i love this pack
especially the armor,spiders and skeletons
the only thing i don't like is pork because it looks like a pig stomach
nice job keep it up
My favorite texture pack! Only a little criticism. Would it ever be possible to add a texture for chainmail? The admin on my server only wears it and I was forced to take use the iron armor from the LB Photorealism pack as Chainmail in yours because the grey dots looked so stupid. Also, I'd recommend use the alternative netherrack texture, the intestines don't really fit anywhere in the world, not even in the nether. I like how the alternative is like a red rock. And the obsidian, your default just looks funky, with it being incredibly purple with the random flowy lines, the alternative one is much better.
And please, don't change the wooded door too much, I like how it looks all ornate looking, but the artwork you just posted makes it really blocky looking, and it also makes the random mail-slot bigger.
Just a little things, I mean I'm fine with using GIMP to change to the alternatives but I'm not sure everyone is. I'm assuming that the original door texture will be added to the alternative file right?
But yeah, my biggest greif was that there wasn't anything for chainmail, and I'd rather use something you make instead of taking armor from somebody else
...the only thing i don't like is pork because it looks like a pig stomach...
I'm afraid I don't see the resemblance between a rib roast (from which pork chops are cut) and a pig's stomach...

I already addressed this several times, but quite a long time ago, so I'll do it again. Chainmail is not at this point able to be legitimately obtained in-game. Therefore I see no reason to provide support art for it so a few cheaters and/or modders have texture support for their exploits. Another reason I don't have chainmail is because my iron armor contains chainmail components already, in order to make chain, I'd need to remake Iron armor to have enough of a visual distinction between the two. Should Chain be obtainable through legitimate means in-game, I'll comply and provide support for chain and redo Iron Armor. At this point though it's wasted effort for something I don't even use. Making armor skins is much more of a complicated process than making a simple block texture.
The old Obsidian texture I have in ALTERNATES.png I feel is a horrible splotchy mess, and the old, near-solid black alt for is dull, too dark, and not at all fitting with the rest of the look of my pack. It was lazily thrown together at the last minute as an fix for the people complaining about the old splotchy, purple mess that was Obsidian. As it is, I prefer the current default Obsidian. It's got a good once-molten-glassy look to it, and works beautifully as a twisted-looking material from which portals to the Nether are constructed. I don't see the default of this changing anytime soon.
As far as Netherrack goes, I'm kinda weary of the whole thing. It seems for as much positive feedback I've gotten about the current Netherrack, I've gotten roughly the same amount of reactionary feedback. Initially the switch to the intestinal-look was to better fit with the GLSL shader maps. On those, they were actually slimy and squirmed. I now no longer support the GLSL shader mod, but I've since grown attached to the Intestinal look, switching back to the old default cobble-look always made the Nether seem darker than it should be in contrast to all the lava, it's also kinda flat and dull. So I disagree strongly that it doesn't fit the Nether itself. It's a hellish realm, it's supposed to be disgusting. I do agree though that outside of the Nether, the intestines don't have much of a place. So what I've done is I've tweaked the color values of the cobble-like Netherrack to more closely match the brightness, color and contrast of the intestinal ones and have opened up a poll on this thread.
My personal opinion is that the intestinal type is marginally better, and actually closer to the vanilla look of Netherrack than the cobblestone type. (Go look at it for yourself. It really does fit it's original development name of 'Bloodstone.')
@bismillah1, there's no need to spam. Go to my support chat. I cannot help you if I'm unable to ask you questions, and I don't feel like dealing with a back and forth exchange in the forums.
Misa - I love your work! However, I think the explanation for installation of your texture pack for Randomobs needs a line for clarity. Currently, the installation of Randomobs is as follows:
"1. Locate your minecraft bin. There are tons of tutorials about this around.
2. Delete the META-INF folder in your minecraft.jar, if it exists.
3. Put the class files you just downloaded into you minecraft.jar, erasing those which were already here.
4. Put the textures into the corresponding mob's folder in your minecraft.jar.
5. Run Minecraft, and enjoy."
If you follow Randomob's installation, he does not use the MCPatcher application for install. Using his method, it does not generate a "Mods" folder. Only by using the MCPatcher application to install Randomobs mod does it add a "Mods" folder under which the "Randomobs" folder shows up. Only when this folder shows up is the properties file able to be overwritten by yours.
Could you possibly add a line about installing Randomobs using the MCPatcher for your texture pack support?

Pork chops are great. Not sure how a whole slab of meat turns into only one or two chops, but whatever. I like your obsidian, but it does look a little more sandy than glassy. In your poll I voted for the rocks, but I doubt I would use either. The guts are just comical and don't seem to fit with all your other kick ass textures. The rocks are not any better and I must agree with you that they look flat and dull. I have replaced one and only one texture out of your entire pack which was the netherrack. I borrowed the netherrack texture from ADRIORN'S REALÍSTICO who in my personal opinion nailed it. Maybe it can inspire you to come up with a solution that pleases you and your faithful fans. :smile.gif:
Even if you didn't change a thing, you would still have the best 64X texture pack currently available. Don't let any of this criticism bug you. You are the artist. Make your pack for yourself. No need to waste your time defending your art. Let the fans do that for you. You just keep cranking out the art. :smile.gif:
Why do I have to delete the bin folder? I have all my mods installed!
Also, it might sound like a stupid question, but when I do delete my bin folder and let minecraft run, would that delete my stats, saves, and other texturepacks?

Cleaning Minecraft of your mods is part of the point. If you're worried about certain settings of mods, you can try just deleting the version file in the bin folder or doing a force update in-game. The point is, you typically need a clean version of Minecraft before running MCPatcher. Then you can install your mods. You can try without if you want. My instructions are there to be fool-proof. The bin folder doesn't affect saves or other texture packs. Those are affected by the aptly-named saves, and texturepacks folders...
I am finally convinced by my chat with Misa in TinyChat (about the new cobblestone thing) and that really long list in the Minecraft Wiki to screw the 1.7.3 version and just wait for the 1.8 / Adventure Update. If there's gonna be melons, cocoa bean trees, baby animals, dungeons/strongholds, spike blocks, chicken/cow meat, a hunger meter and towering mountains in the update, well I say it's gonna be pretty exciting to see how Misa would turn them to realistic 64 x 64. :3
Cobblestone form of Netherrack it is. And now for another new poll!
Lapis Lazuli blocks. Not a commonly-used block, but I made an alt texture for this block awhile back that I've grown to like much more than the current default. It doesn't match vanilla as well, but I feel it's much more useful as a building material as I feel the need for a solid blue block can be just as easily fulfilled by a blue colored wool block. So in an attempt to make Lapis Lazuli more useful as a building material without just forcing the change on everyone I'm putting it up to a new vote.
Personally I had no use for the current form of the Lapis Lazuli block, but the new block art I could easily see myself using for bathroom tiling or swimming pools.
If you wish to inspect the newer tile art further, you can check the ALTERNATES.png in my texture pack.
Misa i think you should support this new "Ather mod" I installed it quick and was blown away by its size and detail, it was incredible and think its going to get big, fast.
i think the old lapis block is pretty, besides the tiled look seems rather limited in use to me. It looks very bathroomy, and I'm thinking that not many people really make bathrooms in minecraft, I suppose you could use it in a kitchen as well, but there really aren't many blocks to compliment it. just my opinion!

It will be next patch if that's what the votes favor by the time I decide to close the poll.
