Yay for new versions.
I prefer the new cursor, a big improvement over that square thing.
I'm colourblind and can barely see this water - way too 'green', it just blends into the smooth stone background for me.
Maybe I installed the new pack wrong: I upgraded to 3.1 from 2.9 by copying the 4 custom pngs, the items and the dial pngs into the folders and moved the zip itself into the texturepacks folder. The jar had been HD'ed (Xau's patcher) after 1.2.6 came out.
I'm still undecided on the cursor, but it's better than the square for sure!
The water color is not what I want, but It's a tough one to get right. I'm going to keep working on it.
That sounds like the right way to install. DId you have any trouble afterwards?
hey man ur texture pack not fully support wild grass cause theres no that rly high grass in the terrian.. i suggest u 2 make many mods support like misa, its awesome! oh and add some alternates, we need them!

Yes, I made the wild grass lower than crops. I'll offer you a crops-based one. I'll upload it tomorrow. I went with lower grass levels because I felt it looked better. Same reasoning behind all the edits on Sanguine.
edit: i see that WGG has been updated to use more textures. I'll include those in the next update.
If you want alternate blocks, all the previous versions of Sanguine are available. Look at the bottom of the post for a listing. Many previous textures are available that you can use to build a customized version. I don't plan on offering alternates until I fully complete this pack. That's not far off now, but in order to reach that goal I have to focus on that goal. When the pack has been completed I'll package all every texture that has been used and then replaced as well as all those textures that were developed but never released.
I just wanted to say something about the diamond block. You know on the original mc tex. pack that when you see a diamond block you get a boner and it makes you feel good? I really don't see that it does it on your pack, diamond blocks don't look as cool and as exciting as in the real mc tex. pack ... thats the word, excitement of finding a diamond block.
What do you think?
Suggestions?
I wouldn't have made the current texture if I didn't think it was good. I love finding that single huge 100 carat diamond behind a rock!
Could you explain why you made cloth look like paving stones?
And. . . . .
I don't know anyone that plays minecraft that uses cloth for anything but floors. I like the soft quiet sound as flooring, but all that white is too much. I chose a nice, rich flooring material that ties in with the other building materials nicely and gives my rooms a finished and beautiful floor.
Of course everyone may not like that, and someone may have a white house out there that this would ruin. But I make Sanguine for myself first and foremost. This isn't selfish or ignoring that others use it too, it's the only way to produce art that doesn't suck that I know of. Committees suck at art. And I know that I have a good solid wool in previous versions that anyone who doesn't like a the slate flooring can pull and copypasta in.
Same story for the half-step block's sides being columns. Now I have fluted columns! They still look good as steps, though I usually use stairs rather than half steps, but I have a new block that can make temples and entrances look amazing. And the old one is down at the bottom of the OP in the previous releases.

Now you do. :tongue.gif:
In one world, I have a single floor dwelling in the middle of a plain, built with wool and glass. Makes me feel comfortable in my lunatic asylum, it does :biggrin.gif:. Most of my other worlds I collect wool but I've not really used it except as flooring, as you say.
re half-steps - yeah, they look great as columns. While i was grumbling as I ripped out the 'ugly' half-steps being used as steps, and replacing with stone stairs, I remembered that this is one of the the kinds of things that keeps me interested - differences in textures have very varied results.
If there was one single complaint, rather than the myriad of little things I mentioned in my last post, it would be to please make it lighter again. It's really too dark in my opinion.
So, please keep active with the pack, as I for one certainly appreciate it. :smile.gif:
Sanguine SUBSUMPTION is up. It's in a separate post since it's not a normal update. No new textures, and some have been reverted to earlier versions. This release is available in 16,32,64 and 128 pixel resolutions.
Made primarily for submission to the Webhallen contest, this will likely be a one-off release. I will likely include the smaller packs in the primary distribution in future releases here.
Let me know if the smaller packs are of interest to you. They require a lot more work to be brought up to standards and I don't want to needlessly spend time on them if they aren't used.
Your texture pack looks AMAZING (for the 30 seconds before I crashed), too bad I can't use it, an average of 1FPS is a bit low. I so need a new laptop...
I've been getting ALOT , ALOT , and ALOT of black screens on minecraft. If I go fullscreen it just crashes, if i don't it gives me a black screen and I can't do nothing. After I get the black screen it comes up with not responding and then I close it. I got Windows 7 64-bit ). I have been running the original mc pack and i am getting like 450 fps and it is still crashing, and with your pack around 100 and it is still crashing. Have you experienced any black screens? They get really annoying and it happens ranging from 1-5 minutes. Sometimes I can manage half an hour or an hour without one, but the I just get one.
I was living this nightmare for a while. In my case it was a mod causing the crashes while playing. Have you gone for a full re-download and run it plain vanilla for a while to see if you're cured or not?
I feel you man. I lost 4-5 houses in various states of building due to minecraft just going POOF while I was playing.
I'm working on finishing up all the mobs and creating custom armors. I'm getting busy with actual job work too ( which is very good ) so I've been making slower progress lately. I should put out a mobs complete version this coming weekend. Armor may be completed by then as well.
Any particulars you're finding missing or needing improvements?

Not at all, I wanted to make sure the water colour problem wasn't because I upgraded incorrectly.

Waters texture will continue to evolve and may change in the future, but I'm currently working to complete the mobs.
I've had this same request once before though, so I'll definitely take a look at alternates.
thx!

Did you check out Sanguine Subsumption? It's Sanguine in all four resolutions. If you like 16x16 you can try this pack out in that resolution.
here's the terrain preview at 16. use the download. This is a jpeg.
