I love the mod but hate the skins for the character =( would i be able to get rid of the skins for the character & some mobs but keep the rest of the texture?
For anyone interested, I updated the terrain_nh and terrain_s maps for this pack (kinda hacky, but looks good). The texture for the sides of grass blocks has been put into terrain_s, fixing a weird issue with shiny side-grass, along with the new booster rail sets. I've also flattened the terrain_nh panels for flowers and saplings, since they tended to morph and slide around when viewed ingame.
Fair warning, it comes with a few personal changes I made. Wood surfaces, grass, dirt, and smooth stone are more matte than shiny, and ores other than diamond have a more dull lustre. I also edited the specular color of the metal on chests and whatnot to have a yellowish, sort of tarnished tinge.
Use these with Dax's latest release of the GLSL shader mod, and follow the instructions for installing that, replacing the default shaders with the ones in "bump mapping" in the alternative shaders folder. You'll have to manually put the terrain_nh and terrain_s files into minecraft.jar, since Dax's patcher doesn't seem to do that properly.
I'm posting this as-is, meaning I won't make requested edits unless it's actually an error. I'll probably edit this as needed when things get updated and it breaks, but probably for only as long as I use Misa's wonderful texture pack.
Hey, I've been working on a texture pack, and it has some of your stuff in it. The first post says you're cool with it if people use your stuff in their packs/compilations if they follow your guidelines, which I'm certainly willing to do, so I'm just going to go on ahead and post it in the next few days. This is what I'm going to put in my post where I'm crediting you (the asterisks mean I've edited those things):
Misa's Realistic: from terrain.png: bed*, bookshelf*, breaking animation, cactus, cake, log bottom, mob spawner, note block, record player, reeds, saplings, spiderweb, wheat. From particles.png: bobber, note, sweat drops. Things form the following folders: mob, title.
I thought I should run this by you. If for whatever reason you'd rather I not, just let me know and I'll take it down.
My texture pack doesn't show the newest things (power/detectorrails etc.)
I tried to download it again, but it doesn't work, and I have McPatcher (although I don't really understand what it does or is)
Any ideas on how to make it update?
Could you change the top of the chest to stand out more when it is placed in the floor? Right now it is hard to spot because I place most of my chests into the floor.
Also, it would be huge if you could update the textures for Millenaire AND Industrial Craft for all the fans of those 2 mods.
The tops of chests seem to stand out fine from normal planks to me. :/ Need a bit more to go off of than "make it stand out more"
Regarding the mods: As I don't frequently browse the forums, I do appreciate people bringing mods to my attention, but I have certain requirements for mods I'll even consider supporting. I figured I'd just post my stance in full on this kinda thing by giving you criteria I use when selecting mods to support. I'll add a link to this post in my main thread's FAQ as well so future questsions of this nature need not a direct response. ...So here goes!
1. The mod must not require other mods to run. This includes Modloader. Modloader has been a huge source of headaches when it comes to compatibility with mods I support. If the mod cannot be installed via standard drag and drop method, I'm not interested. I'd rather manually merge class files than deal with Modloader. Also I don't want my mod installation to be a cluttered mess of other things I need to do just to get other things working.
2. The mod must not add new entities to the game. This is to avoid issues with corrupting saved worlds. I've been playing the same main world since indev. I've no desire to add items to the game that will corrupt this save when it's no longer supported. (Yes, I know Notch added an improvement in the last patch to safely un-corrupt corrupted maps. But it still has issues with some entities added.) Mods like Wild Grass get around this by reusing existing entities in a variety of conditions.
3. The mod must be mostly aesthetic (Graphical with little or no change to default gameplay). Basically I'm somewhat of a purist when it comes to gameplay, but think the look of things could definitely be improved! Good examples of aesthetic mods that require art support are WildGrass and Randomobs. They don't change gameplay as much as they just make the world prettier.
While I really like the concepts of the last two suggestions made in this thread, their implementation leaves much to be desired in terms of stability with future updates. So yeah, hopefully you all now have a better idea of mods I'm looking to support.

Can you make an official alternative sun/moon size?
I shrunk them to 1/4 size, but... idk... seems a little blocky to me (after the resize)

Hey misa, do you think you can make the shovels the other way so that they are facing down when you're looking at a player? And facing kind of like forward when you dig?
I've already addressed this before. It's not going to happen. My reasons for not doing this are as such:
-First, it does not look any more realistic, no one in reality digs towards their feet unless they're squatting down and finalizing a trench, It's horribly counter-productive from a physics standpoint.
-Second, When you flip the shovels your player character in the third person looks like s/he was dropped on the head repeatedly as a child. They hold it like it's a bazooka with the shovel head below the fist.. Who on Earth does this?
-Third, If you really want backwards shovels that make no sense, you can easily do it on your own in a graphics editor that supports transparency. Paint.NET is a free program that anyone can use to do this. Just flip the shovels horizontally and you're done.

Cons, dislike the redstone item skin (block is awesome tho ) and the rain REALLY eats my fps
I may redo that if I have time with all the other stuff I'm working on. The current pile is sorta unrealistically, mathematically precise in its angles... As far as rain goes, you can resize the rain's resolution to 1/4 or delete it entirely.

Any ideas on how to make it update?
Read the installation instructions. (Or better yet the whole first post.) and if that fails head to my tinychat. I'm kinda tired of repeatedly mentioning that that's the place where I give tech support. I will not answer tech support questions in the thread anymore. If people cannot read the first post (as it asks them to do in big, bold, red letters), It's their problem. Others may help you in the thread, but yeah, if you want an immediate response from me, go to my tinychat. You don't even have to sign-up for it.
Love your work. Absolutely awesome. It's late-thirty & I've just got done playing with a skin in adobe photoshop today... my 1st time!!! I'm beat, but enthusiastic & your pretty work has a great deal to do with motivating me to want to have a crack at it. Hope you don't mind, I played around with your male char.png & changed it to my guy's face - glasses & all. Would you like to see it? Made me retardedly happy. :happy.gif: Thanks for sharing your work with us.

Hope you dont mind misa I used some of your textures to add to Albion's since he hasnt been updating and its a damn shame, but I'm still faithful to it so I created my own terrain with his alternates and some of your textures. I've also added your mob skins, power.png, achievements folder, font folder, and title folder to it. I uploaded the whole thing for some people who still like albion but are outdated cause they dont know how to edit much (I suck at creating too) so yeah. If you have a problem let me know and I'll delete the link, I'll keep an eye on this thread for a response.
I saw, the randomobs mod was upadated to work with the current minecraft version.
When did you say, would you release your randomobs update?
I had planned to about a week or two after 1.5 came out, assuming Randomobs would've been updated within a day or two. Unfortunately the long delay has kinda thrown me out of the swing of mob skinning, and a bunch of real life stuff has cropped up. I'm thinking of aiming for something next week or so.. I still have to do sheep, cows, pigs, and pig zombies.. Though I may put off the pig zombies for the sake of getting out a timely release. I'd also like to do a lot more spiders, because they're honestly the most enjoyable to do. I'm really not looking forward to the farm mammals... So boring. Anyway, I guess I'll try to get 'em out by the end of next week or so. Providing some other hurdle doesn't pop up to prevent that like a major update. :/
In regards to the people asking about using my work for whatever, please read my FAQ on using my work. Basically I'm fine with people using my stuff so long as I'm properly credited. The FAQ has more information on that.

I'm very new here & don't know where to find the FAQ you were referring to. If you could point me in the right direction, I'd be happy to read it. Hope whatever drama has presented itself in your life clears up soon. Thanks again
Edit: I found it. *Blushes* Thanks. I posted the little skin I did on my deviantart account, crediting you & leaving a link to your thread. :happy.gif:

Download the latest version of MCPatcher. (How do people keep ****ing this step up?)
Excuse me, that's quite a worthless and wasteful ( or irrelevant, more accurately) usage of the F-word.
Probably because she's too polite to say something like "How ****ing dumb do you ****ers have to be to **** this up?"
I can't think of a more accurate way than hers to describe the inability to comprehend her simple instructions. It's neither worthless, nor wasteful, and it is entirely relevant to the issue of people who cannot follow directions.

P.S. You copied the Minecraft Enhanced Mobs! But, still, nice work on the rest.
It's just a word. Who cares?
It gave appropriate emphasis to draw attention to that step that people seem to be ****ing up a lot. It's the most commonly encountered problem on my live tech support chat. Would you know it? Adding that to my instructions greatly decreased the amount of people coming into my chat with issues caused by having an old version of MCPatcher. Even you seem to be documented proof that it grabs attention. So let's see:
-Worthless?
-No. All signs pointed to it providing value by freeing up my workload in my support chat.
-Wasteful?
-No. It didn't even use up a new line of text so it was at least efficient on space while serving a purpose.
-Irrelevant?
-No. It pertained directly to a problem which seemed to have been solved upon its implementation.
Regarding your postscript: Is this a joke? If you're going to come in here to police me, you should at least get your facts straight. Minecraft Enhanced is using my mobs. Heck, the author of it credits me in his first post and even makes several other posts in his thread regarding his usage of my mobs. All of my work here is original work. If you see something on my pack you recognize from another, they copied it from me.
Okay, now that that's out of the way I have a general announcement regarding the update for Randomobs. It doesn't seem to want to install properly for me at all. Also the latest version has changed the way the mod functions so that even if it was working, testing my new mob skins is extremely difficult. So all work on it has been postponed until this issue can be resolved. slowed up a bit, but still going.
This pack looks really good overall. The monsters are wonderfully horrifying. I have two problems with this pack though. First is flowing water. I don't think mine is working right. It is hard to describe but it moves very fast and looks like the water is full of lines that move like static. And second the mossy cobblestone could look better in my opinion. It just looks like cobblestone that has been colored green. It doesn't look very mossy and on my castle that has moss growing up the side it just looks weird. If these two problems were fixed it would be the best texture pack I have seen.

Curse Premiumyup...just replace them with ones you like

A little hard to tell in these images, but, the moon especially, seems to have a distorted feel from the shrink.
