I've been holding off casting my vote until things stabilized in your pack, and it seems you're getting there.
Saw the new plants, etc and had to chime in. Really liking where you've taken them, makes much more sense and really fits better. Roses just seemed... unnecessary. These are making my "zen hideaway" all the nicer.
I happened upon this pack right around the same time I decided to try out some Arabian architecture, previous attempts at sand castles had failed miserably. I've also found these textures are great for building contemporary "eco" homes, of sorts. I'll have to toss up some screenshots when I'm ready.
I'm not normally one to criticize, however I really preferred your previous iron ore. When you see it in game, it really gives off a raw ferrous metal vibe, all rusted and tarnished. Other than that, having the option to insert from the previous series of smooth/cobble/brick is a great benefit, one that I often employ. I've also been keeping previous versions of your .png's for this reason as well.
So yeah... keep up the great work, which is truly appreciated. And best of luck with the remaining textures!

Thanks for all the compliments!
I'd like to see some of your buildings using my texture pack.
Also iron ore = silvery grey. It's not exposed to oxygen underground so when you cut away the rock covering the ore it won't be red/orange from rust.
But It doesn't really matter you can use whatever texture you prefer to play with!
I was hitting F5 but it still loaded up the same download link with the same old file inside :/
The iron door now looks out of place on my house. Just doesn't tie in with any existing stone-texture. Also, I agree with copperdomebodha that the workbench is a but plain (and possibly a bit dark, it looks like a block of clay from afar), maybe you need to add some tools to its side to make it more exciting.
Bookshelf needs to look more sturdy as well.
And that ladder is still giving me nightmares :biggrin.gif:
There, now I feel like an ungrateful *******. Your texture pack is the best by far imho so don't take the above as negative criticism but as a few ideas thrown into the pot.
Diamond ore and those flowers look adorable.
Yeh bookshelves and ladders Haven been done yet..
I'm going to fix the iron doors and add tools to the workbench.
EDIT: Ok I added tools and made it a bit light..
Also if your having problems with the zip not refreshing use the png on the main post instead.
Open it up in a new tab then refresh. It seems to work for me.
Wow that was fast. Those tools look so awesome. How... did you draw them pixel by pixel? 0_0
Have to test the new workbench, seems to be sooo much better now but its background might be still too dark (bit hard to differentiate those neat tools from the background color). Would be nice to hear other people's opinions about it.
Knew about the ladder not being looked at yet, just wanted to let it out.
I see you adjusted the iron for better visibility. Maybe you still need a bigger patch of ore inside that block, as pale white isn't an obvious color and has to be quite large.
Nah I borrowed them
>.>
<.<
They where full size pictures of tools and I edited them heavily.
I don't think I could draw tools though I'm not good at drawing small detailed objects.
I followed your installing instructions to the letter, but when minecraft is booted up after logging in, the screen is blank. Not sure what the problem is, but if you could enlighten me I'd greatly appreciate it!

Indeed... well, you make a strong point. I think if you put me in a real mine, I wouldn't know which way to dig, but I can follow your logic. On the flip side, for someone who prefers spelunking, they'll find iron exposed most of the time... :smile.gif: Mind you, I think both textures look good, so I'm splitting hairs at best...
As for the new workbench, really looks good. I may have to move the original texture onto something else, I use it pretty regularly as a decorative accent.

Well I've actually done some more research and it mostly depends on the type of mining your doing as to what the ore will end up looking like when you get it out in the open. So... I've got a new iron texture comming out with the next update.
Also would you like that workbench texture without the slab of marble on top of it?
If I had my choice, no... I love it with the marble on it. It's classy like that, I think. I like both workbench textures, the different colours are great. Personally, I think it'd be awesome to have both colour schemes, with or without tools, but I try not to make demands, just positive suggestions. I use mine without the tools so that I can hide workbenches anywhere as regular objects... End tables, kitchen counters, flooring, you name it.
I'm really liking the options with this pack, being able to swap in textures as required is great. I'm still quite excited to see what else you add. I chose to add a few things to my personal install that have finished things for me. I've added a realistic 128x128 sign texture and 128x128 artwork as well. I've also noticed at least one pack changed some of the default art to allow for interesting design concepts, such as a picture of a metal grate, works wonders for kitchens or industrial areas, alternative wall paneling, etc. However, changing the artwork would require choosing a specific culture or period, beyond just arid designs in general...
so yeah, keep up the awesome work... very excited to see what you come up with next.

Thanks! I'll try!
But what I meant was just texture by itself so you could do anything you want with it. Not as the workbench. I'm planning on having a misc category of textures where I can just put in random textures for people to use as they see fit.
Hmmm random extra textures, I like it... I like it a lot...
So those of us with image manipulation skills (but not creation... darn) can do anything we want with em, I like it.
I'll tag an extra question into my post, just for fun. The Diamond block has 3 textures, top, bottom, sides? which is... which? it's my least used block, and if I can put something cool there :smile.gif:

I'm pretty sure it goes from top to bottom going down.
Top
Side
Bottom...
I'm more skilled with image manipulation then creation.
Sure most of my textures I created from scratch but I mostly use tools to do it with very little paint brush involved unless I want lines and what not.
If its a texture I generally use a lot of layers of different noise generation and colour then overlay them all for detail.
I've been doing this sort of thing for years making image so I know how to get pretty much any texture I can think of without even touching the brush tools once.
that's about what I can do, less the good outcome :smile.gif:
neat artwork, i like it... especially the win7 logon screen.
now off to check the current terrain.png
edit: personal request... do you have a copy of the original smooth stone texture? it seems in my haste I've lost it... and by original I mean the one that's visible in your screenshots in the first post... if not, I'm sure I'll live, thanks!
YO wassup i tried ur texture pack and it basically BLOCKED me from playing mine craft. im not bitching but i and sending u this for an error report :tongue.gif: so dont take it the wrong way
I don't mind, its not an error. You sort of have to read the instructions...
Its a HD texture pack therefore it needs the HD texture fix to work...
still looking for the original smoothstone texture... if anyone's got it, I'd love to have it back...
looks like the smooth stone in the 1st post preview images :smile.gif:
- Done both flowers
- Done 1 mushroom (more like a berry now)
- Done Iron ore
- Done reeds
EDIT: Oh yeh:
-Done diamond ore
Yeh yeh I did all the plants except 1 mushroom.. I was bored of doing plants ok! I'll get to it eventually!

That is the Most realistic texture pack i've ever seen.
