If you dont know who it was, doesnt that mean you dont have permission?
I dont want to be an ass, but before deleting my posts, answer my question.
I've had this in the forums for quite some time, (at least before the last 3 or 4 updates to the game), and in that time only one of the authors has asked me to mention them as the original author of whichever textures I've use in my pack.
What I mean when I say I don't remember where I got each texture from is that when I want a texture, I just go through my collection of them looking for one I like, by the time I get it in place, I'd forget which texture pack I pulled it from.
I don't claim them as my own, just the texture pack.
It is said in the rules not to use others' work without permission.
The worst part is that it's a moderator that's violating the forum rules when we're so desperately in need of someone to enforce them around here.
If you don't remember where you got a texture from, then it's obviously not your own. Common courtesy (and the forum rules) would dictate that permission be obtained before using something that isn't your own.
Apperently you guys aren't getting the picture here. This has been in existence long enough that if someone wanted to make an issue of it, they would have. So far, the only ones doing so are you guys, and this is rather recent compared to how long this texture pack has existed.
I've stated multiple times that I don't remember who owns which textures, and so far only one of the owners has made an issue of it, and that was over one or two game updates ago.
Enough of this pack is made by me that you should have no issue accepting it as is.
Seriously though guys, please just drop it already?
If you know the original author(s) of a given texture, and wish to have them contact CreeperDaReeper privately to discuss permissions for distribution, feel free to do so. In any event, this is a discussion better suited for PMs, not this thread.
This pack is older than the rules you are saying its breaking. I'm not hurting anyone or anything with it. I state which textures are mine from scratch, which are modified, & which aren't be me. Now leave me alone.
Any posts pertaining to this argument, after this post, will be ignored just because I'm tired of you guys whining about something that doesn't need to be whined about.
If I were to say, use an Adf.ly download link, then there would be something to whine about, but I don't for the exact reason that its not all my work.
This is here for the enjoyment of others. If you don't enjoy it, or just don't like it, just quitely, & calmly go away. Thank you.

I went and spoke with the forum administration/moderators, the issue of this texture pack breaking any rules has been resolved, and i better describe this at the bottom of the OP.

If you guys would go look at the OP real quick, I did add a much better credits section. Most if not all textures are properly credited now.
I did not steal any of this work. I admit that I use textures from other packs and that I don't have said author's expressed premission to use them. But untill such time as they post here, or PM to stop using them, I am alowed to keep using them.
In other words, I'm not breaking the rules right now. I will be glad to stop using anyone else's textures as long as said original owner tell's me to stop.

We're trying to decide what gives you the special exception to the rule that states:
"Permission must be obtained from the original creator, and due credit must be given, before including any element of that creator's work."
Your lack of due diligence does not exempt you from this requirement.
This is a thread about your texture pack, and whether you like it or not, this discussion is quite on-topic. I wouldn't be surprised if you misuse your connections to delete such posts. It would explain why so much of this section has become a frontier town where upholding the law is left to the people.

Either remove the content you didn't get permission for or just get out.
I'm honestly confused how someone that's KNOWINGLY BREAKING THE RULES by releasing a REMIX PACK FULL OF CONTENT THEY DIDNT GET PERMISSION FOR thinks they have the right to delete the posts of all the people POINTING OUT THE OBVIOUS.
I just can't believe you're being made an exception just because you're a mod. Anyone else that comes in and does this usually gets dealt with, but apparently mods are completely allowed to steal content anytime they want.
It's pretty obvious to everyone, deleting all of these posts hardly hides it when there's an entire other thread raging over a texture thief being allowed to continue just because they're a mod.
Java is bulky, slow, hogs resources, passes out from exhaustion, and although it was big in the 90's is now typically only found on poorly designed websites. Much like Harry Knowles. So any time Minecraft crashes, blame Java.

Good luck - it doesn't exist. The rule I quoted is right in Piratebay's post at the top of this and every other section of the forum.
Aretists shouldn't have to police other threads to see if their work has been misappropriated. That's the job of the moderators, and if they can't, or won't, or worst of all are turning a blind eye, they need to be replaced with ones who will.
This favoritism is disgusting, no matter how much you pretend that you are the innocent and injured party.

If they ask for permission, it's fine. But this guy didn't ask for permission, he hasn't even credited everyone. The only reason why he's even allowed to something that is -obviously- wrong is because he's a mod.
We have too many texture thieves and the like flooding these forums with what they claim is their own pack as it is, but at least we should do away with the ones that can't even ask first.
Hopefully the stickied solution remix thread will get listened to and we can at least move the legit ones to their own section, but something like this doesn't even belong to be saved there. It should be taken down until the pack's "creator" understands what "don't use other artist's creations without permission" means.
