Is there anyway that someone who knows absolutely nothing about computers can download this? I'm 19 and never did anything with computers except talk to friends, watch videos and listen to music so I have no idea how to do any of this.
1.Ensure your game is clean by deleting 'version' and 'minecraft.original.jar' (if it exists) from your bin folder. Where is the bin folder?
I know I won't get an answer as a lot of people have asked for help and didn't get any so I thought I would give it a small try.
I spent a few minutes stupidly trying the bm.64.class of the different folders not understanding why this would work. Misa's pack is 64x64 after all. But after actually reading the forum post I realized you should use bm.16.class in the root folder of the rar. I eventually got it to work. Thanks for posting this here too, Trivialist.
Out of all the trolling that is the minecraft community, it's good to see some constructive users here.

There's a bunch of tutorials on the forums about this.
Type %appdata%\.minecraft\.bin into the Windows Explorer bar and hit enter and it should take you right to it on any version of Windows. If you've never installed a mod or texture pack in your life, your version is already clean.
Why so pessimistic? The only reason I've been ignoring some technical support questions lately is because they've already been answered in this forum repeatedly. It gets tiresome to type the same thing out over and over when someone could easily just use the 'search this topic' feature. I do read every post between my last post and the latest post and then respond to all of those, wherever a response is warranted. Kinda like I'm doing now. Before I started this thread under a couple of months ago, I had 10 posts (compare to my sign-up date), an overwhelming majority of my current post count is from answering questions here.
I had no idea such a mod existed! I should add the support files for it next patch if I can get it working with the other mods I use. Looks like you split them up by hue difference too. Exactly what I would've done had they not already been split in my main editing file
Notch REALLY needs to make this a standard feature.. It's annoying having to install a million other things each time I install my pack on a new version. :/
The grass textures look amazing but I can't get them to work. Anyone having similar problems? I've tried copying the .class files into the minecraft folders where the textures are suppose to go. Am I doing something wrong, or does the latest version not support the beta? I'm only modifying the minecraft.jar file. Am I suppose to also edit the minecraft-1.1_02.jar as well? Am I possibly not putting the .class files in the right slot?
I have the textures working, but not the grass. Cheers for any help or insight.
Thank you! I was just about to try doing that myself. If this works correctly, and if the wild grass mod gets updated, then my graphics overhaul will be complete.
Until I think of something else to fiddle around with, anyway.
A question though, would it be possible to replace the standard cyan shirt guy with something that fits better?
If I get unlazy enough, I'll think about adding an alternative resource to the Alternate Sex/Race Player Character Pack. It's kinda easy for me to forget about those, because I just use the default one for players online without skins. I used to use a custom high resolution skin for my own player but then I got annoyed seeing a bunch of hi-res versions of me when playing online. Now I'm kinda lazy and just use my low-res skin which seems to still work well with the pack.

There is a problem with the water not being seamless, I can see small breaks between the water tiles in the form of white pixels. I think it might be an issue with transparency for the water in the terrain.png file.
The water does tile seamlessly in the actual texture files, the issue is with all HD texture packs with animated water. Some video cards under certain settings don't get the effect and others do. It boils down to an issue with MCPatcher though. I've had this issue crop up from time to time, just to see people report it, then retract their report saying they no longer got it once MCPatcher was updated. So yeah, not much of anything I can do it about it aside from suggesting you play with the 3D settings on your video card, or report it to xau in hopes he fixes the issue.
I have changed every setting for my GFX card with no avail, anyone have any input on how to fix this?
Also turning off animated water in MCpatcher does nothing, the water is still animated.
EDIT: I've essentially fixed the issue for myself. Though instead of white pixels there are a small amount of black pixels instead, but it's barely noticeable. I can now use this texture pack without that annoying bug.
as soon as i open the hd texture pack patcher or something and i browse for the file and find it, it just goes to a log and then i have no clue what to do!
I must say I've looked around for more texture packs and I keep coming back to this one. Its just so beautiful. I just wish you had a 128x128 version as well :biggrin.gif:
I'd love if you'd make an option available to have one with out biome support, so color on the leaves and grass, Please i'd love that option
You can copy and paste these into the appropriate spots in terrain.png, I'll also include them as alt resources in terrain.png next patch. If you're using a client that supports biomes, be sure to also erase the content in grasscolor and foliagecolor.png, or turn it all white.
Alternatively, you can grab the greener, simpler vegetation download on the main thread which sorta mutes the drastic color changes of the main mod.
To all those voicing their support, the words of encouragement are much appreciated. :smile.gif: Time in between patches has slowed down mostly because the pack is pretty well up-to-date. Expect there to be fairly quick updates though whenever mods I support (Wild Grass, please!) updates their need for art resources, or new blocks or mobs are added to the game by Notch.
Also I somewhat recently posted an alternate art pack over here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=53692&start=30#p1620861
Now it probably doesn't match the aim of this pack very well, but there are a lot of other good alternate paintings over here which fit the 64x64 theme, uploaded by other users. Check 'em out if you're bored with the default paintings and looking for a change.
Looks cool, but seems TOO realistic for a game where everything is a cube... Kind of makes it more surreal than realistic.
You really should give it a try. In my opinion it is well rounded and fits into the game perfectly. Best pack iv'e ever used. A few things could be tweaked but I just end up tweaking them myself. I highly recommend this pack.
This is amazingly great. the only grey smooth stone I like. the default smooth stone looked so flat and repeative I thought I was a placeholder texture =o.
Also are you taking request for custom tile textures? if not just ignore the rest of this post.
If you are willing to make 3 tiles and 1 item then let me try and describe what I was hoping for, in 64X64 size of course, that's why I'm asking here.
anyways I was trying to building on dragon craft's idea of turning the nether into "dragon graveyard" and also making the nether (and surface building make of nether blocks) look bloody and horrorfying.
Nether stone -> bones and some blood, maybe a dragon skull with small red golw in the eyesockets if you can get that to work
Soul sand -> An eye or two with lots of blood and some other gore, ment to be medium on a "gross out scale" like ewwww but not over the top.
Glowstone -> I had the thought to turn this into a sorta crystalized dragon soul, having somewhat of an outline of a dragon.
GlowStone dust -> inline with the change to the block make the dust just the outline seen on the glowstone block
I hope I described that well enough, english is my native language but sadly I never lernt it well. If you need better descriptions I can try editing some screen shots my self for a general Idea of what I'm tring to describe.

For use with biome colors on sides of grass
Thank you for making such a beautiful texture pack.
Thank you for mentioning the other mods which make it look even better.
And above all, thank you for providing clear instructions to get them to work together.

Retired Staffanytime I'm asked, your pack is mentioned
