Hey, I don't know if Megistus Eligius still reads this form but if you are would you kindly (*cough*Bioshock*cough*) make patch's for the Biomes O' Plenty and Flintlock Weapons mods?
Yes ... I do regularly haunt this forum. No, I probably won't do those mods. Glimmar is correct in that I only do the textures for the mods that I am using.
But, hey, there is nothing stopping you in sorting through Glim's textures, or the textures I have uploaded, and you doing the work needed to create the mod texture pack.
...
Glimmar, I certainly am getting excited about the work that you are doing! Though, I cannot help but think about the work that will be necessary to blend the mods in to these new textures.
Hope Megistus can pick up on this for you, but I'm guessing it would have to be in his area of interest.
Also welcome to the forum.
Thanks! Truth be told your pack inspired me to try to start up an steampunk RPG sever! The mods I'm going to be using (aside from the two I mentioned in my last post) are all covered by the patches made by Megistus. I'm looking forward to using the flesh blocks added by Biomes O' Plenty, maybe make a quest with the half-dead body of a giant the players will have to crawl around inside of to heal/kill it, and maybe the heart can have a beat created by note blocks!

Well...that's unfortunate, sadly I have no skill in pixel art, so doing it myself is out of the question maybe some one else on the forum can do it instead, if so I would greatly appreciate it!

Oh flip! Yeah! I hadn't stop to think how all the new basic textures will effect mods and the like! Sorry, mate.

Excellent work on the redstone Glim, looks wonderful mate, looking forward to seeing the animations on this, now you have teased us long enough, when can we get our hands on the goods , your doing a fantastic job Glim, hope your inspiration keeps flowing, as I have no clue where you get your idea's from .
Glad you like the redstone.
Unfortunately redstone and other new ores won't be animated. I'm trying to move away from animated ores, because the number of frames required to animate just one texture isn't worth the effort on my part or that of everyone's processors. Far better to have 10 or more random variants of an ore that look natural than 30 odd frames of animation to get a glowing pulse that never looks right when seen in groups.
Of course I'll keep the old animated versions in the alts download. Also as I'm flagging a little now, and away for the next few days, I'll be keeping the old animated diamond and emerald ores for now, unless I rustle up the urge to change them.
I just need to take a little stock of work I've done so far and what I feel still needs doing before updating, so I can't say at this stage when that will be.
Hey Glimmar, would it be all right if I started a thread asking people if they would be willing to make the patch's?
And what patches would those be? If you are referring to patching or updating my texture pack, all updates to this pack are made by myself in this thread and have been for the past 4 years, why would it be necessary to ask people in another thread to do this?

I believe he is referring to getting textures for the two mods he was asking about before (Biomes O' Plenty and Flintlock Weapons). Personally, I don't think creating a new thread would be a good idea, but asking in the respective threads for those mods might work, provided that whoever creates the textures follows the rules laid out by you and the mod creator. However, it would probably be best to keep such requests here in this thread to avoid cluttering up the mod threads with requests for retexturing jobs for various resource packs.
Also, ZippoMoon, you stated that you didn't think you could do it yourself as you don't have much experience with pixel art. As it stands, Glimmar has a fairly large number of alt textures available for use which you can use with the mods. All you'd have to do is look through the alts, find something that fits for each texture, cut and paste, and make sure it's named correctly and in the correct file. You should be able to use a free photo editing suite such as GIMP or Paint.NET to do this, and while you might not be able to find many items, this should at least cover the blocks. You may also look through the old mod support files for item textures, although if you were to re-upload them, please remember to give credit to the original creators of the textures. I hope this helps!

That... did not acore to me try that... well it's worth a shot at least, and if I do need to edit something it will be good pixel art practice.

Aaah! Thanks sheep. That explains things to my neurotic suspicious mind! I was thinking, because I was taking so long to update, ZippoMoon was wanting to ask others to update the pack! Flip! I need to retire I think. I'm getting more paranoid as the years go by.
@ Zippo ksheeps suggestion is a good starting point, as there's a massive amount of ready made textures in my alt download, ksheeps old collection of mod textures, User Contributions and Megistus' pack of mods. You might be able to get away with just renaming textures from those collections for the bulk of your requested mod textures.
I don't mind you asking from time to time in the thread if there are no immediate offers of help. Also if I can get my act together...RL and MC life are absolutely mad at the moment for me...I perhaps could add a 'requests' section in the Mod Emporium.
Mine Factory Reloaded had a fairly substantial update (texture wise) ... I have made all the corrections necessary to update the GUI's as well as added the new textures to the Chunk Loader. Other changes documented in the Change Log.
NetherOres is another that got a major Mod overhaul and I had to apply all new textures. But .. hey, at least that is out of the way until probably 1.7
Other Updates and Tweeks
Railcraft Tinkers Construct
NEW!
I added Project Red - I pretty much downloaded it for the lighting options, but, did do many of the other textures. Personally, I am not interested in adding the terrain features - such as dyed trees, Basalt, or Marble. If anyone wants to take the time and update those textures and send them to me, I will be glad to add them to my pack.
Glimmar, would you please be so kind as to add the following link to the OP? Thanks!

Added Project Red onto the end of your list in the OP. Many thanks for the continued input, Megistus. Puts my feeble efforts in updating to shame...such is RL at the moment!

Oh ... I certainly would not go that far From what I have seen, you spend a lot more time with the textures than I do. I am simply working with your excellent work. And I certainly understand your RL concerns ... I do have a fulltime job, wife and two children. So ... get done what you can, and that is all we can expect! But, just like one of the many fans of your work, waiting for the new textures can be almost more than one can stand!!!
On another note ... while I do greatly appreciate the work that you are doing for the most common textures seen (stone, ores, etc). I do wait with baited anticipation on what you will do for the mechanical textures - Doors, jukeboxes, etc. As an RL gear head and metalsmith ... that kind of stuff is what draws me to the steampunk genre.

I might spend more time on textures, but I just work incredibly slow at the end of a busy day, and I do tend to work and re-work stuff more than I should. Sometimes I'll just stare at the monitor, too tired to decide what to do next, or mind too blank to remember what I was working on or where I put that file of inspirational pics. So I'm not feeling very productive at the moment, and as mentioned, there's a lot going on with family, being Easter holidays, sons back from uni and college, etc. Family taxi driving is a full time job!
Yeah! It's the technical stuff I enjoy too, as it's not so hard on the tiling skills as ctm'd natural textures, but I think I'm getting too burned out to stoke up inspiration at the moment.
I think I will be updating before 1.8 comes out, minus any 1.8 textures I've got done so far, but the latest version of MC Patcher doesn't seem to want to display my random grass edges in 1.7.5. and when I tried it last night on the latest 1.8 Snapshot MC just shut down with an error message. I've mentioned the 1.7.5 problem on the MCPatcher thread before and again last night, as without the side grass working properly I can't think about updating sooner. I've yet to try re-installing MCPatcher, etc. so it might just be a temporary glitch, but it's very rare for me to experience an MC crash.
I'm still undecided about whether to release an update without updating the vanilla single textures that I've edited in MCPatcher. Decision making is not my forte at the moment!
Thanks for your input though, Megistus, it is very much appreciated.
The thread has been quiet for a few days, any progress pics to share Glim?
Nothing new to show yet. Been very busy with family, work and life and very, very tired in the evenings from a lot of landscaping (moving rocks, boulders, cement and mortaring, digging and cutting timber and the like). Old age setting in too I think!
When I've got something to show, I'll post pics. I'm tinkering with some things and also still bearing in mind an interim update, but haven't the energy or enthusiasm to go through that process just at the moment...sorry!
Just came to report the same pack, glad someone's noticing this kind of thing before i can! Dont be too distrot over the whole ordeal, one of the best ways to tell you've done something right is if someone trys to take it from you ^-^. Still love the pack mate, looking forward to what you do with the mob vision.

Ah! Thanks guys!
You know you've got friends around here when they look out for you, and I much appreciate you both spotting this. I usually do a little trawl from time to time over at PM, more to see what's new, but always on the look out too. Missed this one though, 'cos I've been busy, but also because you were faster.
Anyways as far as I can tell it looks like it's been taken down, so I'm grateful to you both and to the kind admin who removed it pronto.
Ooo! What's the 'mob vision', Hunter? Considering I'm feeling a bit behind on things, I hope it's not a huge lot of work!
I believe the "mob vision" he mentioned is for the planned spectator mode. On top of Creative, Survival, and Adventure mode, Mojang is adding a Spectator mode, where the player cannot be seen by other players, cannot interact with blocks, has the ability to walk through walls, the floor, etc., and can "posses" mobs, seeing the world from the mobs point of view. Several mobs have unique filters that are applied, such as Spiders having octuple vision (and being able to see more above and to the side), Creepers getting a green filter, and Endermen having inverted colors (at least, I believe that's what they get. I haven't checked in a few snapshots, so it may have changed).
That said, I don't think the mob possession filter is something normally controlled by the resource packs, although I may be mistaken. I may also be mistaken as for what he meant by "mob vision". Not entirely sure.
