Just got a patch from the creator of our download software which may fix this. I'll send you something in PM if it looks like it is working.
Cool, thanks. I probably won't get around to putting anything out until thursday or friday now, so no great rush :smile.gif:

I've been editing some of the textures too, specifically the coal and the lava.
But I'm not quite sure how the lava/water works, are the 2x2 textures on the right glow/wave effects?
I thought they were textures for the moving water.
The coal looks like some disgusting alien thing so I just made it a big lump like the redstone :sad.gif:
From what I've seen, the square block of 4 lava textures on the right side of terrain.png are all used for flowing lava. Not sure it makes that much of a difference, though, since it still looks pretty crummy with just the static texture scrolling. Lava really ought to be more animated than that imo
Currently I'm planning to include a slightly-tweaked version of johnsmith's custom lava animations (which are pretty nicely made, really) as an option, but I'm not completely happy with them.. they don't really match the pixel style of the rest of the pack. I'm having a devil of a time finding anything better, though.
You'd think out of all the 16-bit games with lava levels at least one of them would have a decent tiled magma animation, but exhaustive searches of spriterip websites have turned up empty so far :sad.gif:
So with a recent mod, I finally got the Portal and the Watch working but... The portal doesn't actually move. It's a full block now, just doesn't spin. Will the HD patcher fix that or is it a terrain thing.
*EDIT*
Nevermind, I just noticed that the HD patcher fixes it. Except it messed up the watch again...
Yeah, the new HD patch fixes portal texture animation nicely, but the watch and compassneedle still isn't quite fixed.. the items themselves display okay, but their moving part don't. Already notified xau of this, so hopefully he'll come up with a fix soon.
I think it's because the item.png or whatever is 16x16 instead of 32x32. It'd probably be for the best to get that updated to 32x32 anyway so I'm already working on it for myself.
I kind of prefer the charm of 16x items. Whenever dusty finishes his 32x items, though, I'll definitely include those as an option (with some edits, probably). I'd be happy to see what you come up with, though.
Well so far, all I did was scale it to be twice the size it was and it works perfectly now. I'm gonna try and keep it all about the same as it was though... just slightly tweaked.

Yup, just did the same thing. The next version (released before midnight EST) will have working clocks & compasses, among other things
Then download the new version of GERUDOKU here or here. Install with the instructions in the OP (they're easier now!!)
Changelog: Small edits & changes to several textures. New craftbench tools, darker hellstone, lighter mud, better log rings, more tileable clay. Fixed compatibility with mcpatcher-1.1.9 (portal textures, compass, and sundial should now display correctly). Added (slightly edited) custom animated lava from JohnSmith's pack. Added alternate "more traditional" pumpkinblur for loser babies
I really have to say a BIG thank you to Tombones for picking up Doku's and continuing to do such a wonderful job.
The latest pack is damn near perfect.
I have tried almost every pack out there 16, 32, 64, 128 and I ALWAYS come back to this beautiful pack.
Nice metroid HUD. Could a MW2 or Black Ops HUD be made?
Probably, but not by me. You might try asking in this thread, there are a few other FPS HUDS in there viewtopic.php?f=25&t=74743

Thanks! I enjoy putting the pack together almost as much as I enjoy actually playing minecraft, so I'd keep doing it even if nobody was interested. It's gratifying that so many other people seem to like using it too :smile.gif:
Ah ok I thought the one i asked about it was the poster stupid forums screwing it up.
Anyway atlest i know now what it is.

Great texture pack! I only have one qualm about it and it's a personal issue. The new ores [and coal] kind of make my skin crawl. they're rather nicely don't and much more prominent but they make get this weird tingly sensation. I was hoping you could release a terrain.png with the original ores so that I could continue to use your awesome texture pack. Pretty please?

Yep, known issue with xau's patcher. Hopefully he'll fix it soon.
Kind of wondering how your compass needle is displaying in that screenshot, since it doesn't show up for me...

First, make sure you download the latest version of xau's HD texture fix (1.1.9). This will fix portal, sundial & compass needle display issues.
Then download the new version of GERUDOKU here or here. Install with the instructions in the OP (they're easier now!!)

I have a question about one pic you have displayed also it's the pack image
How or were is the door knockers located in the pack?
I don't know who gordonfreechmen is but the doorknockers are just paintings, one of the 1x1 variety.
