I don't think this pack works with the newest (nov 10th) update, I've tried and tried and i crash after the mojang screen. If anyone can help...please reply!
And this texture pack works, bout you need to download amd use the latest HD patcher (link above, on Xevil's post).
Aza, thanks for updating the reeds. Will be nice to see those bamboo stems again ;D I see you also adjusted the leaves a bit.
Yeh though I still need to tweak the reads there a bit ugly at the moment!
I'm also going to make dirt tile better. And start working on new ores.
I changed the leaves to make them slightly less transparent so you don't see lots of tree trunks sticking out when you look at a forest from above.
I've been doing a lot of little tweaks and fixes
Oh and this is for everyone!
You need to install the biome colour triangles manually otherwise grass and trees will look bad! Notch hasn't made them work yet as a texture pack so just put them in your mincraft.jar/misc folder!
4) open C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar using WinRAR and leave the window open
(if you can't locate the Roaming folder under AppData, press WIN+R (Windows button + R) then type %appdata% and hit ENTER)
5) open AzasAridTexPack.zip using WinRAR, then drag&drop its content into the window you left open in the previous step (minecraft.jar)
Hi, quick question, when I'm playing I press the F3 button to check out the FPS and Its between 65 and 120 but as soon as I let go of the F3 button it goes down to 1 or 2, so I can only play smoothly when I've got the button pressed, any idea why?
None at all =D
I've never heard of that problem before... is it only with this texture pack?
have you tried other texture packs while still using the patcher? (eliminate my pack as cause)
EDIT: I re-did everything, deleted .minecraft, redownloaded it, then put the things in. Whenever I run Minecraft, I get the Mojang Specifications logo and then it crashes with this error:
Minecraft has crashed!

Updated the instructions I've written a couple of days ago. Include it in your first post if you'd like.
I'm aware that practically, you could just browse to the .zip file and feed that into mcpatcher so it automatically sets the tile size and copies the terrain.png into minecraft.jar but you still need to move the rest of the files manually - especially true if there are more of them - so you're still stuck with using WinRAR.
4) open C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar using WinRAR and leave the window open
(if you can't locate the Roaming folder under AppData, press WIN+R (Windows button + R) then type %appdata% and hit ENTER)

@Miner No. 4678, that's weird. Have a look here: viewforum.php?f=17 or do a search for your problem. That's all the help we can offer I'm afraid.
@TheBritishEditor, try a step-by-step installation. First, delete the version file from your /minecraft folder. Then start the game so it can re-download all the files. See if it starts after that.
If it does, then download the mcpatcher and update the textures to 128x128 but don't use Aza's pack just yet!
See if the game starts.
Again, if it does then install Aza's texture pack. You'll see if the problem still persists.
@Aza, I see you changed the lava again. This is the third time now, stop it! :smile.gif: Are you sure the latest version is the best? You've taken out all the dark bits.
Also, did you revert the leaves back to where they were? I thought you wanted to make canopies more dense so their trunks won't show.
Lava is so hard to make it look good! Did you prefer the dark bit? it sort of stood out on above land lava flows..
And the trees where an accident, that happens every now and then with my GIMP editing because there are so many layers to keep track of.
New changes:
-Leaves are more splotchy in both fancy and fast mode, less noticeable texture repetition.
-Sand no longer has borders.
-Made my own gravel texture.
Yes I liked the old lava, this is just too yellow. The first one might've been the best though, because of its orange color.
Please include a changelog with every update, it makes my life easier as well :smile.gif:
Downloaded the pack but looks like you still have the old file uploaded.
Nah I got the latest uploaded but the current system is pain in the ass because there is no way to make automatic checks for newer versions so anything that people have cached will be out of date...
=/ Maybe I should post a big huge F5 after every update! =P
BTW I upload both the terrain.png and AzasAridTexPack.zip file when I make changes.
See if you click on this image and open it in a new tab it will display an old version till you hit F5
Your texture pack grows more beautiful with every update. I like the changes to the tree leaves, and the new bamboo (but miss the green shoots/leaves from the old bamboo).
Speaking of flora, now that I spent some time using your pack, once you complete all the pieces, could you maybe make some alternate flowers. The present ones are very well done, but look a little awkward (in my world). Kind of isolated/lonely.
In my old packs, I preferred to use the flowers with several blossoms and bushy leaves, as they seemed to better meld into the landscape. I'd love to see your take on any of these:
And maybe a (desert) bush of sorts. I always keep Amanita muscaria ;p, but replaced the brown mushroom with the fern from Glimmar's Steampunk pack. They need to be placed in the shade of a tree, but even with this hindrance, make for nicer landscapes.
I like both of those pictures! I haven't actually done the flowers yet their still someone else. But I really like the 2nd picture because those look really easy to make because they grow up mostly!

Aza, Why don't you version your files? If you did then everyone would always see the latest version because the new versioned filesname would cause a refresh. It's not so hard for users to rename them, or you could have a separate directory for the display images for the web and a single /blah/blah/download/terrain.png path for the current version that you leave linked as the download. Then it'd be easy to link to your new terrain_1.2.3.png for the thread and replace the /blah/blah/download/terrain.png with it at the same time. Everyone sees the new file and the download link never changes.
On a side note, I'd love it if you'd check out my newest release and give me your feedback. You've got a critical eye and good taste.
Did you change your windows? Have I missed those little corners all this time or are they new?

Yeh I'll work something out like that..
I'll go take a look at your stuff too.
Oh and the windows I sort of accidentally made the simple windows and decorative windows overlay each other... so now they are combined lol.
But it doesn't look to bad so I'll keep it there for now.
Hey man I'm really liking the textures, the doors look nice, but I liked the old stone textures, clean and cobble, maybe you can revert to them.
Which texture specifically? Cobble or smooth stone? If its cobble the old one is still there but you have to edit it yourself. There are a few options of stone, cobble and brick already!
Also I'm doing flowers now! =D

Oops I forget I should update the terrain.png (not in zip) so people can see it easily.
Dirt just has no borders now so it tiles. It use to have borders.
No cobblestone was purpose drawn that way. I might fix the sand though, I didn't bother when I changed the sands colour to remove the border it had.
Thanks! I'll put that in my first post.. so many people asking how to get it working lol.

HELP!
Ah thank you! I've been trying everything you guys have been saying to do, but this finally worked! Thanks!
Lava is so hard to make it look good! Did you prefer the dark bit? it sort of stood out on above land lava flows..
