not alter the minecraft.jar file but just the texture pack?
I'm confusing myself with these questions.. sorry if you are too :sad.gif:
All these questions are based off one initial assumption: This pack was supposed to be installed/applied by altering the minecraft.jar file with winRAR and copying and pasting stuff over and back and forth and up and down...
All so confusing...
Nonetheless, I recently got this other texture pack and it had a patch too for water/lava but I can't get it to patch just the texture without altering the minecraft.jar file and when it alters that file, the game won't load. I think it won't load because whatever it's doing to the file would only work by having edited it in the first place with winRAR.
The whole reason I don't want to edit the file with winRAR is because I would prefer to switch this on or off whenever I choose.

You HAVE to use the texture fix. The game does not support better than the default textures.

After you use the texture fix, you can only replace files in the minecraft.jar with winrar if they are the same resolution. For example Doku RPG is 32x32 so you will only be able to use png files of that resolution.

The only way to switch between different resolutions of textures is to have multiple minecraft.jar set for each resolution you want to use. Then switch them out depending on the pack you want to use.
The in-game pack selection should work as long as the packs you switch between are the same res.
Make sure you are selecting all the right options for the fix.

Well Tombones hasnt been on since the 20th so im guessing hes either got something important happening or this is on hiatus for a while or atleast until a stable version is out for enough time to get the textures to work...
Yeah, I'm still around. Been really busy between the holidays, work and WoW, so I haven't had a lot of time to play minecraft or make additions to gerudoku (especially with all the bugfix patches breaking the mods I use all the time)
The current version of gerudoku SHOULD work perfectly with the latest version of minecraft as long as the HD Texture Patch does. Please let me know if it doesn't.
I probably won't put out a new version until there's actually some new textures in the game that needs to be updated.. pretty happy with how the pack looks now, to be honest :smile.gif: Any update I could put out right now would mostly just add some extra alternate textures, and I don't feel like that's worth a whole new release by itself.

I patched it like the instructions said, started up Minecraft, logged in aaaaand...Blackscreen 'o Doom. Halp. :C

Learn to read instructions, the current release of the HD Texture fix isn't completely compatable with the current release of Minecraft. For it to work you have to uncheck/untick custom water and custom lava.
Bwuh...Derp. How did I miss that? :S
Pardon my stupidity, but ya don't have to be a jerk about it. ^^;
EDiT: Now I can log in, get the Mojang logo...And it crashes without a word. Just...Closes. :| What now?

I don't mean to be a Jerk but the amount of people who keep posting the same "problems" in this thread (and in the HD Texture fix thread) is ridiculous.
Sorry to have annoyed ya then, mate. :/ M'new here, and don't really have the time to dig through such a huge forum for answers. I /did/ use Search, but all I got were people complaining about the same problems, and people yelling at them for complaining. xD
Regardless, it's working now! Save for a few minor glitches like compass and watch not working, and pumpkins made of water and lava textures, lol. Thanks for the help.
Hey I think the texture pack or more likely the patcher makes it impossible to use SMP. I had to use the default to get online. Any idea when the patcher will be updated?
Ok i got the texture pack to work and now im not having any problems! yay!
I doubt it serves any purpose, but kinda neat, mysterious addition to the game. Anyone else see these ever?
WTF are we supposed to see in this picture?!?!
Why do people do this?!
Here is what I'm playing around with at the moment.

as always, read the patching instructions there to make sure you're not forgetting something, if you have problems with blackscreens and so on
