When I used the patcher it reverted my Minecraft to around alpha 1.2. How do I avoid this? It is an awesome texture pack, but if I am going to use it I want my leaf decay :/
Ahh.. nevermind. Turned out I was using an old version of the patcher. Works now!
Specular/Normal maps don't seem to have any effect at all on ice. I'm guessing this is due to the way ice is rendered differently than other blocks in the game for its translucency. Kinda a bummer. I dunno if anything can be done about this with GLSL or not, so I thought I'd throw it out there as an issue just in case.
I'm still having lots of fun with this last release though! Can't wait for dynamic light.
Hey Aza, just wanted to show a video preview of a quick and dirty heightmap I threw together for your texture pack, which I posted earlier over in the GLSL thread. I put extra emphasis on the cobblestone, brick, wood, and mossy stone since I felt those demonstrated the parallax mapping the best:
I'm certain your heightmaps will turn out better, and I can't wait to see the results with the specular stuff.
For those of you following this pack and the GLSL Shader thread, I've updated my terrain_nh.png, with most of the common textures re-done individually. I still have the crystalline ores (diamond, lapus), wools, and most of the man-made blocks (furnace, workbench, TNT, all the solid ore blocks, etc).
I´m sorry, but could you explain to me, how to install the GLSL Shader with phamwichs costum terrain-nh.png for Azas texture pack? I installed the plugin and so far I can see it works. Than I replaced the terrain-nh.png within the minecraft.jar. But there I get stuck. I read your posts, but Im not understanding what to do. Please help me. :smile.gif:
By the way:
The new trees are awsome. I really like them, but did I expect anything else? The sandstone adds a new decorative possibility for my buildings. :smile.gif: Thank you Aza for your work!
Are you going to make glowstone textures soon, Aza? The SMP server I normally play on loves the stuff because it is more "designer friendly" than torches, so instead of seeing glowstone, I see the nether blocks. I know I could just edit my pack, but I like your stuff better :smile.gif:

Borrow one you like from another 128x pack. I use aageons xzen pumpkins for my lightstone
BTW I'm slowly working on this but its hard when most the time my texture are spazzing out.
Here is a post I made in the GSLS thread so you can see a preview.

My first success!
EDIT: oops wrong image... refresh!
But believe me you don't want to see the other 2 sides of that block... graphic glitches are still going crazy on 3 of the 6 sides of every block.

Muahahahahahahah
Glad to see you got it working! Now I won't have to subject people to my sucky heightmap for that much longer. Plus, I have no idea how to do specular maps. :biggrin.gif:

Did you manage to fix the spazzing textures? That's what mine was doing when I tried it, and it'd be nice to fix it.

Nope it still does that on the tops and the 2 sides of the blocks you don't see in that picture.
So its very hard testing blocks that have different tops.

It's the exact same way for me Aza, but only in the 256x256... I have an ATI drver as well.
Ok well here are the music blocks and record player tops.
I'm thinking of still tweaking the record player tops but I'm happy with the music boxes. Just imagine the music boxes are a fusion of leather drums and subs with dust covers.

I think my computer may be incompatible with it but I'm still trying to fix it.

I have an ATI HD 4500/5100 series.
Sic 'em!
Firstly I haven't done music blocks yet, secondly your comment about the leave doesn't make sense.
Thirdly try to be more constructive.
I should be getting more done soon because I just finished the course I was doing and have a bit more spare time.
Hope you like it! I'm happy how the music block turned out!
