Until you don't release it i've made my own version of the Wild Grass Texture.
I hope you don't mind, I'm waiting for the official version. :biggrin.gif:
Nice, thanks for sharing. The only thing I'd change is making the color more closely match the regular grass texture, since both use the same biome shading gradient and follow the same general pattern. If you can wait til this evening, though, you can just grab the "official" build and compare.
The grass I'm using is based on johnsmith's wheat and looks a bit looser/messier as a result, but I like the visual effect it has when actually displayed in-game with the mod. As with the rest of GERUDOKU, it will probably be tweaked or completely replaced a few times before I'm happy with it
Also, I think yall are going to love the new pig skin, they're pretty dang cute :3
Has anyone else noticed their animated lava and water stopped working after the 10/16 "update" ? (I know it wasn't a real update, and that Notch was moving some code around).

You'll need to go through the installation again (using xau's patcher) to get everything working properly, since the "update" forced a redownload of pretty much the whole jar.
Just to be safe, you might want to delete the whole BIN folder and the file called "lastlogin" in the /.minecraft/ appdata folder and let the client redownload everything completely fresh, THEN install with the patcher. Make sure the META-INF folder is deleted, too, since that sometimes sneaks back in after these kinds of updates.
Updated finally!! Lots of changes this time, see below for more...
-=items=-
NEW 32x32 items (dusty, hozz, cerealkiller54 weapon edits)
replaced painterly armor with eld's (painterly still available as alternate)
alternate cart skin (ASUK)
-=terrain=-
added support for the wild grass mod
swapped doku-style bookshelves & spawner with alts (johnsmith)
alt ore blocks (dusty), alt lightstone (glimmar), edited alt recordplayer (shiny)
other misc. alt textures (ladder, steel, bricks, portal, door)
-=misc=-
fancy "moonlight" shaded vignette overlay (inspired by aza)
fixed jackolantern-style pumpkinblur stretching issue
redone default kz.png with neat decorations by johnsmith & runesmith
(classic art kz.png still available as kzc.png)
Hell yea!
Some of my items.png changes made it into the final version, i am so happy!
These books, that you haveput as alternates were ment to be used with Functional Books mod tho.

Oh, I was wondering who made those, I just found them in runesmith's pack. I'll add you to the credits.
Speaking of which, if anyone else notices their texture(s) in the pack and aren't credited for them, just mention it here and I'll add you. I wasn't as careful about keeping track of that stuff this time around
If anyone is using the Wild Grass Mod (and you should!!) I strongly recommend redownloading GERUDOKU and reinstalling.. the version I posted last night had some crummy test textures for the grass, and it looked terrible ingame.
The grass textures in the new version I just posted are based on johnsmith's, and look a lot nicer IMO. Here's what it SHOULD look like:
If I want wild grass do I have to just install your pack or the wild grass pack as well? If the latter, how do I get them to work together?
You'd need to install both, just make sure you DON'T copy the terrain.png that comes with the grass mod into minecraft.jar. The terrain file that comes with Wild Grass is just for the default textures; mine already has the correct textures in place, so you only need to install the class files.
For the majority of mods, you need to install gerudoku with the HD Texture Fix patcher FIRST, and then install the mod files per their instructions.
IF for example you wanted to install these textures, MrM's BetterGrass and BetterLight, AND the Wild Grass mod, the order would be this:
Patch in BL/BG with Mrm's patcher --> Install GERUDOKU with Xau's patcher --> copy the Wild Grass mod classfiles into the patched minecraft.jar
After a lot of trial and error on my friend's part (I am not used to this type of modding at all and therefor not comfortable in the least) we got the texture pack and BG/BL along with the Wild Grass working and it's a bit of a shot to my FPS but it is absolutely beautiful. I dunno what to do exactly to help my FPS and I really don't want to let go of any of the mods so I guess I will have to live with it! One question and I am sorry if this was asked/answered before but it's almost 4am and I am not fully awake tbh. Does Wild Grass not work in multi-player? I dunno specifics I just know it works in single and not in multi. Again sorry if it's been said but I am slowly passing out as I type... will check some other time. Thanks in advance!

Yeah BL/BG (mostly BetterLight) does hit your framerates pretty hard, especially if your CPU isn't top of the line. All I can suggest is to make sure "Limit Framerate" is set to ON in the options, as that actually seems to improve framerates and reduce choppiness for some reason.
Also, I believe the wild grass mod only works in singleplayer, that's correct.
Done. CnP in your items sheet.
Next: Armor visuals 32x32 rework.
Nicely done, thanks! I might tweak a couple pixels (can't stop myself) but it'll most certainly be included in the next release.
Good luck with the armor.. that's a hell of a lot of work right there. I'm still debating if the painterly armor or Eld's should be the default.. painterly is kind of silly, but it shows more of the character skin, and is better differentiated than Eld's. On the other hand, eld's looks like actual, functional armor, and is closer to the defaults. We shall see!!
Ok so I logged in today to check out the new Beta after becoming super excited that it is finally out (::DANCE!!::smile.gif: and I found something odd. It is still GeruDoku but in 16 so it looks like I may have to go back to default for awhile. I am not sure if this effects everyone as my friends just went right back to the default and it isn't saying he even has any other texture packs installed when he goes to look at the "Mods and Texture Packs" option.
I am thinking I will have to wait for an update to all the stuff as everything seems fresh out of the box but no biggy. Just kind of reporting it I guess. I cannot wait until we get our cake on the 26th tho!!!
