The only thing that we didn't like was that the lava looks too pink. I think it should look more traditional, in a gaming sense. Lava should be a contrast between dark red and yellow/orange, with black areas of cooled stone within it. The best example I could provide would be: http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/9508/33181726.jpg
PS: Doesn't sushi made with fish use raw fish? I don't think the cooked fish icon should be sushi. But I agree the cooked fish icon could use some work. Perhaps a fish fillet? http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/7827/grillsalmon.jpg
I'm not really seeing the pink. It's pretty red-orange to me. Then again the pack is designed on some high-end CRT's which have higher color fidelity than most monitors produced these days. Playing with higher than normal gamma might make it look pink as well.
Anyway, I'm going more for a realistic look than a gaming lava look. Too much saturation in color clashes with the rest of the pack in my opinion. Molten rock (when cool enough to approach without having your face melted off) doesn't have the bright colors of fire, it's more of a dull red orange with tinges of greyness to black where it's the coolest, and bright orange where there is the most movement and breaks in the surface. To avoid tiling issues I made the lava just hot enough to avoid jarring black spots. I would add large cooled areas if the resolution mapping of liquid was separate from the rest of the blocks, but as it is, it just looks too tacky when tiled to me. So a more uniform temperature it is.
And yeah, fish used as a topping for sushi is usually raw, though not always. Also I'll play around with the cooked fish icon, and see if I can improve it a bit. Though I think it's a bit more realistic for the setting that you put a fish in grill and it comes out as a whole grilled fish. Also it's a bit more uniform with the way the cut of raw pork looks to the cooked version.

Are you vegetarian or was it just a coincidence?
Coincodence. Though I still probably eat way less meat than most people. I eat practically no red meat, and absolutely no pork. I love my chicken, fish and various other sea critters though.
Just as a notice to all, I've added a tinychat icon to my sig, which should be a better way to contact me about support 'n' such. I'll pretty much be in there anytime I'm awake and my computer is on. Occasionally I'll be streaming stuff from there as well, and others are welcome to stream there if they like.
Basically I don't hang around the forums much on a regular basis, and relied more on email notifications for responding to posts here. But email notifications no longer work for me even after many attempts to fix it. So I figure a live chat that requires no signup is probably a better way to provide support as well as providing a forum for interactive feedback. Also during big updates, I'll probably post live micro-streams of my in-game tests there or something as well as just stream myself playing Minecraft (or other games).
Minecraft crashes whenever I load this pack. java.nio.BufferOverflowException
Ensure you're following the installation instructions. Any errors like that are usually due to improper installation or an issue with MCPatcher, not this pack. The latest MCPatcher should be working fine though at the moment.
I downloaded this pack, put it in my textures folder. Then minecraft crashed, and now after it says Mojan spefications, it crashes and i dont know how to remove it without clicking on the "open texture pack folder" in the textures tab, WTF :/ (Im not blaming it on you i just want to be able to play minecraft again) Thanks :/
Read the installation instructions, they're there for a reason. Failing to follow them will cause the game to crash in the way you described.
To uninstall, just delete the 'version' file in the bin folder.
Heyo. I'm sure you here this a lot but this pack wins. I honestly cannot play without this.
Also, to add to the sushi talk thing and a bit off topic, we would just need rice for that. Sushi is actually just the type of rice that is used, but is traditionally served with fish, be it cooked or uncooked. Raw fish has a different name.
Don't want to be a snob or anything. I love sushi, especially when raw fish is involved...
Hmm. I hadn't actually gotten a chance to play with the new pack in Minecraft beta 1.2, but I'm not a huge fan of the new mob spawners and the new iron doors. Can I get them back somehow?
I installed the texture pack and the mm files, worked perfectly. I then went on to install that torch mod and it gave me a black screen. I just drag and dropped the files to minecraft.jar. What did I do wrong?
The torch mod isn't updated yet.

Yeah, I mentioned having sushi the other night that contained no fish at all. And sashimi is indeed awesome.

I sort of miss the old cobble based furnaces. Now that it uses the rock/brick style, can the old rubble/cobble style (plus dispenser) be an alternate?
Love the intestine hellrock. Of the glowstone alternates, the one on the far right is my favorite. For hellmud (faces) my favorite is the current default.
I do prefer the old iron block. That was meant to be the top surface I think, but it was shiny and bright. Now it is rather close in color to smoothstone, though it does match the iron door.
*EDIT* \/\/ If the below is referring to me: wat? I'm clear with how to edit terrain.png but still have opinions. Otherwise, yeah I know. It's kinda depressing.
I'll say what i said to Aaegon, your right up there in my top 3 favourites. Along with Aaegon and Dante80.
I wonder what a triple collab would be like. [=
Misa, is there a problem with your water ?? its not like it used to be
It should be the same as always if you're using the latest MCPatcher. If you're using the older version, it'll only have the default water. Another thing to note is that on the latest version of MCPatcher Custom Portals are supported! So that custom portal graphic I accidentally included in my pack should retroactively be working for everyone now!

I'm getting a strange texture on the top of the furnace, it's a flame and then transparent window that allows you to see really far into the ground. Any ideas what I can do to fix it?
Improper installation, outdated MCPatcher, or conflicting mods - Take your pick. To troubleshoot it, just go through that checklist and ensure everything is in proper order.

This is the error report I get when I try to launch Minecraft with your texture pack. Since I am using a mac all I have to do is have the game in the Texture Pack folder. I am not the only one though this happens to all my friends that play minecraft on a mac get an error report when they try to start the game with your texture pack. hope you can find a way to make the texture pack compatible with mac.
Please read the red text at the top of the first post here. There's nothing I can do about any of this as I'm not a programmer, just an artist. Error messages are gibberish to me.

I have a slight problem.
When installing this with the better light mod, the dirt beneath the grass turns green aswell. Normal dirt blocks are still brown, but the cliff dirt blocks with the grassy edge are turned green.
I reckon this should not be the case?
Not an issue with my pack. Check for conflicting mods with the Better Light mod you may have installed, and post in that forum.

After I install this texture pack, I cannot get mrmods to install right at all. I downloaded the extra files for SimpleMap and that works, but when I have Better Light ticked it doesnt install. It works fine on normal texture packs though.
It's working fine for me and others. You may want to check for conflicting mods, or try a completely clean install. Again though, this isn't really an issue with my pack as much as issues with MCPatcher most likely.
And to those using the latest MCPatcher enjoy my new portal animations! I'll be running my tinychat again all day if you need live help.

Sweet, thanks. I remember you said something about the alternates being in a separate file a few pages back, and I couldn't find it in the .zip. So this helps a lot. :smile.gif:

I'm about to upload it as a second file, but just now I updated again, and the current alternates file is included in there.
New update notably includes a better glowstone texture, more alternate textures, and some other minor fixes to textures. I've also updated minimap support for MrMMods.
