its a music block and i want you to use the jukebox texture for it! i like the speakers on the jukebox.
the speaker is the perfect texture for the music block.
and we will get cake!! and a water mob!!!
How does the music block work, then? I didn't see this mentioned on his blog. Does it allow us to attach our own sounds or music to it?
I'm not overly excited about the cake, but I am about the mob. Probably unlike most other folk though, I'd much rather the new water mob was just random friendly fish. As I normally play on peaceful, I'd find fish randomly swimming around more atmospheric than a monster type.
Oh well, perhaps I'll just have to come out of retirement and put on my old hunting gear again. Thaaar she blows!!
I think he's misunderstood: The post said that HandyMen were ripping out flooring and wiring in his forest, and installing new SPEAKERS.
Anyways, last post for the night before I go and decide how I should make the paddles and "utilize" the top section of the Paddle Boat. Everything of the main hull is finished, I just gotta "drop" her into the water.
http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/1756 ... 212848.png
A comparison with the S.S Glimmar Sail Version: Remeber the sail version could fit officer's quarters, kitchen, navigation, Glimmar's private quarters, 6 chests, a kitchen. The detailing inside the new S.S Glimmar will be fun indeed.

That's looking awesomely big, mate! The little paddle steamer is back again for a look too! Lol!
Do you know something we don't about Notch's new water mob? Is that why you're building such a big ship?
Oh no! Notch has made a dirty great Kraken!!! We'll all have to sail around in boats the size of yours. Now I know why you called the smaller of the two boats the 'S.S.Glimmar'...it's gonna be the first to be ripped apart while you sail away! Lol! Oh!...you named the second one SS glimmar too. That's ok then...I'll have a ticket for that one please, just show me the way to the kitchen!

Hahah, yeah, big Daft Punk fan. There are 3 "Glimmar" I'm building. The first one has been done, the second one is in progress, and the 3rd one is a little secret. Heheheh.
I'd hope Notch makes a Kraken. and maybe some Cannons. Then I'd just blast the damn monster to pieces. Anyways, the empty "hull" section of this is more than enough to fit 3 kitchens.
P.S I've just been to The Nether to collect some LightStone blocks. Proably the most beautiful sight in my life right here:
D95 is actually right on the fact that there is a music block, he said in his twitter a while ago that you would right to change the octave (two spots), and the tone would change depending on the block placed underneath.
Sorry for the late response, I just woke up.
Wow! I'm amazed by your generosity and the talent of yourself and the band. I'm currently reading H P Lovecraft. The compendium of his works, and if I had time I'd have loved to have done a texture pack based on that mythos.
Heya, I am working on Innsmouth at the moment, I have Church Street up to the river almost done.. Sooo much more to do. I was looking for a 1920's theme texture pack and found yours and it an awesome fit! :biggrin.gif: Going to do a youtube walkthrough when I am done. I added 2 paintings that together make a map of Innsmouth.
Awesome work! I love this pack, feels like this is how MC should be played. :biggrin.gif:

Many thanks, mate. There's a lot about the textures I'm not satisfied with yet and lots of alternatives to keep adding, but I appreciate the encouragement.
I'm so looking forward to seeing Innsmouth in Minecraft and honoured you've started it in my texture (although you might be finishing it in Gestankfaust's texture now! :biggrin.gif:). There's no doubt my texture pack has a dark enough quality to it. One might even say depressing. Lol!
I bet there'll be a lot of folks interested in your finished map, knowing the fanbase for that particular story and I can't wait to see any pics you might have. Ha ha, careful twilight shots I'd think would show it off best. or rather
Ooo! I like the sound of that map for a painting. The thing is I'm easily scared and would find it really creepy up on the wall in my world! I'd be constantly looking over my shoulder, even in peaceful. Infact I find peaceful strangely more haunting than normal, because everything feels deserted.

Got to agree with you on that one Glimmer entirely
Yay! I thought it was just me that liked things to look believable! If that's possible in a blocky world.

Haha! Good stuff! You'll have an enormous amount of visual inspiration and a huge fan base, and you'll appeal to everyone who has wanted a good horror pack. With your flair for making vids and creating atmosphere and your obvious artistic talent it will be in very safe hands. I'm just amazed no-one has done it yet!
Really looking forward to seeing what you come up with, mate. When you've any visuals and a thread I'll put a link to it at the top, 'cos I think anyone interested in Victorian/Edwardian through to 1930's steampunk, would also be attracted to a Cthulhu theme!

Ha ha! Howdy Tiger! Hope everything went well, mate!
Don't be daft, 'course you were missed! :biggrin.gif:
That moving paddle wheel and what it represents for all things gadgety is a cool thing, eh? Just a moving wheel that could be fixed to any block would be an awesome visual element!
Yeah...I thought it would so be a good brother to your pack. They so go together from different perspectives.
Had started it in 64x though. Should I stay 32x and we could make a CthulPunk variation?
Ooo!? Size? I hadn't thought about that. I sort of assumed you'd be doing it in 64x, but I like the idea of being a sister to Cthulhu. Hey! How come I'm the 'sister' all of a sudden? Lol!
You're welcome to use any of my textures you fancy if you decide on 32x32, 'cos I know you'll give me credit (Lol!), but only you can choose what size you'd be most comfortable with. You've got to think about all those lovely horror (oxymoron alert!) pics you'll have for inspiration and whether you'll get all the detail you want into 32x32. I chose 32x32 at the time because I felt it was the best for epic scale builds, but sometimes it can be very limiting up close.
But yeh, I think the two themes would share a very good bond for fans to move freely between and I'd be very willing to promote it anyway I could from my end and if you decided on 32x32 you could start with any of my textures, if you thought they were suitable. Both themes would definately promote each other!
Knowing how much time completing my own theme is taking up, I doubt I'd be able to help practically. My wife would kill me if I spend any more time on Minecraft! Lol!
[edit] I wonder if Tiger4Ruler might be interested in helping you out with some stuff?
Hey, I have an idea for a steampunk thingy that you guys could add. A propeller! :biggrin.gif: From what I've seen in steampunk themed picture, there is a lots of balloons too, and what makes the balloons filled with air? Propellers! Which spinns!
Here is a picture of what I had in mind:
[pic snipped to save space]
PS. I don't mean that this should have any special functions ingame, just to be an awesome detail thing to add to buildings, boats, airships etc.
Many thanks, EShredder! Well the thread is getting epic, but I'm under no illusions that many of my textures need more work!
I couldn't agree more! Like I just said to Tiger4Ruler, just having a rotating wheel element to freely attach to blocks would be mind-blowing for visually enhancing our buildings...whatever the idea for the build was, from machines through to boats and airships. If the rotating part was just a simple disc then it could be textured to represent anything from propellers to cogs, etc.
