That looks pretty good, some of it could use some work and it appears to be a bit blurry but overall it looks nice. Would you mind resizing some of the alternates after you're done?
Thank, and by no means is this near done. I'm very ocd about these kinds of things. I wont go "official" with it until its next to perfection. The screen shots are just stuff I managed to throw together on the fist day of playing with the Idea. I all ready have made some vast improvements to the textures. I've honestly never made a texture pack before so I'm learning the tricks of the trade as I go... which leads to quite a bit of bumbling on my part.
Feel free to share those tricks, I'd love to improve apon on my editing skills. I don't really know how to do much but you can always come to me if you need help/suggestions.
Hey Geru (or who ever is in charge here), I'm making a HD 126x126 remake of your texture pack. I hope thats cool w/ you. I love the Gerudoku texture pack and I love the 16bit era feel it has. But w/ some of the other HD textur packs competing for my heart, I said to myself, "why not just make an HD version of gerudoku?". So I am. But before I post anything for others to use, I want to make sure it's cool w/ you. Also, because I still have not remade all the textures and my pack contains some of your work still :SSSS:. Aslo some of it (like the inventory) I want to keep the classic look if thats ok w/ you.
Here are some recent screen shots...
WTF dude.
Go you. Go for it. That is gonna be awesome. Make sure you're doing 128X128 though, not 126X126.
The only thing I'd be concerned about is how, aesthetically, its going to look basically the same... The screenshots look like the 32x, even though you can see its 128x...
tbh, it looks like he's just smudging it to fit a higher resolution. Don't look that great imo. You need to work on making it more pixely/ defined around the edges.
my post got lost in a sea of people quoting a huge image file XD
I love the textures, but is there a way to keep the original crosshair? I play pvp and it makes it harder to aim
The crosshair texture is in the "icons.png" file in the "items" folder. You can compare the default icons.png with gerudoku's and just copy it in from there. Some of the various custom packs may also already have alternate-crosshair files.
@drascoll, be my guest with the super-HD version. Whatever upscaling method you're using looks surprisingly decent. Some of the blurrier areas will need to be touched up, as lilyo mentioned, but it could be a lot worse too. Good luck :wink.gif:
Figured I'd share my particles + icons.png: (some credit to Johnsmith for some of it)
Though I love Doku, I'm not a fan of its GUI and inventory.
Here's my gui.png:

Thank you, and honestly I probably could have got away with 64x, yes I am working at 128x, it was a mistake when I posted.

TBH, for most of the textures at the time I uploaded the screen shots I did just smudge and blur most the textures to fit a higher resolution. But I am going back and individually painting each tile to best represent Doku in HD, if I wanted it to be "pixely" why would never bother even making it HD?
Honestly, I appreciate the criticism, because it helps me focus towards working harder to make it work.
Here are some examples of some more work I've done to it scenic yesterday, After all its a work in progress. But, I think I'll hold of posting much more until I'm ready to show of a final project.
Now you all can test out all of the alternate textures I've listed, and tombones(As well as you other texture designers/editors) can test out and perfect your texture pack before releasing.

overall i love your texture pack because the water wasn't see though so i deiced to edit your texture pack to add the old doku water in it i suggest u put the file up the start for the people that don't like your water and want to go back to doku's water.
WHoa.. craft sheet is a big group so be prepared. I would suggest a wood craft sheet and stone craft seperate.
Here are some more textures to add to the craft sheet.
Edit: updated green textures
oh and tyken I remember from one of you latest videos that you lost you green bed item sprite
TADA!

I...think I love you, now get to work doing it for the rest of the stuff, I Want more green >:3
Hmm some of the green stuff seems a bit..."Dull", not sure why.
Also thanks for separating all of my compiled alternates(and then some!) you may want to put them all into folder together when you're done, that way you can find them all easier.
Also this texture pack is becoming kind of a community project, hasn't it? Tons of people are contributing and adding kick ass and doing things to improve it all the time. I just wish we had someone making more alternate textures in the doku-style.
Since some people might want to use the changes i made to my gerudoku pack, here is my terrain file (items are the same as current gerudoku, so no need for me to post them)
-snip-
I just want to point out that the wood i use, while i did just take it from the alternatives, it was too dark, so i changed its color a bit to match how the old wood looked.
I also take no credit for any of the textures i put in my pack, i didn't make them and i think it's awesome work from all the authors.
One thing i did manually change was the furnace/dispenser, instead of having the normal top seen in gerudoku, i changed it to use a differently tintet version of the half-stone slab, and fixed the sides so they didn't have lines to the old top. I also changed the "speaker" on the jukebox so that it didn't have the small metal thingy on all sides when used for the noteblocks, it looks closer to the original minecraft noteblock.
The iron door was kinda my creation, put together by several bits and pieces from other doors until i ended up removing the top window and making it more "dark iron" wood door is from John Smith if i remember correctly, however slightly changed tint as i thought it looked too much like leather before
Ah! thanks for that, I really wanted to lighten up the wood but I honestly had no idea how to do it, I'll steal that from you. Also I suggest trying out the new wheat I use, much easier to tell when its fully grown and looks really nice and rpgish as well.

For the terrain sheets...
Just try to keep them on their own rows, if possible, as I generate them like that.
If they don't fit, put them under, but don't mix the rows.
Also there is no file limit, but try to fit as much in one sheet as possible.
--
To keep things nice, reorganizing could be in order too, putting the same item sets to the same rows.
For example, in the diamond sheet, the sword (made by tyken132? at least in his pack) is on the wrong row etc.
But that isn't anywhere near the top of the 'todo list', at least, I won't do it ;D
--
As for the credits, I'm going to ID tag the item positions and generate a nice credits file from that.
I won't change the sheets in the 3rd version, so just go to dokupack3, ( http://goo.gl/gXRPP )and tell the position of the item from there.
Like "3rd Diamond Pick is by me".
The generated credits file itself would list stuff like this:
User1 - Wood sword, Iron sword, Diamond helm, Diamond waist.
User2 - Stone sword, Diamond sword.
And I might add that to the site too.

would anyone be willing to make a new wood shovel? It's the least evolved tool here.
What can I say, I have nothing to say....

As I slacked all yesterday to make that, I'm going to have to actually work today, but I'm going to tackle the terrain.png next, asap.

Keep the sheets coming, but if anyone has too much time in their hands, the sheets could be edited to use the layout I currently have, just add them to these files:
