On another note, what did you use for the support columns in front of the house? It looks like a post from the fence, but there's nothing coming off of it.
That's exactly what it is. If you just place one fence, it will make a post, and if you put another on top, instead of next to it, it will simply put another on top. :]
*EDIT*
Sorry, I thought that was how it worked, but I tried it and it didn't. :\
Sorry for the false info. Dx
In a reply, the brickwork looks a bit too modern for the Victorian age, feel free to disagree, but instead a black brickwork, like this:
Something along these lines would be good I think, but if you are going to remove the awesome green torches, could you send me the files before because I love them.
I don't understand the point of not releasing something like this. Unless you're planning on selling it, why not just release what is done and update it as needed?
Never understood why so many people here make mods only to not release them until they are completely finished, and then release them for free......
Ignore the logo, sorry x.x
Anyways, make ladders look like a bunch of piping running across that section of the block, so instead of climbing wooden ladders, your climbing up pipes.
OR
Make it a metal runged ladder that you see in sewers and such :tongue.gif:
Hope this helps.
That water is awesome!!!!! :DD
P.S. About the fence posts, you had it right, you have to build it like this:
= Fence
From top, to bottom, replace the dirt or whatever material you decide to use as you go down with fences.
This all seems strangely fitting for Minecraft, and I agree with all the artistic choices for the textures. I like how you made the iron ore orange-ish (like iron oxide) rather than the weird copper color it is normally.

"When we release a pure bugfix update, people get VERY upset ("NOTHING CHANGED!").. Adding features gives us much happier users. But I do realize that it's only happier users in the short term." - Notch
Sorry, I've confused things somewhat with my thread title. Just to be clear...this is a 32x32 pixel texture pack. I began work on this before there was a fix for the glitches and I wasn't about to start again from scratch. Sometime after this is released, I will have a go at perhaps converting it to 64x64, if Notch hasn't changed things drastically in his Halloween Update.
I'm still not entirely convinced of the worthiness of textures higher than 32x32 in Minecraft. In my opinion, totally untested of course, the higher resolution 'realistic' textures, as attractive as they are (and I love my other high res. games...I'm no traditionalist!), simply accentuate the sharp edged blockiness of the landscape, particularly close up. Until the game evolves into something with rounded edges (which is not what it's about) the lower resolutions have a way of 'rounding' the detail and somehow making it more acceptable in a 'blocky' world. Some very high res texture packs work very well I think, particularly 'Animal Crafting' by dancrum http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=48464, that's a style very suited, imho, to such fine detail. Having said all that, I'm going to experiment later, but I'm trying not to get side tracked at the moment.
Also I am working as much as I can on this pack, and it will probably be released before It's complete or I am fully satisfied with it. However, not before those important textures still belonging to Doku are converted. I hope you can understand this. I'm certainly not trying to 'tease' when I'm uploading pics, I'm just showing you the stuff as it gets completed and definately getting encouraged to work harder by your reactions to things. Just hope I don't dissapoint when it's finished. It's all free in the end!
Thanks everyone for such great comments and suggestions...right, back to the diamond block now, should have that soon to show!! :biggrin.gif:
Joking. Eagerly awaiting a release, even an incomplete one or just a terrain.png. Keep up the good work.
And yeah, dancrum did a really nice job on his didn't he? It does work well with the 64px. I just got done testing it out ingame and I was blown away. Wish I had more skill with this stuff.
Well, as promised...the Steampunk diamond is here presented for your perusal. Hope you think it has some worth for this theme. I probably spent more time on this than any other single item. In the back of my mind was the thought that this is the single most valuable block in Minecraft (probably wrong there. It's late!), it's got to look precious, but according to my own brief, it's also got to be functional (it's supposed to look like it does something), either way it's got to look good.
I could have tinkered with this forever, but I'm stopping now and moving further on. Hope it's not too gawdy. I went for the 'diamond in a box' idea. Wired and piped to suck energy out of Minecraftian diamonds for a variety of uses. There are old amber radio valves in there too and, when I was stuck for what to do on one of the sides, I suddenly remembered that I hadn't as yet included a good old fashioned 'iris' mechanism in anything. I didn't want it to look too eyelike though, so not sure if I've done it justice. :sad.gif:
One of the problems with it, as with the iron and gold blocks is which image to put on which face - top, sides and bottom. I think this is the most practical - as it stands in the pic. The top design can function like some exotic scanner/radar, the side panel can be set into walls for decoration and also free-standing looks 'boxlike', and the bottom iris design can function as a down light, or as you can see on my skyship, some kind of anti-grav thruster (not strictly 'steam' punk, I'm afraid, sorry!). I'm sure if you like the look of it you can think of many better uses!
Anyway, there are, I'm sure, many reasons for each of the designs being in a different order. What arrangement do you think would look best, or best serve the majority? Of course, those of you used to fiddling with textures can jiggy 'em around anyway.
Again, thanks for the ideas, crits and encouragement, it all percolates through eventually! :biggrin.gif:
Quick question, did you actually make all of these, or just edited premade images?
As for the actual textures, they're pretty awesome, but from the images you posted it looks as though some of them are somewhat blury (I suggest you save your images as png's or full quality jpgs from now on :/). The stone, I don't really like all that much and I think the cloth would look better without the borders.
That's exactly what it is. If you just place one fence, it will make a post, and if you put another on top, instead of next to it, it will simply put another on top. :]

Lol, your welcome! ;]
I'd rather him release the full thing WHEN he is all finished. I don't want to keep downloading it everytime he updates it D;
