Do you think you could change the gravel and diamond block textures? Those are the main ones I have issue with. THe gravel looks 'too' photorealistic and doesn't fit in at all, and the diamond block is just queer.
No more queer than taking 9 diamond and squeezing them into a cube is! And it makes a fantastic ( as in an object of fantasy ) decorative object. Have you placed it in-game? I really can't comprehend the original teal cube of ugly. Of course, to each his own!
That gravel does suck though. Not for the realism imo, but simply for being ugly gravel.

Huge diamond in the room? Naaaah - it supposed to ultra rare, so decoration is supposed to be ultra small. As in - some silver/gold/obsidian frame and small diamond buds/cracks inside, maybe even some pattern. Obsidian actually looks better now, but i still think it supposed to be more purpleish/blueish, possible smoother as well.

The edges will still look stupid but notch will probably fix that in the future so meh
Edit: All done! refresh main page for new biome texture triangles!
download and select this file http://users.tpg.com.au/bluecube/AzasAridTexPack.zip with the patcher
I deleted my bin folder then started from scratch. With the newest patcher I select my zipped texture pack and then it worked.
Idk how else to make it work.
<edit>: it just downloaded the bin file again
delete bin folder > Start mincraft > After you get to main screen close mincraft > run patcher >
Tick texture pack box and find that zip with my texture pack in it. Then click patch > close patcher when done and run mincraft
