Hey Misa, the new HD texture fix now supports custom fire. Filenames are custom_fire_n_s.png and custom_fire_e_w.png. Could you update the pack to support this?
First off, i would like to say that this texture pack is amazing. you did great work.
second, i have 1 problem with it. i cant seem to put minecarts on my power rails without my game crashing. unfortunately this is a big problem for me because i have built a power rail system to get me to certain areas in my world safely at night. plz help?
For those who are and will be asking about the shader maps, check the FAQ. I'm contemplating dropping support for awhile until it actually gets UPDATED, and I don't just mean updated to work with the latest version of the game. I want to see progress. The lighting issues leave MUCH to be desired to consider it a worthwhile project for me to pursue at this point. So if you want to see them updated, see what you can do about getting the mod itself updated to actually make proper use of them.
Also I've already got plans to support the custom animated fire next major patch. I've decided against doing mini-patches in between major patches since it makes it version control harder. And since I run a tech support chat all day, this can get to be a headache if everyone is using a different version of my pack because no one bothers to regularly update. The version released for 1.4 alone got nearly 200,000 downloads, so you can see how constant updates that cannot be forced would make tech support a bit of a nightmare... On the plus side, this means that every update is fairly beefy now. So yeah, just be patient and enjoy the major updates.
And as always, for those needing actual tech support, head over to my Tinychat. I'm there pretty much every day, most of the day (Pacific time or so.). I rarely view or respond to issues on these forums as it gets to be too much effort keeping up after awhile. :/ Fortunately others have taken up the task and have been helping me out with responses to technical issues. Thanks! For those looking for an immediate response though, the Tinychat is the best option.
Well, that's about it for announcements. I'm off to bed.
Hey there I have a something wrong with something and I can't find what it is. What I do is I download the zip file, clean the bin, and then put the texture pack in my texture pack files. Then I go the newest version of mcpather and patch. All that it does nothing for me. What am I doing wrong?
[*:19f8y1z1]ModLoader
[*:19f8y1z1]WildGrass Mod
[*:19f8y1z1]Scaffold
[*:19f8y1z1]GLSL Shaders
Installed in that order. Used MCPatcher after installing GLSL.
I checked your terrain.png and the textures for the tall grass are there, but they're not being used...
Any ideas? :<
Uh. Haven't seen any other comments about this, but I did exactly what your instructions told me to do. So when I start up MineCraft, it goes to the "MOJANG" screen and then just closes. I don't know if Misa will look at this, but I really need some help.
Thanks.

Both of you will find the help you need by reading and following the installation instructions in the first post.
Yes, the thread is "full of replies", some of which hold the answer as well. We've said it so many times, I'm not going to subsidize laziness any more.

Lol. Did I not say in my post that I followed the instructions exactly and it still doesn't work? Try actually reading the post before you get all mad.

Yes, you said you followed the instructions... but the fact that it still does not work means you obviously didn't. Funny that you should presume to tell me to "try actually reading the post" - because THAT is your solution to your problem.
Since you're unwilling to accept that you could possibly have done anything incorrectly, I'll simply say that if you truly are right, no one can help you - because any advice we could give you would thereby have to be wrong.
So I won't imply that you did anything incorrectly - I'll simply say that it works fine for those who understand and properly follow the instructions. I'm sure all of those who think it's working properly are not simply delusional.
But, then again, if you read and understood the first post, you wouldn't be posting a help request in this thread, either way.

Lol, so I'm delusional. Even though I followed the instructions exactly the first time, and repeated about 5 other times. And you still say I'm delusional, thanks but no. If it's not compatible with my computer or something, that's all I need to know. kthxbye

I didn't say you were delusional - I said that you must think we are all delusional or something.
Look, if it's installed properly, the pack works fine - I don't know how much clearer I can make it. Works fine for me and many others in this thread.
It's not a matter of "compatibility with your computer". Let me break it down YET again... a texture pack can only change the way the game looks, not how it works.
I can think of quite a few ways that you might have improperly installed this, but until you're willing to admit that USER ERROR is the root cause, nothing I say can help you. All the troubleshooting questions I can ask would be a waste of time if you insist that you've followed all the instructions in the first post.
Want to know how I know you didn't? You're posting your issue here.
Now, do you really want help with this, or is it more important to be right? Tell us, step by step, exactly what you did. Be specific.

Of course you understand that a texture pack only changes the way the game looks, not how it works.
That said, it's clear that the issue is unrelated to the texture pack and more likely related to an improper update of the game, a mod conflict, or something similar.
I'd suggest backing up your saves, starting from a clean install of Minecraft, running the 2.0 version of the HD texture pack, and then trying again.
In fact, it almost sounds like you didn't update Minecraft to 1.5_01. Are you still in 1.5?

Okay, as what's his name (too lazy too check) requested, I will provide a step-by-step walkthrough of how I installed it. First, as it sais, I went to ".minecraft" and deleted the "bin" folder and opened up MineCraft to let it patch. After it finished, I saved the texture pack to the "texture packs" folder and went to download the new MCPatcher, but I went to the website and realized I had the newest version. Then I ran MCPatcher and hit patch, like I always do for HD texture packs,it finished, closed it and opened MineCraft. But, oh, here's where the problem is, it goes to the "MOJANG" screen and closes MineCraft without warning.
(Sorry for the late reply, didn't check it until now.)
Thanks.

LOL I always thought that too... Though I don't use the default skin myself, so it doesn't really matter.
