I know this is asking for a lot, but a change log or Work Progress in the Original Post would be awesome, so we could know what's done and where you are at with completing this.

lol, just be glad Aza is doing the standard blocks. I'd kill to see a decent items.png out of a high quality pack. Everything past 32x tends to look like crap (and usually share damn near all the same misa recycled garbage). I'm truthfully not into the whole "photorealism" thing when the game is clearly not an fps or even attempting to be realistic in any manner with its graphics. So a more fitting to the game items.png would be nice, but just having the terrain.png finished is more than plenty to ask out of anyone doing anything more than 64x.
I dropped the .zip file in the texture pack folder but when I load the game and change the texture it becomes very grainy. It's also has some glitches like two small little fire images on the stones. What have I done wrong?
I have to say, your lava gets worse and worse. It is getting more yellow-ish every update. The latest version could easily be a bird's eye view on a corn field. This is for me more what lava should look like: http://diffusibility.com/diffusibility-pic/lava-3.jpg Of course with bright spots, but I imagine lava being stuck in a cavern to be more dark, cooled down, with some black spots and red areas where the lava is cooling down, and not bright yellow at the surface as if it just emerged out of a volcano.
Please reconsider your design-choice here.
Much love.
Try implementing lava like that into my texture pack and still have it compliment all the other textures around it.
It tiles badly and sticks out horribly.
My design choices aren't aiming for realism but uniformity in textures and colouring. With a nice contrast between all blocks.
I like your pack and have used it for months, so please take this as friendly constructive criticism. In my opinion, you've merged the textures too much in that now they are too similar, specifically dirt and the woods. Yes, they blend better than they used to (as you mention earlier that you wanted), but there's a certain bland uniformity to everything now. I know it's a fine line between too similar and not matching, but my vote is on the side of "please make textures more varied again". I'd also agree with the poster above re the lava - yellow looks weird to me in this context. Wools are fantastic, as are books, glass and many other textures.
I want to use this pack in my new adventure gameplay videos and i can't without that, because it's a little lame to appear the default boat/chest/minecart in the middle of this beautiful pack ^^
I'll try and get atleast the boat done tomorrow. Right now I'm off to bed.
Love these changes. Beyond the similarity between some of the blocks (stones, dirts, etc) that I specified above, can we get a slightly more obvious icon change for the slot that you've got selected in the bar? I can barely see it currently.
edit: downloaded the pack a couple of times over last hour, get an error:
"unsupported compression method for 'item\largechest.png' which results in a default image being used for doublechests ingame. I've tried redownloading the pre2 minecraft.jar and repatching using the latest mcpatcher. Doesn't seem to be related to that, rather an actual problem with that specified png. I can't even view it when opening the pack in 7zip, and the other pngs are fine. As I said I tried redownloading the pack in case it was caused by a bad download. Problem on your end?

On the upside though I like the TNT better now than what it was before. :smile.gif:
Did you use the patcher?
Hmmmmm, what version of java are you using? ie. version 6.27 and either 32 bit or 64 bit?

P.S. Lava underground (magma) would be hotter. =/
Linky
Eugh... it doesn't support the resolution I'm using for my GUI and few other things...
great updates!
Thanks.
Is the idea that you can choose what textures you want from the old and new ones? I prefer the old pistons, so this would be great.
Old pistons? Aza has only made one piston texture that I'm aware of. The rest were fan-made to keep the pack alive at 1.7
-Cacti
-Changed vines a bit
-GUI tweaks
-Other Stuff?
They aren't done yet.
I'll try and get atleast the boat done tomorrow. Right now I'm off to bed.
