i love your pack, but some of the newest textures you have chosen i dont love as much as i did the older ones or some of the alternatives. have you ever though of setting up something like how painterly pack is? its simple to customize it. if someone wants to customize your pack it takes hours or days of hard work, maybe even weeks if you havnt been able to find the right textures

Do you know how bloody hard a the painterly customizer was to program, probably pretty hard. and it doesn't take more than 10 minutes to switch out some of the textures. look at tykens alternate list for example, it has everything from the newest update.

I think if it takes even up to 1 hour of work to find a texture from an older version of this pack, in this thread, you aren't very good at searching. And it only takes like 1 minute to swap textures from somewhere else, then another minute or so to repatch your minecraft with your newly customized texture pack.
I customized mine today with the help of Tyken123's alternates. I modified a bunch of stuff and it probably took only around 10 minutes.
I've been playing with Visigoth's idea to make a scimitar for the golden sword (since it's somewhat middle eastern looking) but it just isn't coming together right for me. Maybe one of you can take a 'STAB' at it. Get it? Sta--oh, fine. Here's the picture.
OK so im kinda Noobish to the whole mixing thing but I've seen the tutorial on the terrain texture switching is it the same with the items or is there something else i should know. because i love this pack but i like somethings from some of you guys and some from the others.
any help would be nice and keep up the good work guys.

well... curved items are a pain with this low of res, but here's my shot at it.
the blade could use a little recolor, but overall i think it worked out pretty well.
small fix, for those who play with maximized window (unsure if the toggle-able fullscreen has this problem as well)
when you maximize the minecraft client (NOT using fullscreen, which is toggled with F11 or whatever), the targeting icon (the single-pixel dot in the center) has this annoying gold-colored splotch
the problem is, that when you maximize the screen, for whatever reason it drawn the cursor wrong, and pulls partially from the health/armor icons as well
so, to fix this, i just took the little "connectors" off of the health indicators (since armor isn't affecting the cursor)
i'll keep this updated with each version of GERUDOKU, as long as is needed
tombones, feel free to put this in your OP, and/or rehost
EDIT: hey tombones, would you be interested in doing a customizer thing like painterly? all your/doku's fans are making all these compilations with awesome new textures, alot of which i think i'd probably add into my personal pack (if i wasn't so damn lazy lol)

Hey guys I'm getting grey grass when trying to use Biome Sidegrass fix with GeruDoku.
How to fix it?
That is the biome (plus sidegrass fix) in action. If you look carefully, the grass is tinged with a dull spruce/olive shade which is too close to grey for my liking. I personally don't like some of the grass biomes, particularly the one in your pic, so I have stuck with a universal "grassy" green in my terrain png. Biome compliant grass is grey and I bet a hundred Lapiz Lazuli ores the grass texture in your terrain png is grey!

something to think about
Huh. Glad you figured out a workaround, that's one weird glitch. I play with a maximized window (not true fullscreen) but I haven't noticed it, so maybe it only happens in certain resolutions
Since several people seem to be having the problem, I'll consider using your edited version of the icons file in the pack (if the health indicators don't look too weird without the "connectors" ingame)
I would love to HAVE a painterly-style customizer for 32x32 textures, but as mentioned before, the effort and skills required to set one up are way beyond me. The other tricky part is that (unlike painterly) I didn't actually make most of the textures in this pack or the various alternates, so rehosting them on some site as part of an "official" doku-style customizer seems a little dubious.
Really though, there are enough tools available now to make texture swapping more accessible (especially TileMaster) that I'm not sure a specially-tailored customizer is worth the trouble. I'd almost rather that people take a few hours to learn basic cutting and pasting skills if they want to make their own custom pack, it's pretty rewarding to know how to do in the long run :wink.gif:
@velimas, i only just noticed the water texture in your mix. It looks sweet, although the animations in game are slightly too busy imo. still great mix though.
and here is a slightly changed aiming reticule i made:
edit: oohhhh,...right. i should include the icons.png
Thank you. This pack is really great. I changed the sign to signb, changed the pumpkinblur to an unobtrusive Halo blur, and I added the original redstone wire (the terrain.png doesn't include the 4 redstone squares, and placing them resulted in just brown blocks). It's somewhat unfortunate that my giant 1 block per pixel cake I made is no longer a valid representation for myself, but it was well worth it.

Very nice job on it! I can do curves... and I can do 45 degree tilts... but it seems both at once makes my head spin! XD

I gave the blade a recolor. :]
nicely done. now if only I could get it to match these gold tools.
Honestly, this is BEAUTIFUL.
Except, the blocks of minerals.
I hate them so much I won't even download the texture pack because of them.. :S
I know the feeling. That's one of the dilemmas I've faced for quite some time: I really like the texture pack, but a vein of blotches dead center in every block looks like complete ****. They're supposed to be random bits in the block; not large chunks of diamond jutting out and pockets of redstone and the like. It just looks really dumb seeing a wall of iron with one large chunk of ore dead center of each block. It's like someone burried a stack of Halo monitors in the ground or something. It looks particularly ridiculous seeing a wall of uniform redstone pockets. Unfortunately, I really did like the original ores (they have a nice pseudo-random feel to them and are noticeable without being gaudy) and also the mossy stone (it looked like some sort of corruption). I could always replace them with the originals, but they would look completely out of place.
The green gems in the chests and such also look really gaudy and out of place.
Furthermore, the creeper is just a lime green Hawaiian **** monster now, so...there's that. I might eventually get around to replacing it.
That being said, even with the ores and gems, it's quite a beautiful pack. It just took me a long time before I was finally willing to trade my precious ores and mossy cobblestone for the stuff.

And this is why there are alternates.
And here is a mob skin alternates page, hopefully you can find a creeper that more suits your style. viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=147983
dude you need to make an alt grass with flowers, it dosn't hold the same feel of playing with dokus unpatched pack before i knew how to patch. + =HAPPY :biggrin.gif:

So full of WIN! (^_^)b
