Agreed, this is possibly the biggest turn-down for anyone who's thinking of using your texture pack. Bamboo with foliage looks weird and the actual block doesn't resembe 'wood' at all.
You do know that bamboo has foliage right? And the wood plank texture I have was based of treated bamboo flooring.
I'll try the birch but I'm just trying to say that there is nothing wrong with bamboo that has leaves. Just depends on the type of bamboo, some types grow in clumps which would look similar to what mine look like.
I've been fiddling with making a 16x16 version of this, seeing as I LOVE your cobble. I am using your pics but editing over them. Hope there's no problems.

Hi, i'm a scientist, from the NASA. I can make science, so I tell you as a pro, Minecraft is not laggy.
I'm not saying you SHOULD change them, but just consider it :tongue.gif: It's YOU'RE PACK, after all :wink.gif: Are you going to be playing around with items as well, or just the terrain? Anyway, this looks astonishing :wink.gif:
EDIT: Are you going to be releasing new terrain? With Iron blocks/Hellstone etc?

I already have the iron blocks that you create from ingots and I've done the red hellstone already.
Here I changed the logs but in my final version I'll probably have 2 options same with glass and maybe a few other things.
Birch doesn't tile well with splotches so I went for a good old Aussie common tree colour.
haha. I meant on first page, you got a terrain there. Might updating it a bit with the new blocks etc? :biggrin.gif:
Yeh I guess I should...
I'm also overwriting my hosted terrain.png so if people don't refresh they see the old version! =/
Also another pic! I think this wood blends really well with my theme which is goooood.
You're right. It does seem to fit in well. I was actually a little unsure about it, but now that I saw a proper screenshot, I really like it :smile.gif: Superb quality!
I updated some of the pictures in the first post..
I'm worried people won't be able to see the newer stuff unless they manually refresh everything.
Oh BTW I was thinking of eventually making my own textures for just about everything you can in this game.
We will just have to see if I ever get it all done.
I'm happy with the work I managed to do on this today, A lot better then the past few days of being slack.
Those Iron/Gold blocks... are my favorite blocks of that type. Really. I'd be really glad if you could make items as well, and maybe som other extra stuff, boat, cart etc.
I usually hate realistic packs, but I must say, this is amazing. The problem most realistic packs is that it just looks really awkward, but you've done a great job of making the textures fit the Minecraft style.

All in good time my friend.
As for the chests.... even though they don't match the wood I'm probably going to keep them as bamboo..

I felt the same way too. The only reason I chose a higher resolution is because I'm not a good at pixel art.
@Ilsyde
I will be experimenting with the cracks. I'm just using the default ones that came with the pack I used as template (I wasn't aware there were actual templates so I used a pack instead).
I've posted version 2.0 of Sanguine. I don't know if you want to bother replacing the textures that remain here from v.1.x or not, but some, such as the mine cart tracks, aren't embarrassingly bad any more. And the original textures have all been modified now. http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=77265 warning: My 2.0 crops have a bug in them and this version will probably get bumped to 2.1 before tomorrow
I personally love your trees now. I had reservations about the bundled bamboo, but these are great! Nice job on the iron and gold blocks. Very in-theme and unique.

If you'd like, there are always two versions of the terrain.png in Sanguine. One with the progress meter and one with the original cracking texture.
@Ketic go back to the first post and press F5 to reveal the latest version. Then right-click on the image and save the file terrain.png to your desktop or somewhere else. Use this to install it: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=46173
Actually Ketic you'll need to run that and choose 128 as the size and patch your client then manually open the minecraft.jar file with winrar or some such tool and drag aza's terrain.png you downloaded into winrar's window and click OK then close winrar. The HD patcher won't put the texture in there for you unless it's packaged in a zip file ( or .rar? )
Ilsyde,
I'm totally fine with people using and modifying my textures. I just ask that they include a credit note and link to the Sanguine 2.0 thread. You'll have to ask Aza about his though. It gets really complicated when compilations of compilations of compilations start appearing.
Yeh I haven't done any snow related stuff yet.

I think it looks pretty kewl.. it also aligns with the cracks on my dirt and stone textures.
