...Oh and how about leaves with connected textures? To see the highest part are different as the deepest or middle part, also the left and right site.
I think I've addressed this before. Leaves are hard enough to do as it is due to the transparency bits and needing to keep the edges balanced and tileable. Standard CTM is also one of the most difficult things to do and really only well-suited to things that have frames. My tree ring CTM was probably the single most difficult thing I've ever done. I also believe I've said in the past that I'm not happy with my leaves at the moment, but every time I've tried to fix the situation, I've never been satisfied with the new results. So yeah, I don't think CTM for leaves is really practical for this pack, but I'll try to think of some way to improve leaves in the future.
Though you'll probably say no, I thought I might bring this up to your attention. This definitely does not fit the conditions you have mentioned, but I was thinking that maybe you could try making textures for big modpacks like tekkit and voltz. They barely update so if you make the textures fast enough, you could make it work. Just maybe work on it as like a long term side project.
No need and no point to. There's already a bunch of fans out there who have created companion textures for my pack and various mods. Just Google around. I don't use any of those mods, so I wouldn't really be the best one to do their textures any justice. I also have so many things to do on the main pack that trying out new mods like these to get a good strong feel for them would just be counter-productive.
I have problems with the pack.
Minecraft gets realy slow when I use your pack.
But it was great at the 1.47 version. No problems.
Has anyone a Idea what's wrong?
Sooo, I'm curious what happened with the textures with this update? I first and formost noticed it with the ores... THey look much more muddy, dark, and dull.
The dull muddy one is 1.5 the other is 1.4.7
And I'm curious to know where you got that texture on the right--because it certainly wasn't from my pack. It's clearly been edited to increase contrast and saturation. I made this pack in the first place because the bright colors on the default pack wore out my eyes after extended periods of play and the realistic setting lends itself well to this color scheme. You either edited it yourself and forgot, downloaded someone else's pack that used some of my textures with edits, or downloaded an illegal re-posting of my pack that had the saturation and contrast increased to above realistic levels. I have at no point edited the saturation or contrast of my lapis lazuli ore blocks.
Also "muddy,"--you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. Muddy textures refer to anything that causes textures to look like they're being viewed through a filthy lens. This is most often a result of low resolution textures that look really blurry or messy when bilinear/trilinear filtering is applied by the rendering engine. It can also apply to textures that have a lot of compression artifacts (as can be found in jpegs) The correct terms you're looking for are desaturated and low contrast--which is pretty much the intended color design for a realistic setting that doesn't make use of dynamic lighting or auto color correction.
Pro-tip: If you want my texture pack to look like the image on the right with little effort, go into your video card or monitor's settings and increase the contrast and saturation. With these simple adjustments you can make any texture pack as radioactively eye-raping as you want:
...The planks have no variance because of no remaining CTM, but look far more realistic for houses (imo)
I replaced the far corner with slabs to illustrate the appearance of before I deleted the CTM file...
...with the issue I'm having with the zip file in general, I can't even make any of the changes I want to the pack. I've already got all the blocks changed (including Red Velvet Cake (and item), Blue Creeper Blanket Bed (excluding item), Moss Stone, Lapis Block, Wood Door, and a few others)... I just need to copy them into the zip folder (and because of the error I mentioned previously, I can't (simple "Not Implemented" error).)I'm not sure I agree that the solution you came up with looks better, but I'll play with them a bit and see if I can come up with something better. It does make sense to have the blocks different from the slabs for variance. I just have to consider the impact this could have on people's builds, and what design compromise would work well.
In the meantime you could always try using Google to find a fix for corrupt zip files--especially if you're on Mac or Linux. They typically seem to the only OS's that have been affected by this in the past. On my end, the downloaded zip file works perfectly fine so I'm sure there has to be a way to fix/recover the zip on your end until I can repack it and post another update.
Misa, love the pack. I cannot play minecraft without it.
I have noticed that the texture for an activated detector rail is missing (It looks like it's glowing whenever a mine cart is on top of it). It just shows the default texture (I guess the upside of the new texture format).
Already been reported and already fixed for the next update.
...i noticed that your pack has a lot of animations and a lot of randomobs, so, if you delete unneeded animations and randomobs, everyone could get a better performance! (not sure if this works, but i am making a suggestion).
I've already stated twice that it's Mojang's handling of the CTM files in my pack that's bogging down the performance. randomobs and animations aren't a huge performance hog, and there's no reason for me to delete these things if people can do this themselves if it helps them.
Is there somewhere I can download a previous version of the texture pack? I would like to get the one for 1.4.7 again if possible.
Thanks
Erm... Did you even attempt to look for this beforehand? Like at the very first paragraph of the entire thread? Or y'know, the download section... The places you'd normally look for such a thing...
!!!Spoiler Alert!!!
What you're asking for has been available on the first post since 1.5 came out.
After I deleted the CTM file for Birch Planks:
Left is slabs, right is planks (except where I threw slabs in for comparison)
The planks have no variance because of no remaining CTM, but look far more realistic for houses (imo)
I replaced the far corner with slabs to illustrate the appearance of before I deleted the CTM file.
Edit: I can't even figure out how you did random textures for Oak planks. I can't figure out where the file is (in the latest pack... unless my download is incomplete) Found it (I either overlooked it or it was missing... either way, found it)
Another Edit: 3rd Download link (when it works) has the same issue. Can't wait for re compressed version to go up.
Yet Another Edit: with the issue I'm having with the zip file in general, I can't even make any of the changes I want to the pack. I've already got all the blocks changed (including Red Velvet Cake (and item), Blue Creeper Blanket Bed (excluding item), Moss Stone, Lapis Block, Wood Door, and a few others)... I just need to copy them into the zip folder (and because of the error I mentioned previously, I can't (simple "Not Implemented" error).)
As I agree that the ctm doesn't look good for a house i personally like it a lot better than the none ctm version.
I would like to suggest a way to make it work for a house. Instead of having the outline of wood for each layer of block you could instead filled in with the wood and only have the outlines at corner and top/bottom of a house. This will give a very nice vertical wood look for a house while keeping with the current look of the wood. I would also like you to revisit the birch stairs if possible to better match as I feel they stand out too much compared to the rest of the birch wood.
Hopefully that isn't that hard to change like that. Keep up the awesome work Misa!
As usual your texture pack never ceases to impress. The Rose Quartz is simply the best. I missed it before and I saw your command block for the first time; It is so late 1960's perfect! "This is your mission Mr. Phelps, should you choose to accept it." Yes, that is a quote from the original, Mission Impossible. AND, Yes I am old enough to actually remember it
I am now producing Woocraft and I am replacing all the borrowed content as fast as I can. I am unsure if Wooraah got permission before including your fantastic work. If Wooraah neglected, I apologise in retrospect.
Oh, BTW, I contacted you a long time ago about how you get your fantastic villagers. I read your gracious reply many times and mine have improved 200% but still nowhere near yours; Which are still the best in Minecraft.

(koo-star-neek) The real numbers are countable and I CAN prove it. Cantor was wrong!
Hello, I have just recently updated everything to 1.5, dowloading the latest version of the pack and the latest MCpatcher. Uppon running minecraft I get an extreme performance decrease to the effect of about 4 fps when running misa, and all of the non-animated textures seemt to have no red values (everything is blue green and purple), and I also seem to have gotten the white-sky issue yet again and despite my efforts and following the FAQ, i still haven't been able to correct... Sorry for the inconvenience but would anyone happen to know what's up?
As always, keep up the beautiful work misa, despite my current issues it's still my favorite pack.
EDIT:
Note- I have read some of the previous pages, I DID turn off openGL, and had no change and I have also tryed the 512mb Heapsize fix for the inverted blue-red values, which also had no effect-
I love this pack, more than any other I've ever tried. Sadly, even with Advanced GL/Vsync off, textures/view-distance on low, my i7 920, 6gb ram (4gb allocated via mcpatcher), and recently driver updated GTX 470 cannot keep the frame-rate steadily above 25 (sometimes dipping under 7 while on rail). Where as several other texture packs keep it locked at 60+ with everything on high/far. Java was uninstalled, then reinstalled within the last week, and I still have 2gb free of memory while playing the game. I'll regrettably be using other x64 texture packs from this point forward.
Well, the texture missing isn't the one for the activator rail but for an activated detector rail
Have you tried disabling Advanced OpenGL. As stated several times now, it seems to increase the performance best.
when i tried disabling advanced openGL my game became unplayable, but i have fixed it reducing the files used with the pack Example: randomobs, better skies.etc
i was wondering if someone could tell me how to chage the color of the water texture without deleting it, i want to make it more Blue-ish
I'm not sure I agree that the solution you came up with looks better, but I'll play with them a bit and see if I can come up with something better. It does make sense to have the blocks different from the slabs for variance. I just have to consider the impact this could have on people's builds, and what design compromise would work well.
Granted my solution isn't the best, it is the best I could come up with with low art skills (at least that I thought looked better). I do appreciate that you are taking a look into this. Even if it only makes the future alternates pack, any help getting Birch Plank wall houses to look nicer is appreciated. I just can't stand the border look.

As I've stated/implied, I don't like having no CTM Birch Planks (including Random), but I believe it lends itself more to realism than the current variety.
I'm going to emphasize this here: I do NOT like the outline look for walls (outside, anyway... inside would look nice, but given one or the other...).
Vertical planks would be acceptable. I actually don't need a change to the slabs (allows for 2 separate styles of the same wood) as I can use that look in other ways. As long as the stairs match the planks (at least more than the slabs), I'm happy.

I did not consider there were ways to fix damaged zip files. I'll do that. Thank you.
PS: does this mean I'm the 1st with Windows to have this problem? lol (I know other's probably have as well, I'm just being funny here).
PPS: I really hope there is a fix. I really want to get back to using this texture pack with customizations (actually, haven't tried it at all yet just 'cause it seems like it'd not want to work... and I've been super busy delivering pizza).
I use mc pather, instaling minecraft forge and further water is gray.
HELP PLEASE.
Afraid you won't get much help in the texture pack thread where the problem doesn't start from.
If MC Patcher not working with Forge is the problem, try the MC Patcher thread.
Better: If Forge not working with MC Patcher is the problem or Forge making the water gray is the problem, ask on the Forge thread.

Hey Misa. Thank you very much for the update, it's looking gorgeous:)) One question though,, how may I slow down the redstone block flickering/glowing, to make it more like "emerald block" glowing effect? For me it's flickering to fast.
Thanks
have a nice day
The Block of Emerald has 77 frames
The Block of Redstone has 29 frames
The file you are looking for is blockredstone.txt
Simplest solution: Add *2 after each line to delay the animation by 1 frame (would make it the equivilent of apx 58 frames, or 1/2 as fast (*3 would make it apx 87 frames, or 1/3 as fast))

What you're asking for has been available on the first post since 1.5 came out.
I had looked, and the first paragraph only mentions that the previous version will remain available, but it didn't say where. The downloads section did have a link, though when I skimmed through it before I missed the following: Pre 1.5 version: LINK(No longer updated.).
Sadly, Though I love Misa's, I cant get everything from it. No matter how many times I install, reinstall, and double check everything, MCPatcher has never worked for me. I get the black screen every time upon starting MC with MCP. As such I have relied entirely on Optifine for Misa's. Until 1.5 this worked perfectly fine. Now, I have grey 1% milk colored water (due to Optifine not being up to date), my Smooth Sandstone is no longer beautifully connected for floors, and Chiseled Sandstone no longer has the awesome scarab beetle texture when it's independent and Chiseled Stone Brick is no longer connected. Because I cant run MCP I don't know if this was done on purpose or if its a problem on my end.
If this was done on purpose, please Misa, bring back the old attributes of chiseled stone brick and sandstone from 1.4.7 It was outstanding! I loved everything about Misa's until 1.5 except for the cobble. Absolutely the best texture pack I'd ever seen overall by far! I love how Quartz and Redstone Blocks turned out! Epic! The quartz trim on comparators is very nice touch The solar panel array feel of the Daylight Detectors is very well done too

wait a sec... your issue is that you unzip the misa's texture pack zip and then you customise it, then you compress it again and it doesnt work?, if thats the problem, then, when you compress it again, be sure it is a ZIP, and not a RAR file, hope it helps!
Thanks man,, I managed to do it as you described. The flickering is now slower, but the emerald has some kind of "occasional" flickering,, it's like flickering every 3 sec. or so. Is it possible to make the Redstone block to shine like that? even if I have to modify the actual image.
i don't know why would Misa make it blink so fast, it's like a disco light )) Emerald in the other hand is so smooth!
Thanks again for the tip VashTS240
I looked at a lot of the txt files when I was figuring this out, and both emerald and redstone are, by default, each image one time. Some (such as torches) are varied slightly from straight through each image.
You probably have to edit the image yourself to get the desired results, though without trying it myself, I'm certain it'll be more complicated than that (off hand I know you have to make sure each new image down the line is the same dimensions & you'd have to add a number to the txt file for each new image, I'm not sure if that's it or if there's more). Of course now that I've finished replying to this whole post, let me add this sentence in: you could just mess around with different numbers next to the * to see what gets it to look like you want, though, again, just a guess on what could work.
I will not speculate on why the redstone block looks like that beyond that it is compressed powered redstone and she feels that is what it would naturally do...

I never unzip the texture pack. I open it up in 7zip and copy the files to edit out, edit them, and copy them back in (1st time). after the 1st time, I have the files & folders saved on my desktop to where I just copy them back in for the next update. (post 1.5 method. pre 1.5 required editing every update)
Besides, I never compress in RAR. only in ZIP.
Appreciate the advice, but I already used Misa's advice and found a repair tool & it works like a charm now. I was able to get some of the files out before, but not back in. Now all/both ways.
That wasn't done on purpose. Actually it wasn't done at all. These blocks and all other blocks too behave like they did pre 1.5.
It's probably a problem with Optifine.
Do you follow the installation instructions when using MCPatcher (Cleaning your installation etc.)?
Or are you using any other mods? If you do so, clean your installation and try installing the mods via MCPatcher and check if they are compatible.
Something else you might try is patching Minecraft, launching it, wait for the Black Screen and close it, then patch again. That worked for me several times.
Thanks! Actually the latest optifine came out today, Misa is once again the best texture pack I've ever found! (aside from the ugly cobble that is, still prefer Johnsmith's rendition) Great Job! Appreciate all the hard work you put into the wonderful TP <3
Thank you for adding a mirror link straight to the download. With all the Proxy and adblock I have running for me on Linux, ad.fly never works! I will test it out and then most probably diamond and favourite on PMC.

I'm a deep, intelligent, creative soul with a sharp tongue (that I keep to myself) and strong opinions of right and wrong. (My beliefs are similar to those of Lisbeth Salander) I am a supporter of common sense, and believe that there's an exception to every rule (even that one just mentioned).
I'm having issues with removing the custom font from the current .zip file. I do not care for it and have had no issues removing it previously. I've tried redownloading the file twice now and have the same problem. I am unable to unpack the .zip to repack it without the fonts folder, or just delete it from the zip like I'd always done.
Using 7-zip 9.20 ... if that makes a difference. It throws "Unsupported Compression Method" errors:

(post 1.5 method. pre 1.5 required editing every update)
Besides, I never compress in RAR. only in ZIP.
Appreciate the advice, but I already used Misa's advice and found a repair tool & it works like a charm now. I was able to get some of the files out before, but not back in. Now all/both ways.
Thanks! Actually the latest optifine came out today, Misa is once again the best texture pack I've ever found! (aside from the ugly cobble that is, still prefer Johnsmith's rendition) Great Job! Appreciate all the hard work you put into the wonderful TP <3
I am a supporter of common sense, and believe that there's an exception to every rule (even that one just mentioned).
Using 7-zip 9.20 ... if that makes a difference. It throws "Unsupported Compression Method" errors:
