wow reaper, awesome vid...btw how do you get the view to change so that you are looking at yourself? i always see the back of my head, but you got your character to look at the camera, how?
@hengehog: wow that is looking really badass... I have little experience on 'steampunking' a building like that, but my advice: do what *you* think looks good. look at other players maps, get inspiration, and make it happen. And dont try to work on the whole thing all at once: break it down, work on small chunks..it works out in the end when you can step back, look at the whole, and appreciate what you just did.

Actually, how can someone really dis-like steampunk? Dear muncher21, care to explain? I'm not trying to single you out, but I personally have trouble wrapping my head around the alternatives, at least when it comes to minecraft. Certainly there are a grand array of themes and styles of art, but what about an updated Victorian aesthetic is off-putting to some people?
And while I'm at it, why do some people hate to consider themselves villains? Not CSI multiple homicide sexual "villains", or even tragic back-story friend of the hero villains, but classic take over the world while cackling maniacally villains? I'm sure that the steampunk-loving and megalomania aspiring circles overlap somewhat, but who wouldn't love that kind of Blofeld-ian power to abuse... or sharks with frikkn' laser beams?

Defiantly a compliment. Like I said, the art and textures are extremely well done and look great.
I just don't tend to like steam punk themes, so I don't think I'll be using it.

i started working on using Risugami's ModLoader to handle adding the steamboat and in order to work this in with minecraft, i had to do a cleanup of whats been decompiled and run another decompile with the modloader classes inside the minecraft.jar...unfortunalty that cleanup bit deletes the source folders...which deleted the steamboat sources! <pause for fluttering hearts>
now someone up there must be smiling down at me, because my text editor was still open and had all 4 files still loaded...so very..VERY close call on that one =)

not quite there yet. just got it working with modloader. still working a bug, be patient, young padowan.
I don't know I've never gotten into steam punk.....
Oh and how did you do that boats? they might be my favorite part of this entire pack!

i think thats a mod thats going to include a number of custom vehicles that will be tacked on with the pack
