Well, at least developers made some of their coding magic, so I can view forum on my phone! Before they did that, my phone's Opera browser couldn't "transcode URL" and view the page.
Also, what I dislike in official Minecraft sites - CloudFlare DDOS protection. They constantly check, like, everything! And I can't imagine who would need, let's say, "planetminecraft" DDOS'ed. That sounds funny to me
And yeah, those checkings deny me on my phone, and I can view cool stuff
Man, you guys are making me want to share some screenshots of my city. Though my buildings aren't nearly as grand or architecturally accurate. I just wanted to build something that would look fun to explore.
I took most of these last night, and got around to sorting them today. The numbers are just for me to keep them in order. You can also find the point about halfway through when my descriptions occasionally became less... descriptive, haha. Or more descriptive depending on how you look at it.

Well, I haven't delved into the OP this morning, I'm gonna stay clear for a few days and see if it was just a temporary blip. It was annoying because I was just getting confident that I'd got a good grasp of the editor's foibles and was able to make edits again as and when necessary.
Fortunately, I can still edit the OP Gallery with many thanks due to Imgur, but I also keep worrying has the shear quantity of images and text in the OP reached some kind of forum limit, after which it explodes, but that doesn't make any sense!

What a great city! I was also highly entertained by your descriptions towards the end. They made me chuckle...only because I know what it's like to have to think of pertinent descriptions all the time and sometimes I'm lost for words and just want to stick in a line like "Tower Thingy" until I can think of something better.
Hehe! I'm going to have fun selecting some favorite views there for the Gallery, there's a lot to choose from and that's a good thing 'cos I can choose more of the very best! I'll try and edit those in today when i get a chance.
Many thanks, Lizeon and keep on expanding that city and giving us lots of ideas, I know I've gleaned a lot from looking at all those pics.
Having now put quite a few pics in the Fan Gallery, I've observed a few things that would make things a little easier for me (but, I hasten to add, I'm not complaining):
1. If you can, convert your images to '.jpg' format as it makes for smaller, quicker uploads for me and saves me having to convert from '.png'.
2. Put your title/description and name in the '.jpg' file title, then I can easily copy that as a description when I upload it to the Gallery album.
3. If there's an order to the pics, by all means add a sequence number into the title and I'll try and keep the same order with whatever pics I choose.
Excellent! That city is coming along very nicely. I do rather like those shops by the way. Well done to all and I'm looking forward to seeing how things develop. At some stage will you be paving and adding roads inbetween the buildings?
We do have roads, I just don't like the looks of them, so I've kept them out of the pictures as much as possible XD
Woooooow... That is awesome! Everything is one style, connected... I like your city very much!
You should spawn, or bring some villagers in there, so it'll be inhabited!
I did spawn some villagers one time, but I was still building that area then and they got in the way. I'll totally spawn in some more and let them wander around while I continue to expand.

Oh yeah .png, that's probably why it took me so long to upload them. Sorry about that.
And it seems there no way to make minecraft save screenshots in .jpg or make imgur convert them when they upload. Ah well, guess I'll have to find another lazy way to do it.

Gimp will easily convert, but I'm sure there are other pure converters if you're not looking for all the bells and whistles of a full graphic suite.
So here I was, making spruce blocks, that look like ye olde wooden panels...
Looking very nice!
I used to have a similar panel like that for spruce back in 32x days. A whole collection of them currently residing in the alts collection, however rather redundant now at 32x.
As mentioned previously, I will be introducing something similar at 64x, and other variations for the double wood slab slots as well as probably taking another look at all the planks. Also, some big ctm changes to bookcases coming at some point that should allow for books, storage and filing and apothecary needs. Basically...lots of ideas, but not a lot of time and spare energy at the end of the day to get stuck in.
currently still messing with prismarine and sea lantern, nether 'beetles and grubs' (26 at present, but I could easily waste more time on a hundred more as they're fantastic fun to see en-masse, easy to do and visually very pleasing), armor stand...didn't realise what a versatile bit of kit it is (great for turning armor into cool statues on plinths or in alcoves around the outside of classical buildings.
Also working on some new glass for undersea bases (using up either the red, blue, yellow or light blue stained glass) and thinking of legal (MCPatcher) ways to add more cast iron blocks to the pack.
Currently snowed under with RL stuff and work, so I don't know how long this will take or how often I'll be following things here, but I'll try and pick up on things for the Gallery, etc. (yes, please keep ideas for buildings and constructions coming everyone...for everyone's sake).
I haven't dared check the OP again, for fear I will make a mistake and garble everything up! Yes, I do have the OP backed up, but the problem is with the forum editor switching back and forth with BB code, or was at the weekend! Anyways, if the OP behaves then I'll try for another mini-update, even if it's just to infest you with nether bugs!
Looking very nice! I used to have a similar panel like that for spruce back in 32x days. A whole collection of them currently residing in the alts collectionÑŽ
Thanks
And yes, I know about those alts, as I were using them for a very long time. But now, after your recent updates, 32x began to seem obsolete to me. Also those panels carry one little element from those alts.
I plan to make a whole set of diffferent ctm textures for spruce wood stuff, like slabs, stairs, columns'o'slabs. It'll be awesome, 'cause I've gathered a lot of materials
Gimp will easily convert, but I'm sure there are other pure converters if you're not looking for all the bells and whistles of a full graphic suite.
Yeah I have Gimp and will probably end up having to do it that way, but I was looking more along the lines of "convert 100+ images from png. to jpg with 1 - 3 clicks" lazy, haha.
Just wanted to stop in and say thank you for your hard work. My family and I have just stumbled upon your wonderful creation and it has brought new life into our Minecraft time (we play as a family on LAN). I must say that your artwork is phenomenal and I would be happy to showcase your banner in my signature in support.!
Distracted from my distraction by the Wreck of the Schooner Demeter - the prow of which has been dragged ashore as a display next to the Demeter Memorial Stub Light.
Known as the Merter Light, the memorial was built to prevent further groundings on the Hobson's Spit. In this photograph the keeper's quarters are currently being expanded, as a new bridge is being constructed to allow congress with the mainland.
Dear Glimmar
I would just like to say thank you a million times for the textures. Every update my minecraft does not feel right until I get the correct Glimmar's Steampunk for it. I use it mostly for creative worlds, shamelessly lazy by cutting the work down with worldedit, but they would look downright strange without your amazing victorian textures. I post pictures on Deviantart, but I probably wouldn't get half the veiws, correction: ANY, without your selfless hard work and quality texturemanship. Thanks a stack-ful. http://micmi.deviantart.com/art/Meridian-City-Clocktower-515387717
This is just WOW. That detail, that style... Buildings actually look like a British Parlament building, which is cool! MAybe you post some more pictures?
EDIT:
I've missed that link. I fell in love with your library. Such scale and atmosphere.. woooo
And yeah, I see you using those dark wooden panels as well
I must confess that the "Paper Window" texture is not from Glimmar's, but the rest of the textures are from current or really old Glimmar's.
I borrowed that texture from Wolfhound Asian, which is also pretty good.
Well, at least developers made some of their coding magic, so I can view forum on my phone! Before they did that, my phone's Opera browser couldn't "transcode URL" and view the page.

Curse PremiumGallery is updated again!
Many thanks everyone for your contributions.

That's it for now...
