All issues with portals and watches are completely beyond my control (or anyone else's control who authors an HD pack) We all basically have to wait for xau to release an updated version of his HD texture fix, or some other java programmer to come up with a workaround mod. It's a software issue, not a graphical resource one.
Ah thank you! (just so you know i wasnt blaming you, i was asking)
So im asuming either this image was edited, or taken before the portal problem? :
Uhg still cant find link to thread (if i rember, it was on the first page of mapping and modding, and the flowers had outlines, looked very cartoony, dont remebr name.) Looked alot like this, but cant find right one D=
anyways, it had a picture of a portal working normaly (no strips, his/her texture on it, it wasnt 16x16)
ill keep looking so i look less troll like o.o
I seem to recall that texture pack too. I also forget the name, but I'm pretty sure the thread stated it was photoshopped just to show how it'll look when the issues with portals are fixed. I remember getting my hopes up briefly over it too.

I love this texture pack. I only have 1 request.
Make the background in the inventory lighter to give more contrast. Dark objects like armor, obsidian, coal, blend into the background so much it's hard to identify what they are.
This is probably my favorite texture pack, but I've been having kind of a bear of a time getting it working with the new version. For some reason it breaks my ability to connect to servers every time I install it. I just get an indefinite "Connecting to server" message. Going back to a bare install, or using a different texture pack, doesn't seem to cause the same problem.
On a more hopefully helpful note though, I want to say the flower textures aren't bad, but they look very flat and "papery", owing to the pixelation as well as the very simplified model. It's the main area I'd suggest for future improvement in my personal opinion.
John Smith 32x32 (started off with this)
Misa's 64 x 64
and I've been watching Aza's Arid Texture pack 128 x 128 for a different desert tone.
But this is my staple so I wanted to drop by and say "fantastic" job.
What I really like is the fact it's a complete pack...everything has pretty much been addressed.
I do have a couple of suggestions but please know these are just that a few things amongst the many that are great...
Art pack - Be nice to see some options in the art pack maybe a little more "artistic" approach as opposed to the silly and skull defaults.
Flowers - with as detailed and crisp as the rest of the pack is the flowers somehow look more pixelated than the rest, maybe a little too tall as well.
cobblestone - a little dark perhaps...but that's my personal opinion.
Half bricks -I'd like to see them a different color then the stone or maybe a slightly different pattern on them, just for variety.
Ores - Would like to see the materials (gold, red stone, coal, iron) be a little less dominating in the block, smaller chunks.
Keep up the great work, and thanks ALOT for sharing your texture pack with the rest of us.
IF there ever is a 64 x 64 texture pack contest you have my vote.
Sorry for the lack of responses, I've been pretty busy lately with real life stuff, and there probably won't be an update this weekend, but seeing as I put out an update early in the week ahead of schedule, I'm sure you'll all make due until next weekend. Now onto some responses!

Initially I liked the fact that the active item bar matched the menu windows well, but you're probably right. I'll look into changing it next patch.

I really suggest you fix those ugly patterns that some of the textures create when tiling (like the grass).
Yeah, this has sorta bugged me too. A big problem I seem to keep running into is if I want it to tile well, I really have to drastically drop the quality of the texture itself. I've tried all sorts of tiling methods, and I just can't seem to maintain the high level of detail on such a uniform spread without it looking even MORE tiled. I am working on it though, eventually I'll probably redo grass completely from scratch once BetterGrass is better able to support biomes.

Hey, could you possibly darken the Hellstone texture? It's just a tad bit too bright too look creepy/evil. Or could you tell me how to do it myself?
I did up the contrast on it a tiny bit on this latest while addressing an issue with the lightstone not glowing enough. I can roll it back to what it was the prior patch though.

This is very unusual... I've never had issues with online play and the pack, and I'm really not sure how this pack would affect any of that. Netcode and textures aren't exactly tied together or anything. All I could suggest is to make sure the installation instructions are followed.

Art Pack - I'm going for a realistic but somewhat vanilla approach with this pack, I may take more creative liberty if I decide to release some other texture packs I've toyed around with. As it is though, there are a lot of stand-alone High-res art packs out there that can be used.
Flowers - There's very little I can seem to do about this until Notch or a mod codes the game to support a full range of alpha transparency. It's really hard to get the edges of sprites just right when you can't anti-alias edges.
Cobblestone/Half-bricks - I'm currently pretty satisfied with the shades of these. The cobblestone is around the same degree of difference in shade from the smooth stone in vanilla. However for the half-blocks, I wanted them to blend in better with smooth-stone structures and just look like cut smooth-stone. There's still the unique cut-look to them, which is enough for me.
Ores - I've had plenty of people say the opposite where they want the entire block to look saturated with ore. I think the ores are currently settled on a nice middle-ground.

Your pack is the most beautiful I know for me but it's compatible with the skin selector from the last update ?
I have suceed without passing the skin selector from the last update... but it's more slow with that beautiful pack.
The alternate player skins are fully compatible with all of the latest versions. The installation instructions have changed though with the last patch, be sure to read them to get this working properly.

I'd love to download this. Shame textures packs always crash my game. Oh well.
All I can suggest here is that you make sure to read the installation instructions. I know most HD texture packs will definitely crash the game if not installed properly. If it's just an issue of it fully loading, but lagging, then crashing, then it's likely an issue with your computer.
If anyone has any issues that require an immediate response (and they've been unable to find their problem addressed in the thread already), feel free to contact me on AIM or something. I really hope next week there'll be some kind of fix to the way biome grass works. I'd really love to play around with that for next update. As it is, there doesn't seem to be much that needs to be updated... Ah, how I miss Secret Friday Updates! They always gave me an excuse to update my pack on a weekly-basis long before it was released to the public. Anyway, have a wonderful weekend!
I downloaded the 1st link, got the .rar file, made into a zip file, put into the new minecraft texture/mod thingy, and it crashed the game sadly -.- not sure if it's something on mine or the file's end

fyi better grass is back and supporting biome colors
of course the side of regular dirt blocks with the strip of green (like at the top of a cliff where better grass doesn't apply) are still messed up as the strip of green is not recolored, so maybe you still hold off on biome colors for grass. dunno.

I have some free time to work on the pack and am all over this now. I've all but completed my grass biome support I'm just gonna leave the sides of grass green as they are on vanilla. BetterGrass with biome support will greatly improve the overall look of things though. To those who don't use BetterGrass... You'll at least be no worse off with the mismatching colors of grass as you would be on the default textures.
Also I just recently found out that the HD texture fix supports custom animated liquids. So everyone can expect overall smoother-looking water with animated caustics and currents. I also plan to animate lava, which should be an even greater undertaking. So next patch will actually have a few new things that aren't just little bug fixes, whee.

New water/lava sounds like undertaking but I look forward to the results.
Better grass already looks incredible with your mod, couldn't play without now that I'm spoiled...can only imagine what it could be like with biome support. Same goes with the trees now that it's already there...really nice effect.
Bummer about the flowers...your assessments on my other suggestions are fair enough. They were nit-picky suggestions anyway...
I do agree with the clear UI background being hard to decipher items like coal when the area is dark. Lighter background sounds much better.
(On my screen its purple strips, i was so excited that i finaly built one that i didnt care xD)

Just the 1st and 3rd? Or just the 1st?
Do i have to install all?
Thanks!
The sheep and pig faces drive me nuts though.
Just the first. The third is optional if you decide to install MrMessiah's mod on top of this.
Read the installation instructions.
