I'll show you my latest project when you get back. You'll love it. Has lot's of nether plate, light stone, cobblestone, half steps, glass, and water. :wink.gif:
Glimmar, you rock. Have some diamond:
I recently stumbled across your pack, and a I've been interested in Steampunk for awhile, I decided to try it out. I got so into your pack that I created a whole new Steampunk world with the sole purpose of making it as Steampunk-ish as possible. I've so far made The Watchtower, my base, which is very brick-based and foggy. Now I'm building an airship. Have a look-see:
Yes, I did use InvGrid
Partially finished front and Gondola
View from Gondola
Standing at front, looking back
Looking forward from one of the walkways
On top of envelope. You can see The Watchtower from here
More finished front
Again
Finished front
Front and Gondola
I've spent roughly 11 hours on it, but the pictures aren't quite up-to-date. Oh, and the envelope is 35 meters across.
Edit: SirBob, I just realized I stole the Idea from you. Not really, since I started the day before yesterday, but ya...
Here is a mostly finished tribute to Glimmar's Steampunk Texture pack...I affectionally call it Glimmardome. Although it is not completely finished and is not in it's final resting place, I am pretty much done till after the holidays so I figured I'd post what I've got.
Here's a distance side shot of Glimmardome, the ultimate airship and dirigible station available. You can see my airship docked on the far side...more of that further down.
Here's a shot looking in the front door of Glimmardome. Beautiful chandeliers handing from the ceiling, stairway leading up to the main concourse where my airship is docked and at the far end is the large gallery with elevators to the Large Berth concourse, capable of docking even the largest cruiseships.
A night time shot of Glimmardome looking towards the front door, I just love the lights!
This is the entrance to the Main Gallery where passengers can wait and prepare to board on the Large Berth concourse high above.
A snapshot from within the Main Gallery looking back at the Main Gallery entrance. I envision filling this with plush, overstuffed furniture and vendors of food stuffs with valets running around getting everyone's luggage.
Now we can take a look at the airship. I didn't like the way the blimp portion looked just sitting on top, so I decided to put the retaining bands and struts on and I think it gives it a very steampunkish feel? You can see the Main Gallery dome to the right and the Large Berth concourse on top.
This is the starboard side view of the airship...impressive no? It has a large rear propeller and 4 smaller outrigger propeller units. The blimp is not for raising and lowering, but simply to make the weight of the ship neutral, the propellers and ailerons take care of altitude.
Here's a pic of the airship from the Large Berth concourse. Maybe after the holidays when the grand cruiseship the Glimmar of the Skies is docked, I'll take pictures of it and share.
A nice shot without the gangway deployed, notice the dual side mounted outrigger propellers. The blades can spin in either direction allowing adjustments up and down in altitude. The ship is nearly all wooden except where strength is required or in the engine room.
Our next picture is from just behind the helm position. You can see the blimp struts with the blimp just out of frame.
Our final shot is from the bow, looking back. The little building in the middle of the deck is the way below decks to guest and crew quarters, engine room, forecastle, bilge and cargo hold.
The interior of the ship is not completed yet, but soon. Without the hardwork of Glimmar these builds and my previous builds would look like crap, the texture pack brings out the spirit of the builder inside me!

Merry Christmas to all
I feel that way about this texture pack too. It really makes me want to build. No matter how long it takes. Your airship and building there is amazing! I can't wait until you finish the inside of the airship.
All I have left to do on mine is finish the inside of the submarine. It's no where near amazing as your structures there though. Really make me want to compete.
So I caved and installed the mod on my old browser box, along with Betterlight, etc. It's as good as I'd hoped (which is pretty good, btw).
My cheerful little beach house built into the side of a hill with its glass dam across the bay has become a mysterious Victorian gentleman's retreat. I know it sounds trite, but I can't help it.
Vernian Process is ultra awesome too. Ideal for this mod.
Performance has suffered a bit; this machine struggles at time with Minecraft unmodded. When I get my gaming rig back together I'll be starting something a little bit ambitious :biggrin.gif:
One of the mods seems to have changed your green water and baked bean lava to tropical blue and cartoon orange. I'm not going to worry too hard just yet though.
I Bet that if you made the propellers using the Contoller bloc you can make the propellers look like they were actually moving!
Try that and see how it turns outs!
I had been a fan of the old mod Bridge block mod, and then he switched to the Controller block mod. It was buggy and didn't work with SMP so I abandoned it, but I'll revisit it and see if I can get things moving so to speak!!
I use my free Dropbox account to hold and share my images. There is a folder under your dropbox folder called Public. Put images in there and then right click and go to the Dropbox context menu and choose the copy public link. Use that as the link to the image.
I run a server on my home box and it's only me...a server is great for building stuff, lots of nifty mods to help in the process.
But I think we should put our collective heads together and get a Steampunk Server, not sure how to go about that? Does anyone have a good server we could use or know of a good hosting provider? We could call it Glimmarland or Planet Glimmar or Steampunkville or Julesvernia or Glimmar Nation...well you get the idea.
If anyone is seriously interested reply or PM me directly?

So thanks back at you for letting us see your base of operations. A Minecraftian after my own heart...I love my storage facilities as I can see from your pics so do you. You work on a vast scale and that needs a good transportation system. Haha, loving the wall of furnaces...nice and warm in that icy wasteland! :smile.gif:
I've plenty of ideas for new stuff yet for this pack so I hope you continue to have fun with it.
Thanks mate, a truly awesome build and world!
It is indeed a vast icy wasteland. As for the transportation system, well it still a work in progress.
I would like to eventually make glass tunnels to surround my track system. But as you will see in the following
pics, well lets just say it may take a while. Never enough time for Minecraft.
I meant to post these with my previous post, but Cartograph took too long. Not surprising considering
my save file is well over 30 megs...
This is my updated chest storage facility. Yay for the new 1.6 update!
And my concentric square monument. From largest to smallest square ==> fire, lava, water, snow.
Its nothing really as complicated like some of the other amazing structures being posted, but
its nice to look at while I wait for my furnace wall to pump through my latest mining expedition's
loot.

That's a pretty extensive collection of original etchings used for Jules Vernes novels. There has to be hundreds to browse through there! Enjoy!

Apologies d95, but I had to "improve" on your creeper texture. My OCD-senses were kicking in.
is that a zeppelin hangar in your airstrip, or are you just happy to see me

Curse Premiumit looks nice.
mine had some things that i forgot to remove.
im going to try to make a cool spider soon.
Doesn't look like much
I always extend it by 9 blocks
Every 27, I have a row of torches
All the other 9s have rows of redstone torches
