Animated or moving? I know how to animate lava/water but I haven't because its too much work.
To get moving water/lava
First one to the left is solid unmoving lava/water but the other 4 are the moving ones. They are different direction in game but when you make them point them all going down.

Custom font is just an edited default.png file which you can find in the font folder in the minecraft.jay
Get a grid up matching the existing text blocks because that's what you have to stay within for ever character. Everything align to the top of those boxes so if you want a character to be halfway you need to lower it in the box.
You can scale this image to any size you want too add as much detail as you like per character but the higher you make it the more chance it might not look good for people using lower resolutions because it will try to squeeze all that detail into a small area.
I basically scaled the image to 200% or 300% or something like that.. adjusted the grid to match up and started adding in character on a separate layer but using the original as a guide.

for the animated water/lava I would talk to Scuttles... his in the LB pack are amazing
I just wanted to let you know that I love your texture pack! I can't wait to see what you have in store for the future.
Speaking of what you have in store, have you thought about adding sun/moon textures? I think a bright, specular sun would be just the thing for an "Arid Pack".
I'll pipe in to give an opinion about the wood - it should be a little darker and have a shade of brown ... I'm in the upper sonoran desert these days and I was walking about looking at the colour of wood that's been in the sun for a while, we're in a mesquite "forest" and people who do woodwork just leave the stock out in the sun ... the bark will turn the colour you've given wood right now, but the inner wood (especially the darker banding) seem to manage to retain some coloration. Its slight, but its definitely a "wood" colour rather than a slate colour.
Other desert hardwoods display equivalent resilience (ironwood ...) from what I've been observing ...
Of course this begs the question of why freshly-cut wood planks must look they've been sun-baked for a few years ...
Oh and ... I like the door, but ... a tiny little window in it so I can see if there's a creeper right outside when I'm playing with the sound off would be great, cheers :biggrin.gif:
Getting these lines on a few of the items. Probably on most of them but only prominent on the larger items like tools and swords.
Couldn't find anything relating to it in forum and I tried deleting the .minecraft folder and patching everything again.

Theses are odd. Also, because it is on the unmodified tools I would if it could be a graphics card problem at your end. People might be able to help if you posted you GPU specs.
Well then sir, I now raise this question. Might you perchance be forgetting that not everyone on the internets is a native English speaker? :biggrin.gif:
Back on topic, I'll second the comments on the particles. Also, to add further detail-oriented nitpickery (no, that's probably not a word): wandering around dark caves, most ores stand out pretty good even with almost no light ... apart from gold, which I have to place a torch pretty close-by to see.

ATI 5850 running stock everything.
My temps are at 55c with the gpu usage at 68
so i doubt it's artifacts on the part of my gpu overheating. I haven't noticed it on any of the other much more demanding games I play.
Few more things. Been using the arid pack for a couple months now. This only started a few days ago. Thinking it might be 1.3.
And yes. I have been using the betterlighting mod with it.
Aza i highly recommend you do the that you do the tools in the item.png because having the default tools is kind of an eyesore when you are using this amazing texture pack. Keep up the good work.
I couldn't agree more with the photo-realistic just not looking up to par on the items side. I've been working my ass off making the tools and weapons for my pack to look good. Copy and paste was just never good enough for me. XD
The only reason I'm posting these is because I thought they also kind of fit into the arid pack as well. They are 256x256 at the moment as well, so keep that in mind.
except for the axe these are really nice!
the texture on the blade of the axe doesn't fit that well imo.
I'll keep that in mind for touch-ups. ^^
I'm not quite pleased with the stone tools. The ideas are great, but the follow through seems to be lacking. I'll work on improving them dramatically.
In the mean time, last part of the wooden set:
Sword
I'm not changing lava anytime soon because either way I make it someone says too orange, too yellow, too cheesy... And I'm happy with it.
Wood will stay the same colour because it compliments every other building material.
If I do icons it will be up to me when I decide to do it, atm it doesn't bother me.
On another note... here is a nice image I though the lighting system was working particularly good..
I've tried the new default font and have to say I'm really not feeling it. I think it would be a lot easier on the eyes if it were a solid colour - as it is, the stems really get lost with the white and grey. Overall just hard to read.
I've been using this pack for ages, and I installed the newest version, only to find that you added a different font. It's too hard to read! It's to the point where I've installed another pack. Please, Aza, revert to the default font?

Just a thought :-)

No, it does not. It raises a question (to you, I might add).
Explanation of what begging the question is.

Unmodded except for this texture pack.
