Ok I fixed all those errors (all the ones I could find).
And I also have a new obsidian that isn't borrowed from someone else!
Sorry the photo is above ground.. would you believe I have no saves at the moment that have mines going down to obsidian blocks? its sad really...
I like it, but it does not look natural. Better than the one you borrowed though.

Its actually cooled lava so.... it should look real!
It has similar grain lines as real obsidian the only difference is the colour is a bit different. I didn't want to make it to dark because its hard to add detail to really dark textures without making it look bad.
Yep, the new obsidian is much more detailed and easier on the eyes.
Have you changed the snowy dirt and the half-tile textures? They look different compared to what I have. Were these changes intentional?
Sorry to be the one who brings this up again but the cactus shares a line of pixels with the snowy dirt
Yeh I do a few tweaks here and there sometimes, if you compared some of my original textures to the newer versions you would see a lot of subtle changes that I've made. Most the time I try to make it look better but sometimes it hard to judge whats better out of two options.
I'll fix that snowy dirt line now!

Aza,
I like your new obsidian when I look at it in the terrain.png, but when tiled like this image I actually can't understand what is going on. It looks like it's being sucked into a black hole. That dropped sand actually looks like a full size block 10 meters away down a pit of obsidian. Not sure about this one.
Can I make a non-visual suggestion too? Grab the 128 template from my sig and drop your textures into it. It's all pre-masked and the masks are unlinked so you can avoid any future issues with tile boundaries.
And one other suggestion. Make a new music box. The one you're using is just hideous. I can say that without any reservation since it's mine. Even my newer version of it sucks, just less than this one.

Yeah it looks that way when you see all those beautiful Arid textures in that terrain file, but you've got 48 to go!

1. Oh noes black hole of doom! what has science done!!!!!
Edit: It tiles pretty well though!
2. The reason I keep getting lines over the side is because in gimp when I rotate stuff 90 degrees is doesn't seem to keep it the same size and adds an extra line which I forget to delete. I also accidentally drag stuff a bit sometimes when selecting layers.
3. Music box will come eventually! At the moment I got a few ideas about the out of place pumpkins.
I'll probably be tweaking these a bit but here is what I got so far!
EDIT: Ok peoples I have a task for you! I want structured criticism, everyone find one thing they don't like most about this texture pack and tell me all about it!
I look forward to your critic!
Pumpkins turned into a... beehive inside a tree trunk thing? While I appreciate this unique approach, people refer to pumpkins as pumpkins and this will cause so much confusion. Not only in multiplayer but also in singleplayer.
Still, I kinda like it.
OK, one thing I don't like... one thing I don't like... hmm... yes, well... I really hate the fact that I can't differentiate sand from dirt in my inventory. Sometimes I try to smelt dirt and place sand to plant a tree on.
lol, I'll see if I can make sand and dirt contrast more without changing it too much. Maybe bleach the sand to make it more tropical.
The beehive is supposed to be a mettle grate.. sorta like you hollowed out the rotting stump and made it into a lantern. I'll try a few different grates and see which one turns out best!
But I really didn't like the idea of random pumpkins lying around so its more of a personal change for me, even though it was Halloween themed it doesn't make me want to keep it anymore, we don't celebrate Halloween over here and pumpkins are only seen in a grocery store! (or a veggie garden... rarely)
EDIT: Or on my plate dammit! =P
The only thing I don't like and that made me go back to 32x32 is the smooth stone. I use it extensively (as much as cobblestone), and on large buildings and from a distance, and this is just my own very subjective opinion, it gives buildings busy and dirty look. It is unsettling, unlike the rest of your pack which breathes elegance and lightness.
I would love to see how it would look with a slightly simpler pattern and some mellow reds/earthly tones (instead of what seem to be greens to my untrained eye).
(And, perhaps, slightly larger bricks, with an earthly/reddish hued variant.)
Couple of picture that will better illustrate what I have in mind:
I understand this might not be feasible with the direction you are taking your pack in, but might capture some of the interplay between the stone and the sun I associate with 'arid'.

At any rate, stellar pack!
Hmmmmmmm good Idea... I actually like that... I'll make some different bricks, cobblestone and smooth stone after I get some lunch..
I freaking LOVE this texture pack Aza, and that's just judging from the screenshots.
THe problem is that I cant get it to work. I go to the mcpatcher and browse texture pack to choose the terrain.png but it never shows up. its only asking for .jar files?
How can I make this pack work?

Well... I've added a few different option for smooth stone but none of them really has a red hue. I tried for a while to get some red into it but it never textured well and clashed with every other texture..
So there are 3 smooth stones to choose from and 2 cobblestones!
The new cobblestone is supposed to be a sort of plastered/sandstone texture that is seen on castles in dry regions.
Sort of weathered.
Anyone I swapped out the old textures for the new ones but if you preferred the old you can change it back yourself.
I will post a preview image of them all later today so you don't have to try them all yourself.
I'll probably be tweaking these a bit but here is what I got so far!

Pumpkin suggestion: Something similar to or based on your window treatment on top of some kind of stained glass / amber / mica to create the lantern. And they don't have to be full block width you know. They have to be 1M tall but they could be narrower.
I don't normally critique other's work, but if you pressed me I'd say that I feel like
the diamond ore is just out of place and a bit hard to make out. I had to look the block up to see what it was supposed to be.
The wood door doesn't need a stone frame IMO, and it's wrought iron is too faded to look believable.
The iron door needs more framing iron.
Yeh I got to fix up all the ores still.
I might try that for the pumpkin.
Also.... I added another cobblestone and made the default the new one.
Its more textured then the other one and it tiles with a stepped pattern.
I'm still messing around with stone and cobble so bear with me.
Edit: Oh and here's a nice picture of my explorations.
Ok.. well I removed the plain plastery cobblestone and replaced it with this rather snazzy looking stuff...
So now your choices are
1. Big slablike/tileish/cubes of stony goodness.
2. Regular stone blocks in typical brick layout.
2. Zig Zag step textured stone....
And I also have a new obsidian that isn't borrowed from someone else!

Also FYI the trees I made are supposed to be something similar to an Australian Eucalyptus tree.
EDIT: Fixed tree top/bottom to contrast better as a building material, it also tiles pretty well at the edges

You made it look better than I could even imagine.
And that picture of your exploration is the nicest landscape I have seen in Minecraft so far.
