IncarnationofInsanity, you're comment is very encouraging.
It was quite some time ago that I had a discussion with Rosestorm on the subject of prismarine, back when it was first introduced, he asked the same question. I'm too lazy to look back I'm afraid to quote them, but I mentioned then I was considering making the prismarine bricks out of corroded copper or riveted 'verdigris' panels, as the undersea temple/fortress initially gave me the impression of an alien 'submarine' nautilus or undersea 'base' abandoned on the sea floor. I also mentioned that there was a good excuse for introducing more 'electrickery' textures with prismarine and purpur.
Other matters intervened at the time I'm afraid, but I did collect lots of visual inspiration for when I get down to business. At this stage I'm not so sure how exactly I'll go with prismarine, but there is obviously a lot to do to catch up with undersea stuff, so it might prompt me to focus in that area next. However, to pardon a pun (prismarine being 'jade-like') I'm just feeling a little 'jaded' too at the moment with the long nights I've spent on all the terracotta and concrete... so needing a little break to catch up on some other RL things.
Glad you're liking the new glazed terracotta as they were a lot harder to design for than any other set of blocks and yes, the purple, red and black glazed terracotta were designed with Victorian/Edwardian carpets, fabric and wallpaper in mind (as the GSv21 video 1 alluded to)...hopefully they might have some other uses too when combined with other blocks.

Not to worry Glimmar, taking care of yourself and other IRL stuff is far more important than working on this.
Quick question though - is there any way to choose which bookshelf texture is used when I place a block? I know I have alternate textures turned on, because the default bookshelf was coming out as the double drawers variant, but unfortunately, the somewhat random scattering of textures isn't really working for the library I'm trying to build. My first thought was the minecraft debug stick, but it seems to only be able to change the orientation of blocks, so that wasn't working.

As far as I know there isn't a way to select individual random bookcase textures, but I'm not hot on understanding the innards of Minecraft. Just a simple, not very successful artist here, sorry!
What I could do is produce a small add-on pack that you can add above the main GS pack in your selected resource pack folder. This bookshelf add-on pack would just consist of random bookshelves (I could also do the same for those just wanting cupboards and drawers or just shelves of gizmos), but then you'd be stuck with just those categories of textures wherever you built bookshelves.
Another way would be to designate another not so important block as a secondary bookshelf block, just for random bookshelves. Again, I'd need to make an add-on pack for that and I don't know which block folk would consider unimportant enough to lose to this.
I'm no modder for sure, but perhaps it's possible to add-in our own blocks now without needing a separate mod...don't know really...I'm guessing not.
On a different note. I just remembered I have a load of new plant/flower textures that I wanted to add into the pack, so there might be another GS update soon. I just needed a few days to get my enthusiasm back. Lol!
Amongst other things, here's an extra 12 yellow plants to be added into GSv22, bringing the total to 24!
I'll be changing the name of 'Dandelion' to 'Yellow Plants' as these new plants are going in the dandelion slot to make sense of their use as yellow dye. If you have any better suggestions on what to call this group of random flowers/plants I'm happy to listen.
If your doing this for the other flower colours as well, then maybe for a name idea (insert colour name here) wildflowers.
That's a brilliant suggestion! Makes perfect sense of having a lot of random flower textures then and yes, there are a lot of other colours and types. Thanks for that, rosestorm.
Here's an extra 15 red wild flowers to be added into GSv22. Please note the name change as suggested by rosestorm90, many thanks, rosestorm.
When I'm finished with all the extra plants I will have to take a look at making sense of some of the dye and potted plant names, but I think some of these might be changing anyway in the next Minecraft update with the introduction of new dye sources.
"wildflowers"? I might just have to steal that idea.
It was a good catch-all name for colored flowers from rosestorm for sure.
Haha! Go for it! I'm wanting to have a go at a new random grass_path to accompany all the new flowers and that means I'll be studying what you did with your excellent grass_path overlay!
I love this texture pack, but do you think you could create a .mcpack version for us Windows 10 MC users? I've tried converting it, but only a few textures work. D:
It's kind of got a bit out of hand really, because I'm getting greedy re-colouring some textures from flower to flower (most flowers I have as separate stem leaf and flower layers so I can easily re-color, but it can get a bit confusing at times!). Glad you like and thanks again for the input.

Oh, thank you, Unorthodork and welcome to the MC forums.
Although I do have the Windows 10 version on my aging laptop I have only briefly dallied with it a couple of years back, so I wouldn't know where to begin. As there is soooo much still to do on this version, it's unlikely I would even attempt to do this for the foreseeable future. Really sorry, mate.
Those flowers are amazing. I always loved your take on photo-realism, Glimmar. It blends in around the player, creating a cohesive world.
Even though I don't play lately, my heart is with these textures.
Having just spent a marathon 2 days creating a new random grass_path set of textures, supposedly as a little break from editing more flowers, those are extremely welcome, encouraging words, Overjay. Thank you.
.....GSv22 Random Grass Path...Except It's Gravelly and Weedy!
With all the new wildflowers popping up it seemed appropriate to change my awful rushed, stand-in grass_path texture to something more suitable. The new grass_path texture has 48 random top textures including gravel, dirt and the odd weed and flower, plus there are also 16 random side textures to indicate the path is made up primarily of a layer of gravel on top of dirt.
The whole effect is topped off with a new 'grass overlay' Optifine effect that spills grass over the edge of the grass path, sand, gravel, dirt and coarse_dirt....not red sand yet until I properly randomize that for non-Optifine use.
As you might imagine, I had a lot of fun making grass paths everywhere bordered with wildflowers!
Honestly...that comment means a lot! Also, without your examples and Norzeteus, I wouldn't have understood how to do the properties file for the grass overlay, so credit to you guys.

Ooh, the new paths look good. Maybe I'll actually start using them, rather than the old gravel paths I'm used to. The wildflowers look great too!
