I'm loving the item selector by John_Edward and the diverse sheets everybody else is coming up with.
As for creating doku-style alternates suggested by Tyken, I'm sure there will be more brainstorming sessions like the one that happened for diamond items and armour. Keep it coming!
--
For the terrain sheets...
Just try to keep them on their own rows, if possible, as I generate them like that.
If they don't fit, put them under, but don't mix the rows.
Also there is no file limit, but try to fit as much in one sheet as possible.
--
To keep things nice, reorganizing could be in order too, putting the same item sets to the same rows.
For example, in the diamond sheet, the sword (made by tyken132? at least in his pack) is on the wrong row etc.
But that isn't anywhere near the top of the 'todo list', at least, I won't do it ;D
--
As for the credits, I'm going to ID tag the item positions and generate a nice credits file from that.
I won't change the sheets in the 3rd version, so just go to dokupack3, ( http://goo.gl/gXRPP )and tell the position of the item from there.
Like "3rd Diamond Pick is by me".
The generated credits file itself would list stuff like this:
User1 - Wood sword, Iron sword, Diamond helm, Diamond waist.
User2 - Stone sword, Diamond sword.
And I might add that to the site too.
i think just making a list of contributors would be better, i mean take the diamond tools. I made the shiny gemstone heads for all the tools, (using visigoth's tools as a template) and then, for example the axe was turned into a double axe by velimas, and then edited by others to have a different handle. Who would get the credit for one of the end products of that?

Preferably all of them :smile.gif:
If you took the Diamond Double-Axe and some other, and I knew who made all of the edits, it could read:
I'm not going to add this to all of the block though, only the weapons and armour, for now.
I mean, someone might be interested on who made that diamond sword that just saved them from certain death in the hand... umh... blast of a creeper, but hey, even we don't know who made earth :wink.gif:
---
I made my first tests with the terrain.png, and it works.
Now its just a ton of manual work to generate all of the blocks.
I already have a generator inside a generator inside a function...
We need to go deeper.

Visigoth-Shading, Color matching
lol, I see what you guys are wanting to do...I just hope people can stay cool about it and not start fighting over "Well I changed that pixle in the lower right corner damit! stuff like that :] "
plus its going to be an extreem amount of work to trace all the edits, lets just start by giving the original guys credit then move on from there @[email protected] prety much all the items I edited were from Hozz, that dude rocks.
I dunno, I think it might just be best to say its a comunity effort ? and if anyone relly wanted to know who did what all they would have to do is go back and read through all the post >.>
EDIT: OH MAN! I was thinking about the credits and it gave me a head ach, there was allot of stuff even befor I got into the Doku style and since then its been like three months and allot of people constantly making small changes all the time @[email protected] with a few making completly new items that then got thrown into the mix and then lots of small changes made to those ~_~ and when dose an item stop being someone elses design and start being yours? this just makes my head hurt thinking about it
I love this thread. being able to work with complete strangers over the internet, editing and altering each others work and producing something great, is simply fantastic.
That said, if we're doing credits, it really is best to simply name contributers. Alot of these files (read, most of them) have been passed around and altered by three or four people before coming to a final result.
I think it's the most polite way to go about it, and honestly I don't imagine anyone minds, we've all been working together so much here that what better way to be credited than as a team?

The first phase of my customizer shall be finished soon.
That is, full generation of the items.png :smile.gif:
After that, I'm going to refine and smooth the quirks, glitches and crappy code and tackle the terrain.png for real.
The system is currently limited to 16 alternatives per item, but that is an artificial limit, as that is the limit of my current functions.
And page layout :smile.gif:

Boken edit. I like how this came out, fits nicely with the samurai armor.
Well I installed the GERUDOKU texture pack a couple of days ago. But I began finding problems. One problem is that whenever I play minecraft through the downloaded version, it black screens after a while when I play. And the internet version doesn't work at all. Please help, I have the latest java update, I did everything right with the patcher and there is no animated bugs. Just that it black screens a lot and annoys me.

I agree
It's cool with me too, without this community I would have a backwards unshaded sword XD
among many other things...
Here's something different. Pumpkins annoy me. I mean don't get me wrong, I adore halloween and I love jack-o-lanterns.
I just don't think that a pumpkin should be found growing with a face, and I don't think most people see them and think 'MAN THAT WOULD MAKE A GREAT LIGHT FOR MY HOUSE!'
So I made Runestones. The sources are from some of the alternate doku textures, and the rune is hand drawn. It looks identical to a rune drawn by Runesmith, but it is a pixel-to-pixel drawing. Not sure why I did it that way instead of copypasta, but I swear I drew the rune. It's kinda like using tracing paper, I guess.
Anyway, I want to note that the screenshots were taken on my personal screenpack, not gerudoku. I just felt like sharing with the gerudoku guys, because you're all that awesome.

Thats pretty nice actually. Would be cool if the rune sorta dimly lit up as well though. Also that texture pack your using is very nice. What one is it?

Looks like John Smith's. Probably an edited version.
Yar. It's a very highly edited mix of screenpacks, mostly Doku and JohnSmith.
I'm going to make a few edits to the runestone later and post screenshots of it in use with gerudoku. I don't like derailing the thread with questions about the screenpack. I'm here for Gerudoku, guys.

It looks really good, its just 3 pixels too wide.
Noticed it and fixed it right before you posted. :smile.gif: Good catch!
