Glimmer, great work on the latest Steampunk extras bundle.zip - fine work my friend (and of course to all those who helped)
@ Gestankfaust
So many squids, which one to choose!
...talking of which, I havn't come accross a single one yet, gutted. Might have to go hunting for one tonight, with the Diving Helm! All that will be missing is a steampunk spear gun to take with me into the depths
Likling the carpet styles to replace the cloth colours > could be great
Ha ha! Thanks, mate. :smile.gif:
If it's any consolation, I haven't seen a birch tree, or any other type of new tree yet! I've got to walk/sail for miles before I get to any new chunks of land. I know I could just start a new world, but I'm so attched to this one and I don't want to cheat! Lol!
[edit] Just thought, I could simply plant a load of saplings and hope for the best, but travel is probably still the quickest option.
I think I'm starting with the mobs first this time for my pack. But that squid is all yours. Or for anyone doing a James Bond/Austin Powers theme that's needs a Robo Squid

"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to...."
@ hauer: I'll put your pic up there then, great stuff. Yes it is somewhat congested up there. I do try to swap pics around and try to drop a pic (usually one of mine) for every new one. However, it does need tidying up, especially as I want to display all the extra textures I have up there for folks topic and choose. Bear with me on that one 'cos I hate housekeeping!
@ Comrade Temuzu: Ha ha! Your steampunk mobs are excellent. That'll be nice at the top and they can go in the pack next time, either as the main offering or as alternatives. Lovely stuff and thanks from everyone. :smile.gif: I just wish I'd had the idea to cut up my textures like that for the mobs at the beginning when everyone was clammering for new mobs!
I think that's the only steampunk skeleton we have at the moment though. :smile.gif:
@ chrisman01: Why your vids at the top? Because they're rather epic to say the least, that's why! :smile.gif: And don't worry Hauer's airship and base are going up there too and work by others, just haven't had time yet to shuffle things around yet. Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with.
Have you managed to upgrade to the latest textures yet? That furnace top was sorted out by friday night (UK) with a new 'terrain.png' file, but the zip pack came out last night with all the other stuff too. I'm looking forward to the creation of some great railway networks with the new Victorian looking minecart. You might find some of the new paintings useful for your architectural fancies. A bit fiddly without the Punch a Pic mod and lacking in great variety without the MorePaintings mod. I think Tiger4Ruler is still looking into this though.
@ Gestankfaust: You are more than generous, as always, mate. That's one amazing beasty and so believable as a robotic drone squid. Kind of reminds me of the creatures in the 2nd Matrix movie. Many, many thanks!
@ User, and MrTificition: Have fun making something epic, guys. many thanks for your support! :smile.gif:
Shortly after I uploaded the tour, I discovered the pack had been updated, lol ^.^'
I currently have a couple things planned, a skydock for the zeppelin, and some sort of forge for the fortress, since there's quite a bit of empty space inside the walls...
Screw it, I'm adding so much to this one area, I might as well build a town or city. A city that I rule over from my Fortress of Doom... muahahaha...

I painted a creeper on my car and it blew up. True story.

Oh, I envy your freedom to build, mate! Lol!
I'm just about to try and gather all the dyes and new blocks, then I can see if my new textures have worked out ok. Most of them were done without any reference to seeing them in game, which is what I normally get the chance to do. Nothing works better than just walking round a new block, trying it out under different conditions to see if I can improve on it for the next pack. So my apologies now for anything that looks slightly off, it was a rush on friday to get things out as fast as possible.
Anyway, as mentioned previously, I end up having to walk further each Notch update to find new stuff, as I refuse to leave my one and only world, but that's probably the same in yours, by the looks. It's the only way to build an empire though...muahahaha!
Because there is so much stuff for this pack doing something like painterly does with the custom packs would be a good idea. I am not sure how difficult it would be to make a page like that but I think it would work well to help people take the TON of different textures people have made for the pack and combine them.

I agree with you, I'd love an arrangement like that, but know nothing about coding, etc.
However, I'm also looking for the simplest way of being able to edit and display things myself at the top and wouldn't want to get too bogged down with updating a complicated (from mine, not the user's point of view, Lol! :Notch:) front end. Neither do I want to start another thread, if I can at all help it, as I feel stretched wafer thin already! Aaah! :SSSS:.
I would hope in the interim, simplifying it into 3 or 4 sheets of mob, item, terrain and paintings would tidy up the top (would also be easily downloadable) and I might be able to cope with that! Lol! ...It would be nice to have it both ways though, for me and the user. Folks are just going to have to learn to do simple cut and paste jobs...now that's going to make me popular!
Aaargh. I love folk to have more choice, but I just want to be able to spend more time on the art! A bit of a quandry.
I patched it to my minecraft using the hd texture patcher mentioned in the OP. However, some raw wood blocks have just plain purple textures on the side, but regular textures on the top. The normal wood and purple wood also count as separate blocks in the inventory, but are both still called Wood and, when crafted, make regular wood planks. Along with this, the creeper has his regular texture. I haven't run into a spider yet, but i assume it has it's regular textures. I have arachnophobia, so the robotic spiders are a big pro for this hack imo. But, if they aren't there, well... :tongue.gif:

Have you downloaded the latest version of my pack, mate. It's now v1.7 (updated yesterday evening), If you downloaded earlier than that, you've probably got the 1.6 version. Here's the latest pack:
Check the first page again for updated instructions too! Hope that sorts things out for you. Also as the instructions on page one state, you'll be better downloading a fresh version of Minecraft just incase. Make sure you backup your favourite world 'save' files before deleting your Minecraft 'bin' file.
@All: Amazing contributions, never a bore to read up this thread! ^^
@Glimmar: I will consider doing a video tutorial like of cut'n pasting once I am more familiar with Paint.net.
To the ppl trying to resize, from a pixelart tutorial I read that choosing "Nearest Neighbour" instead of a "Biliniar" resizeing is advised with pixelart, cause it does not blur as much..sorry no expert on it. I usually choose what looks better.
@Bloodjack: In case it did not come clear over myself and Glimmar, really would appreciate if you transform the rest of you gui work (as the inventory already) to the packs size of 32x32, would be really great mate!
Considering gears code etc. great find!! but it is hard to find code snippets again, as the xtreme paintings mod I already searched for it and did not find it yet, I will check again the makers of the Coderpack which also maintain a google spreadsheet of the classes might be of help or Maudib. :wink.gif:
Yesterday Notch tweeted a livestream link on his twitter and here is what he personally said with his voice, furnishing will come, meaner sea creatures are planned 'like a mean shark', so far know to me he is the only game-deveoper who active plays and interacts with his customers, he was unaware of xau' s patcher and also said he tries not to look at the modding stuff created by the community, to still develop 'his' game and that he unoffical supports 32x2 packs.
Lol I still also have not seen one of the new trees and mossy cobblestone is still hiding from me as does lapsuli ores.
By the way to confirm a hunch I have post witch world is your main world you play on, my guess would be a majority is on World 3....
Correct hunch, mate. It is indeed my world 3, as seen on the first page. It's hardly progressed since before Christmas with all the texturing, etc., which is a source of great sadness! I'm having a run around tonight for an hour, after this post. When I think I only embarked on changing the textures because I wanted to improve the look of my world 3 and now it's sadly neglected, and it's nothing to do with getting bored with it!
Also it would be excellent if you could do a video tutorial for cut'n & past'n. I'm not familiar with Paint.net, but I imagine it may be a little easier to use than Gimp (which is pretty full featured). :smile.gif:
I've been seeing all these balloons and zeppelins in this thread, figured I'd make my own giant doob, er, zeppelin. I needed a new base anyway, a forest fire took out the entire biome my last one was in.
Stone was the choice because the texture looks awesome for doped cotton and I didn't want a Hindenburg repeat from a freak fireplace accident, but if you leave it hollow the creepers show up. The inside is pretty well lit, much to my chagrin. It's a shade over 150m in length.

a reference for those who have not seen the custom painterly pack.

A crane made out of the glass girder blocks always lightens up a construction project, and you can't have a mine without minecarts!
