Sorry you're having trouble. Problem is, right now Minecraft is a pretty unstable and resource-hogging game to start with, so the (very slight) extra strain of 32x textures could possibly be pushing your computer over the edge into crash territory. As someone on another forum put it, "Notch uses OpenGL as if it had a garbage collector (hint: it doesn't)"
Fortunately, some significant optimizations are coming (possibly even in the next update!) that should help lighten the load. In the meantime, your best bet is to do the following:
-make sure "Limit Framerate" is set to ON in the settings
-make sure the view distance is set to "Normal" at most
-back up your saves every ~20 minutes so you can revert back after a crash
That's the best I can do.. the rest is up to Mojang and/or modders, depending on who figures out how to clean up Notch's code properly first
Thanks for the reply, wasn't expecting one so quickly. Well, I suppose it could be taxing my system to a degree, but I do get over a few hundred FPS with frame limit off and view distance at max. Running a GTX 460 (SuperClocked Edition) and an i5 760, but it does raise my GPU temp to 70C at times which I wasn't expecting. That's the type of temp I get while running a Crysis caliber game.
My brother just told me he barely gets over 50C on his card, though it's a GTX 430. I'm not sure it has anything to do with GPU temp or system load, but I won't rule it out. I'll try it out with the frame limit on and decrease my view distance by one, just to see if it'll decrease the chances of a crash occurring. My guess would be it's a combination of the extra load the textures put on the game along with the nature of the game itself being a beta, but ah well. I'll give it another go since I really can't seem to let go of playing with this texture pack haha. I don't even want to use any others.
Edit: Oh yeah, what's the impromptu way to back up your save? Just started playing again after a few months so things like that have left my memory. If I can do that and ease the losses of a crash I won't mind them at all so much. I just hate randomly losing items, haha.

this is a amazing pack there r just a few things i dont like....like the brick i like what doku had before just not a fan of the red bricks kinda looks bad when building other than the few things keep up the good work
Amazing texture pack! Honestly one of my favorite packs, only tied with Glimmar's. There are a few things that could be improved, but overall it's great. One thing that takes away from it is my lack of animated water, which from from your videos really adds to the pack. I've used Xau's patcher but so far the only time it's worked for me is when I uncheck animated water/lava.
Am I doing something wrong or have I not downloaded something?
If you could help with this it would be extremely appreciated. And hell, here's a diamond in advance
c'mon people.....there's a good amount of new textures to update. Be patient until then. I have to do the same work, and my pack isn't as popular....but there's like 8-12 new things to make my own....
