lol, okay, I think I figured out why it wasn't working for me last night. I think Chrome gave me a cached page when I hit the download link or something. It finally works, yaaay~ I'll be installing and using this today :biggrin.gif:
Jesus Christ, you have the most amazing screenshots. Did you build these or is this on a server? The one with all the buildings on the cliff walls of the valley is just as amazing, if not more so.
When I pried it open before, it looked like it was the terrain.png that was corrupt. Might be different now, though.
It should work now...
Also I've totally changed the planks/wood because the other colours would contrast to much with everything else...
Now the planks add another complimentary hue to the building side of the game.
I downloaded it myself and it worked so if it doesn't work for you try to save in a different location to the last.
How are the textures that dark? I like it more then the light textures i haven now? Is it some older version of the pack? Or how
That part of the map is in a jungle biome so the trees and grass get darker. Is that what you mean?
I've been lurking on these boards for quite a while and it was going to take something really special to make me post. Well that something special is your texture pack. It is visually stunning and your taste for what matches and blends together well is impeccable. I was just just thinking about how the red gum did not match with any of your other textures when you promptly decided to remove it. I really like the texture you chose for the wood now. You are ahead of the game!
The only gripes I have about your textures are with the trees and the ore, but if I recall you said the ore textures are not permanent. I really do hope you change them soon because it really takes away from mining. They just look so unnatural, like they don't even belong. Which is kind of the same problem I have with your trees. The leaf pattern itself looks very artificial. It almost looks like cloth or a green doily. They are fine at a distance, but when you get up close it just kills the beauty of the landscape for me.
I love the color you have chosen for the water. Deep blue never felt right to me, and this color hits the nail on the head. Do you think its possible to modify your water animation to look something like this:
This is actually from Dustyshouri's Dustycraft texture pack. I just love how it looks and I think if you were able to implement something like this in your own way, it would make a welcome addition to your pack.
Sorry that I couldn't bring you a compliment without also bringing any critiques, but rest assured that you've put together a brilliant texture pack. Please know that even if you don't agree with my critiques, that I will still use and support your pack!

Thanks for the great feedback!
I'll start working on ores and changing the leaves, one question though I'm rather fond of the non-fancy leaves do you think if I just made the fancy ones looks more natural that would be enough to make you happy? =D
Also about the water, I'm not sure how to animate still water but I can try messing around with the movies waters animation.
For everyone else:
High very highly recommend using the better grass mod that comes in this patcher: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=55700
It's make landscapes way more natural looking.
Be careful thought to check if its working with the current version of minecraft before you install it otherwise it will break your MC!

I just took a look at your fast leaves, which I never have looked at before, and they are actually better than the fancy because the pattern is far less distinctive. The transparency revealing the unnatural leaf pattern in the fancy leaves is it's downfall. I believe it's a problem when textures create patterns that stand out and draw your attention. Once you've noticed that pattern you can never stop seeing it. So, yes, if you could make the fancy leaves more natural and hide any semblance of a pattern you will have succeeded immensely in my eyes. Thank you so much for considering my critique.
I actually just installed BetterGrass this afternoon and its amazing how such a simple mod makes a huge difference. It does in fact work and I have had no problems with it whatsoever. I also highly recommend enabling the Abient Occlusion module as well. It gives the landscape more realistic shadowing and takes Minecraft up to a whole new level.

Oh yes I always have it enabled I'm only suggesting to people using this pack that it just looks totally different with the better grass. The AO is optional.
Also I updated my ores and leaves so you can check them out!
Ores a still semi temporary now, I have to fix diamond/redstone and possibly gold.
Then I just have to make them look a bit different to eachother.
Your leaves just improved by leaps and bounds in my eyes. A tad bit grainy, but a huge improvement! The ores look better, but the way they look encased in the stone block is weird to me. The way it currently looks it gives the impression of a bunch of mini-veins. Perhaps you should try making it so that the ore tiles well with the surrounding ore so that it looks like its one seamless vein.
If you don't mind, do you think you could put the link you update on the opening post (http://www.aza-industries.net/AzasAridTexPack.zip)? I have to keep going to page 17 to download your latest version.
I must give you major props though! I just thought I'd try posting and putting my ideas out there and I didn't really think I'd get this much action from you. Thank you so much for caring about the people who use your textures. I only hope that my ideas are helping make the pack enjoyable for you as well.

PS: MCPatcher has been updated for 1.2.6!
Looks amazing!
EDIT: I might borrow that image...
Thanks that does look amazing!
I try to make the majority of people happy. And if I think its a good idea I'll try to implement it.
See that's how minecraft should look with any texture pack! notch should make better grass official. It just makes more sense.
Oh and don't worry I'll fix those damn ores eventually!
EDIT: And I fixed that link on the first post! I thought I did that earlier when I changed my host!
These forums forget to save sometimes and you have to redo it. =/

I'd be happy if you borrowed it. But really, it's an example of your hard work, not mine.
Hey, I can't tell if this has been posted yet because search is acting funny... I hope you can help me out!
On my Mac, the patcher works great and everything looks lovely. It worked on my PC as well, except that after a minute or so of playing, the screen goes white and the console reports #### GL ERROR #### Out of memory.
I can see from my task manager that Java's using close to a gigabyte, but I have 4 gigs installed so I shouldn't be close to my physical RAM limit. Is there anyone else who's had this problem?
Thanks so much. And great work on the pack, it's incredible.

Sounds like something is wrong with either your Java or OpenGL installation.
I'm not sure what the ram limits are for either of those but I thought it was a bit higher then 1gig.
It could even be caused by a memory leak in MC but I haven't heard of one that does this.
It certainly looks great from the screenshots - sadly I cannot get it to work.
I've followed every one of your installation steps to the best of my ability, and when I load up Minecraft and log in, the normal Mojang logo shows, and then just stays there indefinitely.
I'm running this on a decent computer with Windows 7 and I've had no problems with HD texture packs before.
EDIT: Got it working! Sorry about being hasty. I made a fresh install of Minecraft and then reapplied the HD fix with your texture pack. Now it works like never before! :smile.gif:
Great pack man! It really only looks good with ambient occlusion running, but oh well. Cobblestone is the best texture I've ever seen of it. Only real complaint is that lava and trunks just don't seem... right. Keep up the great work!
