When I updated my clock and compass are broke. The clock is just purple and the compass has the dial but the only other part is the top left corner printed twice on the top... I am really confused?
Haha, yall are getting good at stealing my thunder. Nice work all around. Those repeater and oreblock textures are really slick, rich. I might have to source a few of those for future versions...
As mentioned, I haven't had time to even download the update to test any of this stuff yet, so if someone could post screenshots of the new stuff ingame (bookshelf, bed, redstone, repeater block) it would be a big help very helpful!!
All of your thunder are belonging to us.
Meme aside, we post because we love you. Though if you want I could keep my edits to myself but I think you enjoy them too much for that.
haha, by all means, keep them coming

Sounds like you didn't use the latest version of the HD texture fix to install. The instructions are in the first post of this thread.

Just downloaded the update and everything looks good so far. Really liking the bed you made. Thanks for the update (again)!
Glad you like it. I thought it looked pretty decent too, considering it's just an upscaled 16x painterly texture. Hopefully I'll be able to put together a decent 32x version along the same lines sometime soon, but in the meantime, it'll do :>
I was finally able to test (instead of going to sleep like i should have three hours ago) and noticed the saturation/brightness of the repeater block's top texture didn't match the sides, so I just reuploaded the pack with a quick fix for that
everything else looked okay from what I saw, so this version will probably remain the latest build until the next time minecraft adds more new stuff
now i am going to bed and not even thinking about textures again for at least a week
I missed that bleeding obsidian that you used. I'm going to incorporate that back into my version! It looks shmexy.
I noticed my repeater icon is a bit busy when you're holding it. I think its because there are some transparent pixels on it that minecraft renders as opaque.
Could you by any chance make the redstone wire, that is not powered, a really dark red color? Or atleast change it from black? I think the current black color is kinda fugly :/
I'm gonna use your texture pack either way tho, 'cause it's the most awesome one.
Not bad at all! Also, thanks for keeping those alternates updated.. that selection of different "bleeding obsidian" tiles should come in handy once we find out what the hell it's actually supposed to be

Need some help here:
Redstone wire in off-state is 100% black on any surface.
On-state is ok.
Used latest Xau patcher & Gerudoku pack for 1.3
How to fix?
Like to understand where the redstone wire pixels get their red color from so I might be able to fix it myself.
Assuming that off-state redwire has black assigned to it by mistake.
Cheers!
Talk to Notch, he's the one who broke it. AFAIK there were 3 or 4 options for designing redstone wire shading that were presented to mojang, and they chose the one that was least friendly to custom texture packs. I've tried a few different methods, but unlit redstone wire always comes out pitch black.
I would like to think that Notch recognizes that this is a bug (and a poor way to implement shading to start with), but this is the same guy who completely removed 6 of the oreblock textures instead of just fixing the bug that kept them from displaying. It's starting to look like notch either doesn't pay attention to custom textures, or just doesn't care.

Hmmm, gerudoku was by far my favourite pack.. evar!
however... it would now seem for some unknown reason you've screwed up the items in first person when you actually equip them, i ask why? those items were by far the best available, (in case you dont know which ones i am on about, im referring to the ones from the yogscast 'shadow of israphel' series.)
i was wondering if you would be just updating that pack with beds? as this is what i saw to be more obvious rather than changing the whole items look because to be quite honest, they look kind of .... crap.. :tongue.gif:
Yeeeaahhh, you're going to have to be a bit more specific than that. I welcome criticism, but "look kind of crap" tells me nothing. Not going to track down some random youtube video to figure out what you're talking about.
Regarding weapons, I'm very happy with how they look now, and I'm unlikely to change them anytime soon. If you want to use hozz's weapon set or some variation from an older version of gerudoku, you're gonna have to handle that yourself.
In the latest build there's an "alt armor items" file that switches out the armor with eld's more "standard" armor items&skins (they match each other better), and also flips the shovels back into their default orientation, since the same people seemed to be complaining about those two things. I won't be making a dozen different variations of items.png to suit different tastes, though, it's just too impractical to maintain.

I would hope that if enough artists complain, Notch might consider changing it. I made a topic for this purpose, feel free to check it out: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=191247
I downloaded and patched the texture pack but all my nether blocks are displayed as water, not sure what i did wrong. followed the instructions to the letter three times in a row and same result every time.
thanks for your time, this really looks like a good pack.

Silly me... looks like i had 1.12_01 and they made 1.12_02 like an hour later :tongue.gif:

Yeah, the clock and compass almost always break after major updates. Fortunately xau is usually able to fix the patcher within a few hours, though.

The only reason your nether blocks would be showing up as water is if the HD texture fix patcher didn't install the pack successfully. Are you sure that you grabbed the latest version?
GENERATION 17: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.
