Thanks for incorporating my pictures. You should add Wild Grass support to your texture pack.
I second this i would love to see wild grass supported it would up the immersion that much more, awesome texture pack btw one of my favorites if not my favorite :smile.gif:
Many terrain file changes in this release. New chests are included. let me know what you think about them. OP lists more changes or you can just check out the terrain preview and try to find them all.

Wildgrass and lilypad support.
Very revolutionary. @[email protected]
I'll have to implement the different types of wool as creative building structures in my packs. That's absolutely genius!
Keep up the good work, this is probably my favorite pack for this size. (Other than my own, of course ;D)
Superb update.
I really like the direction you're going with the wools - esp the orange one. That's going to look great.
I only saw a difference between the new and old cobblestones when looking at screenshots. Now it's obvious. I think I prefer the old one - new one is too 'contrasty' (?) - the black lines are too thick imo, and I liked the old smoothness of it.
I can't tell a difference between the old and new bricks and smoothstones (I haven't bothered with screenshots), both look great still. No ice locally on any of my dozen or so worlds :sad.gif:.
New chests look good, but there's something off about them - almost as if they're a 64x texture maybe. New planks - slightly more red? They don't tile together as well when AA is off. Fences are a nice improvement, they look much better when used as posts.
If you're taking requests, I'm still of the opinion that the water colour needs work. (again, I'm colourblind, so feel free to ignore). Lapis blocks could be better too I think - again, they look like a 64x texture to me.
So, the new wools are fantastic, can't wait till you finish them off. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Scuttles!
I'm really liking the wool elements too! I'm punching the hell outa sheep! I want to build a nice posh house with all the new wools so that I can show em off, but I'm lost at sea trying to find my awesome new mountain. Seems that cliff was a little too high for me to jump off of.

Thanks for your comments Sofa!
I'm thinking that there's a good bit of tweaking to be done on those chests. They may not make it. But the old ones were just dull as hell. I was really comfortable with them and all, but they just weren't much to speak of. The new ones are actually 1024. It's not the resolution, just the work isn't that good. I'll keep at em.
Bricks got a good deepening. they were too light and unsaturated. They look far more solid now.
Wood is better detail, a bit of a color shift. May need a tweak too.
Cobble will probably have to come off this version a little bit. I want to give it more contrast, but I think this is a bit more than it needed. I have to test on both my mac and PC and it's different everywhere I look. The seems definitely need to be cleaned up.
Thanks, and let me know if any of the wools are keepers or rejects in your opinion. They're all in because they seemed like good elements I'd like, but I'm just getting started using them myself.

Yeah, I see the cobble change now; I agree - slightly too much.
Blue and grey wools seem really out of place atm. If we could get a blue or red (nice strong colours) in a style similar to the yellow/black, that would be great; iow too much of the patterned ones makes sofa sad. :wink.gif: I'm loving the looks of cyan and lime, and of course the 'regular' textures like yellow, black, pink etc.
A new lapis texture along the lines of gold/iron blocks would be nice - a strong yellow, grey and blue would work well I reckon.
oh my god. those picks...
i must get this!
128, right?
oh my freaking god it's AMAZING! the... oh my god, you're the best!
E: i'm just not digging the "better light".. it makes it darker. :tongue.gif:
Thanks Tommittaja!
I'm glad you like it! Tell your friends! Write a post if you have suggestions. I guess Betterlight isn't for everybody. It does affect the overall brightness of your world I guess. I like the definition that it gives to similar blocks myself.
oh yeah, i've got one suggestion which bothered me just a bit:
stone looks like gravel. stone is supposed to be the smooth, nice one :tongue.gif:
so: gravel should be stone, stone should look like cobblestone and cobble should look like... i don't know?
but still.. just my two cents :tongue.gif:
and if you want to "better" the grass, try making it so the grass hangs just a tiny bit more off from the edges :tongue.gif: more unevenly.
and one more thing: the guy itself is kinda creepy. :biggrin.gif: and the zombies look just like him.
so the guy :tongue.gif:
just minor things.
amazing work here anyway.
PS: the ores are absolutely stunning!
I've had that comment before about stone being too rough. I designed it to look like rough hewn stone. Trying for a finish that is believably natural since it's all the natural stone in the world. But I wanted it to be smooth enough to work for building too. I just roughed it up a bit in 3.6 with additional contrast. Maybe I'll look at making it a bit more smooth since people are really accustomed to it being the primary building material since default cobble is pretty unattractive.
Gravel I am actually very happy with. It took many iterations to get one that does not shimmer and vibrate when viewed close up. I actually feel that this gravel works pretty well in those large beds you find at the water's edge.
Cobble will get a revision in 3.7 to clean up the seams and perhaps smooth it a bit. But the general design is pretty unlikely to change. I love this cobble! I will make my round cobble available which I've never had in Sanguine before. No reason not to offer the option I guess.
I'll look at grass. Trying to downplay the side grass at the moment until Notch makes it biome compatible.
Creepy guy is better than my original char.png. That one was just too realistic. It was more disturbing than creepy guy. Once I finish mobs ( doing creeper currently ) I'll see if I can improve creepy guy :smile.gif:
The zombies are a concept. You see, they're you're old corpses! When you die, you get a shiny new body. Your old busted up ones are somehow re-animated and begin wandering around. But all the mobs are early first versions. They may all change and will hopefully all improve.
Oh, and thanks on the ores! I am re-working gold ore though. That's the one ore that I'm currently least satisfied with.
Thanks for your comments and the suggestions! I appreciate the feedback and it helps me to improve things.
just downloaded the new version was running on 2.6
i dont like the fog effect underwater
remove the faces from the sheep and pigs please they creep me out with those eyes
the mine compleation effect was better when it was the circle that compleated rather than cracks
Hey, i tried using this texture pack and it made my minecraft crash. Is my computer outdated for this texture pack? I have a Windows 7 from 2009. 64-bit.

I'll look into the "fog effect" you're seeing. Mobs will be expanded, but retain their creepy eyes unless I am inspired with another solution.

You can add this back yourself. Search for "Arc mining progress bar' for a DL. I am currently liking the cracks, but I still love the progress bar. It may return or both may be made available as options for DL.

Hey, i tried using this texture pack and it made my minecraft crash. Is my computer outdated for this texture pack? I have a Windows 7 from 2009. 64-bit.
I'm running Sanguine Minecraft on an old AMD 3700+, XP and a Nvidia 8800gts. I get 70 - 240 fps. This box is 5-6 years old. You should be fine. Check that you're running the 64 bit version of Java.
Sanguine development may slow down ( not like I've been timely getting mobs out or anything ) since I've taken a new position that's very demanding. I hope to get it completed soon so that I can play more dev less.
9/10 Would be 10/10 if it wasn't for the poor grass and dirt :sad.gif:
The rest of the pack is truly amazing!
Ah, grass. Still version 1 as is dirt. Grass is limited in detail to avoid shimmering until mipmapping is working properly. What don't you like about it?
That's actual dirt, from my yard. I was removing a mound that the previous owner created when they had a load of soil delivered and so as I sheared off one side of a 20 foot x 3 foot 20 year old mound. The dirt face looked nice, so I used it here.
If you have a problem with the dirt then let me know what it is. I'll re-examine it.
Zoe: "You sanguine about the kind of reception we're apt to receive on an Alliance ship, Cap'n?"
Mal: "Absolutely.", "What's 'sanguine' mean?"
Zoe: " 'Sanguine'. Hopeful. Plus -- point of interest -- it also means 'bloody'."
Mal: "Well, that pretty much covers all the options, don't it?"
Many changes in this release as I've been cleaning house in the terrain file. New chests have arrived! They still need some work, but I'd like opinions on them. Many dyed wools have become wonderful building materials. New ice block tiles far better. Stone and cobblestone have gotten a bit more body. Record player changes support the new note block better. Wild grass comes back into the terrain.png after changes to that mod. Lilly pads are supported now as well as very tall grass.
New textures in this release:
wood planks
sapling
ice
chest
music block
lilly pad
lotus flower
black carpet - black wool
bumpy plaster - pink wool
wainscoting -light green wool
stucco - yellow wool
persian carpet -purple wool
sisal mat - light purple wool
fluted column - teal wool
parquet flooring - orange wool
Significantly changed textures:
stone
brick
TNT box
cobblestone
record player

Sanguine used to include a custom mining progress indicator that replaces the default cracking texture. It is far easier to see in the dark underworld than the default cracks. The Arc mining progress bar is still available as a separate download.
