Actually I get much better performance with this HD pack than I do with the default, Only problem is I'm using a weekly snapshot(assuming thats the problem) so all my dirt has this animation on it. :sad.gif:

Very nice video! Mind if I use it on my main thread next time I update?

Bread looks like a turd. Not bread. Try to get a texture that looks like bread.
It doesn't look like a turd unless you have turds that look like a loaf of French bread. Though I guess it could use some improvement. I'll see what I can do about improving its recognizability.
You've mentioned in the OP that you won't make a higher resolution version due to horrible noise distortion in the distance; but have you considered the mipmap options you get with Optifine? I think this texture pack would be absolutely brilliant in a higher resolution, you really needn't worry about the grainy-ness any more! Hope you do consider the idea.
Mip-mapping was just one of many reasons for why I don't see myself going higher than 64x64 which I've outlined in greater detail in other posts. As far as Optifine's mip-mapping goes, it really blows and doesn't even come close to resembling real hardware mip-mapping (Which I used to be able to force into Minecraft on older drivers for my video card.). It has horribly nasty issues with binary transparency as well.
I personally have no use for Optifine anyway. It doesn't fully support all the features my pack offers that MCPatcher does, and as far as the performance boosts go, I wouldn't be playing games on a PC if I didn't have a gaming PC that could already handle anything I throw at it.
Generally I don't feel my pack would look good at a higher resolution though on this blocky game. At a point it begins to just look like flattened photographs of things pasted to blocks rather than texturing. Things that would be required to make it work in my opinion would be a proper light engine with advanced texture layering effects (Normals, specular, height, reflectivity, etc.), long distance tiling so you can have a single, super large texture spanning over multiple blocks of the same type so as to avoid issues with excessive tiling that the game currently has, and a proper 3D rendering engine that takes full advantage of hardware. There's also issues with performance on the majority of machines that are running Minecraft, and having to update more than one texture pack every update just to please everyone...
...And I'm going to stop now before this turns into an endless rant. I'm sure you can find more detailed rants and reasons on why I likely won't be going higher than 64x64 if you use the search feature.
I really do like your texture pack once Misa always Misa.
But in the latest versions , i do not like the water mainly the swamp color.
Is there any way for me to easily change it back to the greenish one ?
Edit watercolor.png Whenever I get around to optimizing my animations with the new system I'll think about including an alternates folder with more than just stuff for terrain.png

Why is STONE brown since the version 403?
It's not in general. It only has a brownish hue in desert biomes to look dusty and a greenish hue in swamps and jungles to look slightly mossy. If you don't want this it's a very simple matter of just opening my pack, going into the misc folder and deleting stonecolor.png.

Idk if I asked this before, but is it possible to give the tamed cats a randomob alt? Because I would love to have a red cat and a white cat with red spots (for the same cat skin)
I already have ideas planned out for this. Mobs aren't something I can just quickly throw together though. So please be patient. I do plan to keep them realistic though and somewhat related to their categories. For the black cats, I plan to do mostly blacks, whites and bicolors, for red cats, I plan to do varied tabby types and tortoiseshell, and for Siamese I plan to throw in some Persian and Himalayan.
This is epic! But can you please remove the star thing from the enchantment table? Its looks like an Illuminahti thing
That "star thing" is a Pentacle. Its used in many different ways including magic because of which it is often mistaken as a satanic marking. Here read.
First of all, I'd like to gratulate you on getting the front page. As if it should be nescessary, this is the pack everyone points to as a paradigm of an outstanding texture pack.
However, I am begging you to do something about your basic stone texture. Everything else looks beautiful, but the basic stone texture have a horrible tiling issue. If you look at it from far away, the differences in brightness in different parts of the texture makes a diamondshaped grid pattern. I have tried, several times and with disasterous results, to fix this myself, but to no avail. Will you do this? Please?
Please post your sys specs.
Life is a Learning Curve....
Unfortunately, you're stuck on the bottom...amongst the bones of the stupid.
Use the latest MCPatcher.
Ya McPatcher fixed that for me
k thanks
A reckoning is not to be postponed indefinitely. Lacre cannot bury the law. All shall be well and all manner of things shall be well.
At second, what do you use that the sky in your screenshots looks so beautifull?

It would be awesome adding mod textures!!
Thx

Hey, Leonardo, the painting is epic but could you remove that smile from Gioconda's face, It looks like she's laughing at me?
Go figure
