hey guys I found the solution to my black screen. it was my Java that was 32-bit instead of 64bit, since my Windows 7 is 64bit. just downloaded the 64bit and it worked =] this could help lots of dudes like me lol great texture btw, looks like LB photo realistic pack but better.
In the future, is there a way you could work on using your pack for the aether as doku did before he quit? just a suggestion, cause your pack is the only one i use now and the best in my opinion.
This texture pack is just amazing, specially with the recommended mods. I had been playing MC mostly to make experiments with a lot of mods, but now, with this pack, I find myself playing just for the pleasure of seeing the scenery again, like the first time I played the game. And the monsters have actually gave me a jump or two again, even the zombies! That headless one, god dammit.
I would also said that there needs to be support for the aether, but I fear my comp wouldn't be able to manage that mod with this texture pack -unless I go into the whole modifying the java allocated memory-, still, just the normal game with this texture is awesome enough for me. I just can't wait to find slimes, they look cool on the pic.
Aaaand that's why I need to read before I post, I was just in a hurry to compliment this pack, that's my excuse. I fully support Misa's rationale for not making aether textures, like I said, just he normal game with this pack becomes new again. And I've also seen somebody else made aether support and I may end up trying it.
Diamond tier tools are light blue with white highlights, not grey.
The blades of the sword and axe are completely different than the iron counterparts, too.
One could see how the pickaxe is close to the iron one both in colour and silhouette, but it's also the most inflexible tool in design. A super-ornate design would be impractical on a such a heavy-duty tool. It wouldn't look right.
So what exactly would be done to it? "Make it look a bit more diamondy" is a vague suggestion.
That's how real cut diamonds are. Flat and colourless. Nothing like vanilla's solid cyan.
That's how diamonds look when they are processed, they are in fact rather randomly sized and randomly shaped. Its how we use them for tools (like saws for metal, drill bit tips and so on). As far as i'm concerned the tools look fine, if anything they should just have diamond tips (for a more real look as to how they should appear)
With the introduction of creative mode in 1.8, it looks like chainmail will be legitimately obtainable. Like I said in the past, once that happened I'd get around to making a chainmail. Since my current default Iron armor is close to what I want chainmail to be, I had to remake some parts of the iron armor. So yeah, expect a new iron armor and chainmail next patch.
Also thanks as always for all the positive comments.
Wow those armors look great. I like your pack a lot, and I shall continue using it ! Thank you Misa for supporting Randomobs, and bringing us so many cool features !
Sorry for the wolves and ghasts, but Anthony (when he was still here) and myself have been working on this issue for a long time, trying out every possible solution, and we didn't manage to get them to work. That's why we just decided not to include them in Randomobs. I went on IRC several time (thanks to the guys from #risucraft), but never managed to get it working.
Thanks! And no problem, I'm happy with Randomobs as it is, and happy to continue supporting it (I have more skeletons planned for next update too!). I rarely use the wolves and go into the Nether anyway. If it were just for the animals, I'd be happy with it as is. Though I must admit that doing the spiders is probably the most fun I've had skinning textures for.
No I'm happy with 64x64, and you're getting a black screen because you're probably not following the installation instructions properly.
Any solution?
I did everything right. I have others Mods and Texture Packs installed that work. the Texture packs that work are only the ones in 32x!!
I deleted Meta.Inf, put the files in minecraft.jar and tried everything!! also patch my Minecraft with MCPatcher.
but how???
Open with an image editing software, take the full resolution, resize the image to half of that.

I think I'm satisfied with 'em enough to call them done now.
