It sounds like you either don't have the latest version of the patcher, or your minecraft jars have been jacked up, or some combination of the two. Try this:
- Run the patcher but DON'T PATCH YET, just click the "Minecraft Folder" button (or just navigate to your /.minecraft/ folder if you already know how)
- delete the "bin" folder
- run minecraft.exe and let it redownload everything
- close minecraft.exe and any other windows you opened, including the patcher (just to be safe)
- Run the patcher. The custom water and custom lava options should be selectable. Click Patch. Close the patcher after it's successful.
- Run minecraft and ensure it shows the version number as the latest (1.1_02 I think). The textures should be correctly installed with working animated water/lava!
If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll see if I can figure something else out.
It seems to have worked for other people who were having that problem.
Okay, I'm not sure what is going on now, but after updating to the new pack this morning (haven't played in a week since beta dropped), I can't seem to log in to my Minecraft multiplayer server when using the texture pack. If I revert to the default textures, everything is fine. Any idea why this might be happening? I don't see any useful information from the multiplayer server's logs, and the error I get from Minecraft is just "Failed to login: Bad login". As I said, if I revert to the default textures, everything works fine.
The texture pack seems to work fine in singleplayer, though.
The biggest change for the next version will be actual biome-based color shading for the grass. Just tweaking the gradients now until it looks right. I'll probably still offer the non-shaded version too, though I'd prefer not to have TOO many different variations of the pack because they're kind of a pain to maintain, honestly :tongue.gif:
The next version will also add (optional) support for this mod, allowing biome color shading to appear on the sides of grass as well: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=107720
it's kind of ludicrous that notch hasn't fixed the issue himself in the past 2 months after it was introduced, since it looks so ugly and jarring in-game (so much that I prefer to have biome shading disabled) but who knows if he is even working on minecraft anymore!!
Yo, love the work you've done and everything that's been added. I just recently had a problem though when updating to the newer pack. After putting Gerudoku through the most recent texture pack patcher and sticking it in my texture packs folder, it seemed to have affected the defult texture pack as well and turn it into a duplicate of Gerudoku. Whats with that?
Also as much as I am a fan of this pack and everything that's been added to it, there's still one thing I've always preferred about the original Doku RPG pack. The fact that it was a little dull and dark in color. Basically before all the touch ups and brightening you made. Just felt a little more real. Is there a chance you could make a version of your pack keeping to it's original dark and dullness? If not, do you know anyone who's been updating the original Doku RPG pack with just keeping up with updates to minecraft?

I think that's an unavoidable side effect of using the patcher.
However, if you put together a pack of the default terrain.png and items.png (and possibly some other stuff, but those are the most important) resized to double resolution and put it in the texturepacks folder named "defaultHD" or something, you should still be able to load it with the texture picker. It would still display the gerudoku custom water/lava though, I think.
In other words, after you install gerudoku with the HD patcher, any other texture packs you use ALSO need to be 32x32 res. It sucks, but that's the only option we have until notch (or somebody) adds built-in support for multiple different resolutions in the ingame texture picker.
There's a beta-compatible version of the original doku pack here viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=70556 but it looks like you found it already ;3
Im using the mcpatcher for other texture packs but i log on the it says updating minecraft it says done loading but then it stops and doesn't go to the game and i dont know what to do. Can someone tell me what to do?

Try resetting your minecraft install by following these instructions:
ok i was using this pack today and i noticed that none of the items actually match the pictures you have on here and i would really rather have the ones posted on here how do i get them? also some of the pictures i would like from here are not in the pack and some of the alternative terrain textures, if you could tell me how to get them that would be wonderful thank you.

The items in the screenshots are the 16x16 versions. I made the 32x versions the defaults last patch because I like them better, but if you open up GERUDOKU.zip in winrar or 7zip and rename the "itemsa.png" file in the gui folder to just "items.png" (overwriting the other one) and then patch, it will use the old items instead. Sorry the instructions aren't easier, but it's the best thing I can do to make the pack customizable short of making a painterly-style customizer, which is never going to happen!!

how did you get such a good map? and can i get a link to the tree mod?
If you want the biometerrainmod that makes pinetrees (and other types) generate naturally on the map, you can get a version that works with beta here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=76184&start=1650#p1696725
With the map, I just lucked out after regenerating worlds a couple dozen times. Making cool worlds with mountains and waterfalls and stuff like that used to be a lot rarer, but I think with the current terrain generator it's a lot more common to get something rad looking. If you mean the actual stuff on the map, I've just been building in the same small area since around june or july so after several months anything can start to look really impressive :biggrin.gif:

i have a problem with the texture pack,it works fine a some time then everything goes away all the textures i cant see anything,im using zan's minimap mod too but it shouldn't affect it.I like the texture pack but i can't use it if it goes blank in a little while, then i have to close minecraft and go log back in.... -.-
No idea about this one, I haven't used zan's minimap. If by "everything goes away" you mean that the screen goes black and minecraft freezes, your graphics settings are probably too high. Make sure the draw distance is set to no further than "normal" and "limit framerate" is turned on. If that doesn't help, I wouldn't be surprised if the minimap is causing the crashes; I know mrmmod's simplemap was pretty cpu intensive when I used it and caused blackscreens pretty often if you moved too fast (like in a minecart) so I had to uninstall it.

Can anyone make a 64x64 Version of this awesome texture pack?
Since this pack is mostly pixel art, I can't imagine a way to do this that wouldn't look terrible. A while back somebody posted a single 64x tile of Doku's that they had carefully upscaled by hand that looked pretty nice, but doing that for every single texture would take forever. 32x is the optimal resolution for minecraft, IMO :biggrin.gif:

It works fine for my but the only problem is that the water isn't animated unless it's at an angle.
Edit: In other words, the water and lava aren't animating.
Can't think of why that would be happening unless you didn't use the latest version of Xau's patcher to install the pack.
All downloaded fine. Patched fine. Then BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH! With a little bit of reading, specifically here; viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=46173 found out what the problem was. I had been using an extended reach mod, and Altimor_ WoM Mod(link bellow, its awesome).
I had deleted my bin folder as seems to be the process, ran minecraft.exe to get it back, but still no go. First problem was just the black screen. That itself WAS fixed with deleting bin folder. However, the next problem was that I was trying to play on a world that I had used multiple client mods to shape. In short, the only way around that, was to delete the save file.
Good advice for those looking to pick up this Mod. Get it now, and patch it in, before applying any other mods. I did re-install the other mods afterward, and it all works now.
Excellent textures by the way. Wish the game had come out with these textures to begin with. :smile.gif:
umm no it doesn't go black and doesn't freeze i can't explain it well i can basicly see the torch fire only and rest is blue like a sky, weapons go blank but i can see the durbality bar.
That still sounds like a graphics rendering problem, but I'm almost certain that the HD patcher doesn't cause it. Sorry, don't know what else to suggest, other than to try playing without the minimap mod for a while to see if that helps.
Ospire, glad you figured it out. Almost any mod should be compatible with these textures, as long as you install the mod files AFTER installing the textures with xau's patcher.
