Unsupported test preview build. Everything should work, but if it doesn't, tough!! Just kidding. Please report any problems you encounter here so I can fix them before the final release
There are also some adjustments to the defaults that might be slightly controversial (ore blocks, for example) so if there's any change that you REALLY HATE, mention it here so i can bask in your tiny, tiny tears
Haven't written instructions yet for the new texture swap system, but it's pretty easy to figure out if you know how to unzip a zip file (you do know how to unzip a zip file, don't you)
Also, the credits haven't been updated, but most of the new textures are courtesy dusty, danscottbrown, johnsmith, lilyo, visigoth, and (of course) doku. It will probably take a while to sort out who did what, so thanks in advance for all your efforts and let me know if I left out anybody!!
but why have you changes the gold, iron, dia and lapis block? :biggrin.gif: i liked the old ones more :biggrin.gif:
edit: it looks like my lapis ore.. that i have stolen and lighten up :biggrin.gif:
In the latest default terrain.png for beta 1.2, it appears that FOR SOME IDIOTIC REASON Notch decided to removed the "side" and "bottom" textures from the oreblocks entirely (rather than just fixing the oreblock texture display bug he introduced months ago). This suggests to me that he isn't planning to support multi-textured oreblocks going forward.
Doku's oreblocks don't look so hot when the top texture gets used for all sides of the block IMO, so I went with the alternate dusty-derived oreblock textures instead. Apparently people who like to cheat and build statues & junk out of oreblocks creative-style prefer them anyway.
FORTUNATELY FOR YOU, I included an alternate terrain.png with the old oreblocks. Unzip GERUDOKU TEST.zip, open the folder, unzip "alt oldstyle oreblocks.zip" (click yes if prompted to overwrite anything), zip GERUDOKU TEST.zip back up correctly, and use that new zip file to install with
You should add me to the credits ;P
Pine tree leaves, bookcase, and lily pads are all made by me.
You should also add that shad dude to the list, as he made the birch tree and all that. You should also add his pumpkins, as they look 1000 times better than the ones you're currently using. His sandstone looks better too. Dusty's doesn't fit the theme very well.

If you mean the pumpkins here, I don't really like them, honestly. They're kind of.. sloppy, for lack of a better term. I'm not completely happy with my current ones, but at least they look somewhat pixeled.
Haven't actually checked out the sandstone in game yet, so we'll see.
um i followed the list, but it doesn't work. I get one of those "your minecraft has crashed", what should i do?
btw i'm on mac, does that matter?
If you used the latest mac version of the patcher to install, it shouldn't. Whenever you start getting blackscreens/crashes on load, it's usually a good idea to delete your bin folder (wherever steve jobs has hidden it) and let the minecraft client redownload a fresh install before trying to patch again. I know almost nothing about macs, though, so I can't be much more helpful than that :sad.gif:
1. Download the texture pack above.
2. Download the latest version of Xau's HD texture fix patcher.
3. Run the patcher (make sure the Minecraft client isn't running).
4. Click "Browse" next to "Texture Pack" and double-click the pack you wish to install.
5. Under "Options", make sure that everything is checked.
6. Click "Patch".
7. Close any of the windows you opened during this installation.
8. Run the Minecraft client. The texture pack should now be correctly installed with working animated water/lava/fire and no graphical glitches.

go to library, application support, .minecraft, delete bin and try again.
I think the ore blocks look pretty cool but they dont look very good in large numbers say if you were building something with them. I switched mine back to the older vers. Also I was wondering why the gold tools look like the diamond tools now.

See, I feel exactly the opposite about the ore blocks, so there's no pleasing everybody :biggrin.gif: At least swapping in the old ones is relatively easy.
Dusty's new diamond tools are cool, but they looked a bit too ornate and fancy to me for regular use (especially the damn heart sword) so I made a few touch ups and put them in the gold slots. I tried to edit the diamond tools to stand out from the others, while still looking practical. Hopefully gold tools will become more useful in future updates so they won't just lie around in your chests looking pretty.
tested just about everything besides wildgrass(may try that out later) and everything seems to work fine with no real bugs that I can find. Water and lava seem to flow still, no textures out of place. Seems to be fine to me!
I did notice a few things I didn't like, the only main issue that can't be switched out with an alternate are the bricks, they look....weird, luckly I was able to take the one from your old texture pack.
Also! while I was checking things out I decided to do my own remix of your remix (I love yours but I switched out only a few textures to suit me preferences)
Thanks for the feedback. And yeah, I'll need to look into the bricks again.. was trying to make them fit the pack's overall color scheme a bit better, but I might have made them too low-contrast in the process.
btw, nice job on that cow statue. Afraid I'll probably stick with dusty's new cow skin as the default now, but the old black & white one will always be around as an alternate :>
I think that the hoes should be better looking from steel forward. They are too crude looking. Better material should mean better look, I think. For example, for the rest of the tools, they look better with each better material, but with hoes, they all look like wooden except they have ornaments. The part where you hold should be straight from steel forward, and so should the pointy part. But, other than that, I really like it :biggrin.gif: <-- Not yet diamond, you still have to mine it out (fix it up a bit more) Please fix, I really love this pack.

I already switched the cow and the sheep back, the new cow looks...I dunno, blurry? and its face looks similar to its butt. Anyway! If theres anything I can do for you just ask. I plan on making a new installation video, too.

I might try to make the blade look slightly sharper for iron and diamond, but otherwise I think the shape of dusty's scythes are pretty much perfect and would prefer not to mess with them too much.
fix'd
