Ohmy god!! Why is the official texture pack outdated??
There is a simple explanation for this phenomenon. Tombones is working in real life in a job. He currently does NOT have the spare time required in order to update this pack fully for 1.4_01, 1.5, or 1.5_01. Because he is so busy, he has recommended that everyone who wants to use GERUDOKU to use an ALTERNATE VERSION of Gerudoku, maintained AND UPDATED by SOMEONE ELSE. Now that you know that, here is a COMPLETE LIST of all the alternative packs that I currently know of. You may PM (private message) me if you know of any others.

THIS IS BECAUSE YOU ARE USING MINECRAFT'S TEXTURE SELECTOR. IT IS NOT PERFECT. IN FACT, IT IS PRETTY DAMN BROKEN. IT WILL INCORRECTLY INSTALL ALL TEXTURES ABOVE 16 PIXELS - that means 256x, 128x, 64x, AND 32 PIXELS (THE GERUDOKU TEXTURE PACK). So how do I fix this??? :ohmy.gif:
Here's another simple explanation. USE AN HD TEXTURE PATCHER. BUT NOT JUST ANY PATCHER. Xau's HD Texture Fix (updated for 1.3), despite what you may believe, is NOT updated for any version ABOVE 1.5. It works with 1.4, but NOT with 1.5. Because of this, everyone recommends that you LOOK AT THE LINK RIGHT HERE. THIS POINTS YOU DIRECTLY TO KAHR'S HD TEXTURE PATCHER BETA. There are a few installation instructions for it.
• Download the patcher.
• Double click on the patcher.
• Make sure you are using a clean (vanilla) version of minecraft
• Click the "patch" button
• Put the texture packs you want in texturepacks in /minecraft
• Select your texture packs at will
• Install any mods you want from there
IF you are still having MEGA SUPER PROBLEMS and you are COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT, HERE IS A GUIDE ON HOW TO INSTALL HD TEXTURES.

I shall point you towards this guide before anything else. HAVING WATCHED THAT (which you should have) You might want NOTHING to do with replacing textures yourself. Are you looking for a Painterly-esque customizer?? Then LOOK NO FURTHER!!

Well. It looks like you're mega incompetent. Good for you. I recommend looking at the Original Post THOROUGHLY - as in... MEGA THOROUGHLY. WITH A MAGNIFYING GLASS. Or if you're posh, a MONACLE. Once you've read that, READ THIS ENTIRE THREAD POST FOR POST. THAT'S RIGHT. 100 pages of PEOPLE POSTING SILLY QUESTIONS AND HAVING THEM ANSWERED BY SENSIBLE PEOPLE. This will ALLOW YOU TO BECOME KNOWLEDGABLE.
Please useMCPatcher HD fixif you are having the following problems:
• Block placement crashes
• Still lava/water (unanimated)
• Weird portal/lava textures on blocks
• Strange "use the patcher noob" text on water
• Strange grass textures/colours
Also, if your redstone dust, powered rails, detector rails are different coloured "square patches", it means your pack is outdated!
Before you ask questions, check if they have already been answered by going through the previous pages. Repeated annoying questions will probably be ignored!

I took the liberty of updating this to 1.5 as my many other counterparts on this thread have as well. I personally like it and take pride in the fact that I didn't really do much to make it. I've tried to delete the pack, but even when there's not a trace of it ever being on my computer,the damn pack is still there.
I wouldn't have a problem with this, except the texture pack is all effed up. Every time I try to mine a block, the game freezes up and crashes.
I hope you see the urgency of my situation. This means I can't play Minecraft, even if I delete the pack, it still clings to the game like some rotten parasite. And if I delete the game and download it all over again, IT'S STILL THERE...

Let's try and stay calm, answer questions, and point people in the correct direction. At this point the angry posts telling people to read the OP and scan the last page for details are starting to annoy me even more than the stupid posts with their large fonts and bright colors.
If we handle things cleaner, and more politely it'll reduce further events. If every other or every third post is a helpful set of steps people might see them and follow them. When people come and see large angry posts starting off with some flame and swears they are more inclined to say "screw these guys and leave".

Curse PremiumTyken's Minecraft 1.5 Gerudoku Pack
first off back up your single player saves. Folder ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves
then delete the entire ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft folder.
start minecraft and let it download the stuff.
then close minecraft and run THIS
then put the texture pack zip in the folder ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/texturepacks
you can put multiple texture packs in there, and everything will work just fine.
