So, I'm having a little trouble here. I can only install the Gerudoku texture pack OR the Mo' Creatures mod. If I install the texture pack, it removes the creatures mod. If I reinstall the creatures mod (manually or with TFC), it either doesn't work or removes the texture pack.
Is anyone else having this problem? Better yet, does anyone know how to fix it?
have you tried using xua's patcher after mo' creatures?
have you tried using xua's patcher after mo' creatures?
Yeah. If I use the patcher first and then mo' creatures, the patch disappears. If I reverse the order (creatures THEN patcher), mo' creatures disappears.
I can't find where it is, but there seems to be some conflict between the two.
To be honest, I'm not so fond about the dye icons in the items.png. They don't look so unique from eachother, since most of them are on pieces of cloth (?) and are the same icons, only with different colors. I'd switch them around with Danscottbrown's, but I'm too lazy.
Just my input there, but otherwise, it's a fantastic texture pack! You get better with every release.
I went back and forth on those, but eventually I decided that the dyes really shouldn't look unique. Once you craft them from their component materials (bones, roses, etc) you've essentially rendered them down into powder/paste. Think of them like paints on a canvas. At that point you don't need to see the mortar and pestle, just the blobs of color you get out of it (the cloth backing is there so you don't get your hands dirty :wink.gif:
The only dyes with unique shapes are ones that have natural sources and aren't ground up (inksacs, coco beans, lapis lazuli). No idea how you're supposed to dye cloth with a rock (rubbing really hard??) but that's how it works in game, so that's how it's represented in the items.
Now that you mentioned it, I guess that'd make sense.
By the way, artists use charcoal on some works of art, so you could probably dye it with that. I'm not sure, I'm not Leonardo Da Vinci. :tongue.gif:
Thanks.
Yeah if you look up how dyes are crafted some of them have to be cooked, and others get mixed with bone dust,
so for the one's that get cooked we put them in a metal pan/ pot and the ones that got mixed with bone dust "well there would have to be some sort of bineder" so we made them a paste...the papper/ cloth just makes sence like he said "so ya dont get messy" fun times :]
I think of the lapis lazuli as chalk/ "or like charcoal" like you said but even then it relly dosent make sence "in the real world you would have to grind it and add in some sort of bineder like leinseed oil...or it would just brush off" but you cant allways be realistic :/ I guess :tongue.gif:
hey all, registed just to rain praise upon tombones and friends for carrying on with doku's pack. Ive always loved its look.
I downloaded the latest test pack and edited a couple of the files to change textures with some that i preferred from the older versions (wood lined cobblestones, grey bricks, blue zelda bomb tnt, etc) and also swapped some of the mob skins about.
Ive since had no luck patching the game to use the texture pack. Everything is the right size / dimensions, but none of the textures want to apply themselves to the game. any ideas?
cheers.
PM me or just reply with the terrain.png, I'll tell you if it works. :tongue.gif:
Hey guys I'm a noob to all this skin stuff but right now I'm using the Painterly pack but the weapons and armour look poo. Is there a way to use the weapon and armour skins from this pack with the pack I've got?
Short answer: no.
Long answer: painterly is a 16x texture pack, so if you wanted to use the gerudoku weapon and armor item icons with it, you'd have to upscale the rest of the pack to 32x and then copy the icons you want into the upscaled items.png. The other items would still look a lot more pixelated in comparison, and you'd also have to install the upscaled pack with the HD patcher instead of just using the built in texture installer. not really worth it.
If you just want the armor skins, you can just copy them out of the armor folder in gerudoku and into the armor folder in painterly. Half of the default armor skins in the current build ARE from painterly, though. Unless you're talking about the armor skins from Eld's pack that are in the last "official" release of gerudoku.
can you plz add wildgrass hope i'm not asking too much
It's already included, but because wildgrass now has modloader support, the grass textures aren't in terrain.png anymore. You will need to copy the wildGrass folder out of GERUDOKU.zip and copy it into your minecraft.jar
I took foloder out of Gerudoku and nothing do i need a mod installed?

Install the wildgrass mod however its instructions tell you to. Then copy the wildGrass folder (that you copied out of gerudoku.zip) INTO your minecraft.jar. If you don't know what minecraft.jar is or how to copy files into it, try asking your best friend, google
I noticed something strange while messing around with the furnace/dispenser texture not lining up with the top.
If you look there, one is fine while the exact same one next to it is off by about one. I think its a problem on notches end, not yours.
Also pumpkins are backwards, though I think that's on his end, too.
Why would that be a problem on Notch's part? The furnace top doesn't line up because block resolution is 32x32, therefor you can't have a center pixel... (the dark line between the two "bricks")
