I got impatient and coloured the wool. Here it is, if anyone wants to patch it into their terrain file.
That's excellent, Seraphagist. I'll use that for now and it will allow me to concentrate on the other textures that need doing. I may tweek them a little later, but you've just saved me a lot of time and stayed true to my original cloth texture! Thanks mate.
All those having graphical problems at the moment, just be aware that Notch has done a major update and added many new textures, all of which need replacing for Glimmar's Steampunk. Without checking, I'm assuming xau's patcher still needs to be updated...so fire and water in strange places will not be fixed until a new version of the MC Patcher comes out!
Bearing in mind I spent 5 hours in casualty (ER) last night with my eldest son and got 90 minutes sleep before packing the younger one's off to school, I may be a little slower than even my usual slow version of myself! However, if I can keep myself awake, I should have a temporary completed terrain.png today sometime. :smile.gif:
Well, this is unfortunate. After today's update I jumped on in and saw that the top of my furnaces was nothing but a purple square. I tried re-patching the texture pack (thinking that it might be a re-assignment issue) and it didn't work. Could this be a problem with the new textures that Notch put in? If that's the case, how would I go about fixing it?
Edit: Tried to attach a picture, but it said that the attachment quota for this thread was maxed. Tried it twice.
In the previous textures the top of the furnace was smooth stone. In the new pack you can edit the top seperately. Old texture packs won't have anything in this square so you'll get the purple placeholder.
Hey Glimmar as much as I appreciate your hard work and dedication to the pack, get some rest mate and stay healthy and all the best to your son must have been a ultra short night then.
Thanks, mate. The circumstances of having to go to 'casualty' were bizarre to say the least. He seems ok now and has gone off to college again, but I'm kind of buzzing now.
I never was a good one for daytime sleeping, but thanks for your concern. I shall crash out big time tonight when I've got something ready...and pic up the pieces next day! Lol.
Glimmar asked for some pictures of the new sandstone texture so here they are:
[snip for space]
hope it helps!
PS: get some rest, man!
Thanks, mate. :smile.gif: I will, but just want to get this terrain file to a state were I can say, "nearly finished!" then I'll have a nap. The pics are helpful, even low res like that. One of the biggest pains is jumping into the game all the time and having to hunt down the new items. All I needed was an idea and I've got it there.
it's a type of rock too. you need a pickaxe to mine it!
if you need anything else, just tell me and i'll try to find it! (a lot of work here too!)
So you can bake sand in the furnace, but also mine it in the landscape! Cool. :smile.gif: Thanks guys
How rare is Lapis lazuli on the scale of things and is it in clumps? (sorry, I know I could look all this up, but I just need to keep pacing myself with the new textures and talking about it helps...keeping me awake! )
You have to think logically about this. I, and others, can't really help you with such a limited post. I've just recently been swapping back and forth between Alpha and Beta Minecraft and each time xau's M C Patcher has had no problems in patching the texture pack. It is no different than any other 32x32 texture and should not be a problem. Many above have installed and patched the pack and if there was glaring problem, I'm sure it would have been reported by others in the thread above.
Try to follow the instructions on page 1 of this thread carefully (sorry there is so much to plow through up there) and xau's instructions for his M C Patcher, and use a clean install of Minecraft just incase. I don't wish to be condescending, but the best of us miss out on some glaringly obvious step from time to time!
If you still want to install the pack and you can't, then by all means ask again, but with a little more detail for us to go on. Best of luck, mate!
Thank you. I'm sorry for being ubrupt yesterday it's just because we have been flooding :sad.gif:

Nightmares torment me. I can no longer resist the call of the infinite. Their blows rain heavy. My wraithbone cracks. My sight in this world dims. I return to slumber. My soulstone, please take it. Save...the others

Oh man! That's certainly understandable! Hope you get everything back to some normality soon. :smile.gif:
So how does that isometric pic of the cake (on the terrain.png file) work in game?
I'll leave that till last. Then if I run out of time, I'll just use Notch's as place holders.
Thanks for the help again, folk!
The more I thought about it, the less that Isometric cake makes sense, since the same icon (with a slightly different shade of outline at the top) appears in the items.png so I really can't tell where is used when. All I know is, out of the four blocks of cake above the isometric cake is (from left-to-right) "Top, Sides, Inside (when a peice has been eating you can see the inside of the cake as it gets smaller), and bottom."
I think the Music Block will work really well, in the steampunk scheme of things, especially when controlled by redstone pipes and a series of horn shaped music boxes (as the texture currently stands). As someone has already said...Pipe Organ! Whose going to be the first to make a grand concert hall interior with giant pipe organ?
Just a mad thought as I slip into sleep deprived madness!
Any requests for the cake? I'm cooking it's textures now (contradicted my earlier order of work!). I'll stick to traditional recipes for now and think about a brass one later!

Thanks for giving me my next new idea. Also, I've got a idea for a bakery now.
*Jesus* : I might have to make a entire city some-day.
Hmmmm..... I just read a book ; set in a era where "Darwinists" are at war against the "Clankers". The Darwinists use "beasts" to control their ship, while Clanker, use Steampunk, There's some really beautiful artwork inside, that inspired me. Hang on, lemme see if I can get some.
The artwork inside the book is much more detailed. I'm using it for reference.
and I got a special delivery of squids right to my house ....kinda odd ^^ haha
and holy **** there are so many options now, I took the dispenser as a cannon for my boat to be...
Ha ha! Now I see what the isometric cake is for. Those squid look fantastic and I now think it was a really good choice seeing how they move...despite my wanting little fishes. Ingenious linking it all in with the dye making side of things and brilliant to have for steampunk too! Are they special mountain squid then?
I hope you'll like what I'm going to do for the dispensor! I take it you can't put tnt in it then! :biggrin.gif:
Just a nice Victorian cake to finish now and the dispensor, then a bit of testing (you guys can do the leg work though, my world is miles away from any new chunks!) and cleaning up of the alternatives on the terrain.png file...then upload, as is, followed by the pack over the weekend.
I had an idea, you could put some of the dyes in cans for added steampunkishness(You know with little colored labels?). I've always loved your texture pack, I've been checking this page ever since there was barely anything here.

Arrgh! I just posted about that a few pages ago. =) Beautifully artwork, but I'm wondering how the third book will turn out... Seems the author is taking the "Alliance = Technology" to its natural conclusion, with Japan being another Darwinist state. I would have pegged them as having Clanker technology, for some reason...
Oh! And for anyone who hasn't read Behemoth, turns out the Americans have a blend of both technologies, which was a nice touch given real world history.

Curse PremiumRight...working my way across the terrain sheet (sounds like a well known song)...I've finished the following:
Coloured cloth/wool (thanks for speeding that part up, Seraphagist!
New trees - log and foiliage
Sandstone
Lapis lazuli - block and ore

Dispensor
Mmm? Anything forgotten on there...time for a quick snack!
Thank you. I'm sorry for being ubrupt yesterday it's just because we have been flooding :sad.gif:

Yah, the Music Block is just the side of the Record Player on all sides of the block, nothing to change there.

Hmm. Interesting. I'd like to do that for my boat, but I don't think I can fit a 5-Clock in it.
