とても面白い! I've been wanting something like this for a LONG time! Suggestion for one of the paintings: write "minecraft" in katakana. マインクラフト
Also, someone was talking about making an Okami pack a few weeks ago. Maybe you should try and contact them, this could be a collab project. And the default texture size is way too small to do good details, go with at least 32x32. We've got an HD fixer now, so it shouldn't be a problem. Maybe even custom animated water/lava.

I've actually started a Japanese mod, although it has just started. I've been working on it for about a week.
Nothing great yet, but I'l be working on it pretty intensely soon. I actually have a small team to make it, although we are early enough into it that if you wanted to take the Japanese theme and run with it, we'd be cool with trying to find something else to do.
After seeing the screen shots of SineDeviance's 16x16 take on Doku's RPG pack [here], it is very likely that I'll be using 32x32 textures.
About collaboration, I'm kind of doing this as both practice and a serious project so don't drop yours because of me. I will see this to the end because I want the practice and to test myself. Bu~t, this will probably take a while as I am a perfectionist. If anyone does some awesome work on a Japanese/Oriental pack and needs some contribution I will offer what I can.
So far, I have a bow done:
Going to see how the items look without borders. I like how it turned out considering it's my second sprite ever (first was Vivi Ornitier).Trying to put the lighting from a top-left to bottom-right perspective, think it still needs a little work. Next my agenda is the Arrow, Paper Lantern, and GUI.
Crits and comments please.
Edit: Arrow
Keeping the wood color from the bow as a base, so that when I decide on the color that I am using for planks I can just swap it out of all my wooden items. Still need to do the arrow map texture.
I also made the bow slightly darker by adjusting the levels, so that it looks better when equipped.
Rawr!: Arrow Map
Made the poison looking arrows have a purple tip and darker feathers. Hope we get to use them.
Well that's it for today, and probably this weekend (going drinking to celebrate me birthday). When I update next I will just edit the original post, since I will actually have some usable resources then... well more usable ones since the arrow map is already usable.
That bow looks nice, and definitely looks good with no border. I think all blocks and items in Minecraft assume the light is coming from the top left, so keep the light constant throughout all of your work. I'm not a huge fan of 32x32, but at least it will allow you to be more detailed, and is better for a beginner.
Update:
Tweaked the bow and arrow sprites and the arrow texture slightly. I also added outlined ones for comparison.
Did some work on the hot bar.
Originally I wanted to have a larger and lighter bamboo box as the selector, but apparently the bottom pixel is cut off from the selector's space. So I tried to use calligraphy strokes as the selector, but I could use some suggestions. I'm considering replacing the bamboo with something else that matches the calligraphy, but I don't know what. Is it possible to use a higher resolution GUI?
Here are the game-sized images if anyone wants to test them out:
Also, I need a new image hosting site and a file hosting site. Tiny pic is free but slow for uploading and I don't know what people prefer for file hosting sites.
You are my hero. I have this topic bookmarked cause this actually sounds like it'll work very well once completed and might actually replace the steampunk texture I'm using atm. I don't know if I'll be able to choose between the two XD Cant wait to see it in action :smile.gif:
This sounds very interesting, can't wait to see the finished product. I'm book marking this. By the sounds of it, I'll definately use use this texture pack as a whole. I'm fusy and usually use different textures packs to make my own custom pack. The only other ones to come close to this are Doku's RPG texture Pack and Misa's Realistic Texture Pack. Check them out, maybe you'll get some ideas, or they may help you. The detailing in Misa's is unbelievable.

Troll. If someone wants to make a pack of a particular theme, and a bunch of people want it, don't call them noobs for liking it.

I do pixel art sometimes.

Till next time.
Too bad it's in 32x32, I dislike that. I'll still try it though. :biggrin.gif:
Sleekcraft! Check it out!
I'm not at home right now so I can't type with my Japanese keyboard, but...
This looks great so far, although I'm not a fan of 32x32 packs.

Patiently waiting for a release, be sure to provide updates.

Good Job though :biggrin.gif:
