Its so cute (the piglet)! I really hope it works out well for you. If you are successful I will be sad every time I kill one...
I'm sure you can pull it off though! It definitely looks a lot like a pig from what I can tell! (I really like how you did the ears, very pig-ish!)
I'm about to begin on my piggy... It's gonna be turned into a blue dragon (probably a western-type)... I was originally was gonna make it a boar but everybody wanted to ride a dragon so I am now make drapiggies! (Name in Works...)
EDIT:
Here Glimmer! Since you were nice enough to show me a little preview, here's one of my own. A rough idea of the dragon pigs!
I'm still working on it's scales and face... It does have wings and a tail though! (I haven't even posted this on my own thread yet! :biggrin.gif: )
Haha! Very honoured. :smile.gif: I like his green eyes, but what's that on his back (the yellow) are they wings? He's a nice little drapiggy or draglet? :biggrin.gif:

Yeah those are the wings... They look worse when they are on it's back so I had them to the sides, I like draglet. :smile.gif: It's a good name. I'm going to turn the sheep next. Then the rest of Minecraft shall bow down to the dragon glory!!!.... Well, at least all the mobs will. :smile.gif: (Enemies too!)
I have to ask Glimmer, would you take a look at my pack? I really want your opinion. It would mean a lot to me to have someone who makes such beautiful art take a look at my own. I don't think it compares to yours, but it's original to say the least! :biggrin.gif:
^ You should place it in the gui folder in your minecraft.jar.
One more thing, woo! Diamond Sword replacement FINISHED!
The redstone gauntlet:
Updated Storefront:
Also, I've been having some fun messing with SkinEdit.
My idea for the gauntlet is as follows:
When you put it on, there is a small plate that you place on your arm so that it can react off of your blood (let's pretend that Redstone can react that way), it causes a motor on the blade's source to vibrate rapidly (thus making the blade itself vibrate horizontally at an almost jarring speed), causing the blade to leave a much larger wound.
It has the side effect of looking awesome with a diving suit.
If you want any changes, or can think of any improvements, just tell me.
Also, I'd love to create a video showing what these look like before someone uses it, but unfortunately, I can't. It turns out that there are no free decent video editors that I know of for the mac.
Edit: removed a really annoying pixel from the gauntlet, it was bugging me.
Thanks, I had no idea that it existed. I'll try it out as soon as I can.
Why does it have to take my three times to post a message that short?
Edit: just checked, I already have iMovie, and it can't record the screen, only the actual world.
Edit 2: Disregard that, I decided to record with quicktime, so it'll have no audio. The video, however is processing now.
Edit 3: we are, Quicktime isn't very good at this.

And if you are not used to messing around in the minecraft.jar file you can just open up my texture pack zip file, find the 'gui' folder and drop it in there. Probably better that way, so that it's only selected if you run my texture pack. :smile.gif:

Great work there on the gauntlet! I must say, from my perspective, I'm also loving the way you're updating your collection of items like this, because I now need only drop the one image ref. in the OP and you have control over editing it. I hope it's better for you too! :smile.gif:
Like your vid too - I'll put that with your store entry - OK?
We also need a cool fashion store in our Steampunk Emporium for showing off our SkinEdit kit? Any interest? If I remember rightly, it's possible to save skins as downloadable files isn't it? We could offer a range of appropriate Victorian clothing for the discerning Steampunk lady or gentleman. Anyone fancy running the boutique? :biggrin.gif:

You really don't mine? Oh thank you so much!!!

Thank you so much once again. :smile.gif:
What about a steam powered corkscrew, scoop arrangement with brass pipes coming out of it. A tall order for such a small sprite! :smile.gif:
GTG3000, like I asked Tlos. Would you be able to make your own little shop front with all your items/contributions gathered together into one sheet... then you can have control over! Give it your own name (or shop name) etc. eg. 'GTG3000's Curious Devices' or 'GTG3000's Machine Shop' (sorry for poor examples!), but hope you get the idea of the sort of imaginative showman style of advertising that went on back then. Then whenever you need to add or change things I can just bump the one file to 'Glimmar's Steampunk Emporium' at the top.
Considering the theme, I think it would be nice to make something of a Victorian shopping arcade at the top where visitors could window shop all the curiosities on offer. I've currently got my son, who's an avid Minecraftian too, making an 'Emporium' shop sign for the top! :biggrin.gif:
@ Glimmar: I'm thinking that it's a great idea, I'd love to help out with it. I'm still trying to think up a name for my shop, though.
If anybody is crazy enough to want it, here is the usable skin for what I did:
Just save it to your computer, go to minecraft.net, click preferences, and switch it out.
Edit: ^Haxjagarn, that looks really nice, seems that it would leave quite a mark.
I don't like the looks on the iron equipment so i made a darker iron machete! It's perfect for cutting that thick bushes or slaying zombies hardcore!
Lethal looking bit of kit there! :biggrin.gif: Nice work!
haxjagarn, do you fancy having a little shop at the top, for any other little tools/items etc.? See my ideas in posts above. No pressure, but would look nice for visitors. Many thanks for what you've done so far. :smile.gif:
A theme like this just deserves a myriad of fascinating little items to choose from and I'm keen for the place to become a one stop shop for steampunk/victoriana gadgets of all kinds.
Don't worry I'm not thinking of charging shop rental space or anything! :biggrin.gif: This helps everyone and it's a gadgety theme that demands it! :biggrin.gif:
Also, since I've been mining coal recently I was thinking, Why not make coal ore look like rock with crystaline bubbles that contain florescent gas? Then the coal item would look like one of these bubbles of gas that you could harness for light (torches) and furnace fuel.
Just a thought though

Glad you like! Hopefully it will keep the place looking interesting.
I like that skin!
It will have the distinction of being the first to be on show in the new Costumier's Shop (or whatever the Vics called a clothing store...that one's off the top of my head!;D), just down along the way in Glimmar's Steampunk Emporium! Lol!
Many thanxs to all contributors, seems we nearing a warehouse of steampunk items.
Lol spend half of the day trying to find a *flv joiner, since I made a new movie that got automaticly splitted and finally have had success, the video is currently uploading to YouTube and this time took some real work, trying to credit everyone or at least most ppl that are contributed a MOD or else to it, will have the music of Vernian Process and hopefully you can oversee the boring middle part...was shot in a one take around ~5 min. not to bore you too much.
Features Glimmar's diving helm without the underwater mod, but the Ambient Occlusion -> now 'Better Light' and some new art added due to the [MOD] More Paintings, a new bundle or ZIP will be avaible shortly when I put the Mod in and a refreshed item sheet...
Haha! Sounds like you've been very busy! Lots of nice stuff to look forward to then!
Yes, the new AO now referred to as 'Better Light' is absolutely wonderful. Much better lighting and shadow at night time, which works wonders for the atmosphere of a Victorian street, etc. I found with the AO mod that it went a bit flat at night...but not anymore. The only downside is that I can't get it to work with either or both my Decaying Foliage and Breathing Apparatus mods. I've not checked today though, it might have been fixed!
Looking forward to seeing what you've done for the paintings!

Heh, the only problem I have with that is that I use free image hostings, so I can't manage the pics.
*edit*
I am an idiot!
I can host the images on the DA account, can't I?
Tiger, you deserve more than a beer, mate! Awesome video and don't those paintings look amazing! The resolution must be massive. What a difference the BetterLight and Vernian Process music make. So amazingly atmospheric.
As soon as I get a chance, I'll send a link to the band so that they can see that their music is being used so well and I'll bump it to the top, though I think I'l have to jiggle things around up there.:smile.gif:

Hehe! You could do that or use what i use here at ScreenShots.com: http://www.scrnshots.com/users/SpiderRider/screenshots
It's been very reliable so far and has quite a good means of getting around and quickly uploading and is totally free.
Sorry to put on you like this, but I just think having your own space will allow you more control and free me up a little to work on textures. And, I must admit I'm quite warming to the idea of this Victorian Arcade malarkey! :biggrin.gif:
I was killing some time in my graphics program and made me a title screen for minecraft. After i finished it, i thought, "hey why not make a title screen for Glimmar's Steampunk". Which i promptly did. I don't know if your interested in the title screen or not. For all i know you may be planning one yourself in the future. I just threw these together, their nothing special. Please don't feel obligated in any way to use them. Feel free to do with them as you wish. I don't need to be credited. Take care buddy. =)
Note: These are 512x512. The default of course is 256x256. I use a 64x64 texture pack and i made my title screen 1024x1024. So these should be fine. I am not even sure if the size of that particular screen matters. They should work though. They also need to be renamed to Mojang.png if they are used by anyone. Cheers.
